This vacation sucks. How can an all-expenses paid vacation on the stunning island of Maui suck? Easy. Try going with my crazy co-workers. You'd hate it too. But that all changes when we show up for our helicopter tour. The hot dominant pilot takes one look at me and gets over the top obsessed. It doesn't take long before I'm kidnapped. Stolen away in a helicopter that's heading to a secluded part of the island where there's no escaping. Not that I'd want to... This vacation from my vacation is just what I needed. And Jack Caine is just who I want.

3.3 stars. This was definitely a sexy novella. About 90 pages so not a lot of backstory or in-depth conversations, but it had that Olivia Turner specialty that I love so much. It was complete, soul-mate style, over the top, insta love goodness, with a heavy dose of possession, and a sexy alpha man who’s just as untouched as our FMC to bring it home. The sex was fantastically passionate and dirty, and there was plenty of it to make up for the very simple plot.
One thing I wasn’t all that thrilled about, though? There was a little too much of an emphasis on word ‘black’ from Jack to be entirely comfortable. Nothing all that bad really. Just made me pause a bit with the amount of times he brought it up in his dirty descriptions of her. I’d be interested to know how someone of color felt about this novella, and if that popped out at them like it did me.
Otherwise, I had a good time reading this. It was exactly the short little smutty story I wanted after reading a few heavier books.
Insta/OTT H / breeding kinda/ multi-cultural romance/ steamy /dual V
This was a first by the author and it was a quick fun read.
The things: -Our H is an ex-military alpha whose a helicopter pilot who owns his own helicopter company in Hawaii. Yep he’s a billionaire too! -Instalove ❤️ the h is there on a business trip for being a top person in her company. They are taking a helicopter tour around the island and the H is walking by and sees her though the front glass…. He’s frozen in place…. Staring right at her…. Until the rotors turn on and then he is running 🏃♂️ for his life bc I mean she’s his life now OBVIOUSLY… and he tells everyone to get out, EVERYONE but Nia… and then he takes off with her lol. -Our h is Nia. A successful beautiful black woman from Atlanta. Whose always had a thing for pilots and this one is just DELICIOUS. -Dual V cards…. Now idk how realistic this is but hey, it’s a craZy OTT story so whatever right?! 😝 Nia just has focused on her career and Jack… well idk he says it just never felt right.. whatever we will take it lol -Some smexy times of course 🔥🔥 -Breeding/forced preg (kinda)… I say kinda because he full on off gate is like, I’m cumming inside her, she’s gonna have all my babies. No condom ever. I mean there’s never any discussion but he’s like “imma get her preg so many times she will forget their name” and I ain’t gonna lie… 👏🏼 I was here for it 👏🏼 - I loved that this is mixed. I loved her called her his black goddess, it was just so cute! -This story was sooooo kinda OTT ridiculous lol. I mean this all happens within like 3days lol. It’s so insane but you know sometimes you just want that in a book lol. This is that book. Let’s get married right now, I just kidnapped you in this helicopter and are you out in the ocean (yeahhh… idk I think he was holding her up, but I think she said she was floating on her back… and she didn’t drown so I mean he must be like a super hero but wtf ever he licked it good lol 👅) and you should marry me right now. -It was super short! But ya I knew it going on -some of the repetitive phrases annoyed the mess outta me … like how many times did we need to say exactly “her warm cream” (yeah we know we didn’t have to describe it that way EVERY TIME) or “my big cock” (ok ok saying it over and over made me think it was tiny lol).
Overall a fun little read and it makes me wanna see what this authors other stuff is about. Does she write ridiculousness all the time or does she write some relatable stories with a delicious OTT alpha, cause if so…. Y’all know I’m down!
At first I was feeling this book but then it did , as some of the reviews said, took an unrealistic turn. With him owning all this property and having servants. Servants really!!! But what really had me liking and then disliking this story was the author kept referring to Nia’s race. In the beginning, and looking at the book cover, we can tell Nia was a woman of color, but to keep referring to it was a bit of an overkill. My husband is Jamaican but he looks Hispanic and on one of his pale days he could even pass for caucasian. I don’t introduce him as my Jamaican husband. When I talk to ppl about my husband, his skin color is not even on my mind. I love a lot of Olivia T. Turner’s books but this one needed a little bit more work to it. Sorry 😞
Olivia is back!!!!! With her return she brings another blazing hot insta-everything OTT romance! I love Jack - he’s the perfect growly alpha that stakes his claim to his dream goddess when he first sets his eyes one her. Nia is so sweet, I adore her down to Earth attitude with the adventurer heart longing to be set free and Jack does it for her. This is a sweet and super hot double virgin tale, no drama and a happily ever after that will leave you smiling and your toes curled. It’s a quick one-sit read that’s perfect for setting a blaze on your kindle (and other areas). I loved it and can’t wait to see what she has in store next!
Okay. Uhm. This felt kind of fetish-y, in the way he kept referencing her skincolour. And can someone feel their skin getting darker? This was just so odd.
I myself am white, so I can't be the final judge of that, nor do I want to be - but I've read a couple of books who did it better than this.
Additionally, the over the top opulence was just off putting.
Plot: Nia is in Hawaii on a team-building trip with her company, about to go out on a helicopter tour. At the last minute, their pilot is replaced by Jack, the owner of the company. He saw Nia through the window and came running for her. He's waited to give himself to the woman meant for him, and he knows the minute he sees her that Nia is that woman. She's scheduled to go home in a couple of days, but if Jack has anything to say about it, she'll be staying on the island with him.
Commentary: This wasn't my favorite OTT, but it was okay. I liked the typical over-the-top, growling, breeding insta-love. The thing that bothered me a little was the references to Nia being Black - the way it was done felt a little, exploitative, maybe? I don't think that was the author's intention at all, but it felt weird. All romances describe the heroine, and you'll often see references to "creamy thighs" or "milky white skin." But in those cases, the descriptions are referencing physical traits and not race, and I didn't get that sense for this book. Also, I know - because I've seen it before - there are other ways to describe someone's race. Physical descriptions are great, and I'm there for that. But what about describing someone's family or location? Maybe the heroine went to an HBUC - you tell me she went to Jackson State, and I'm 99% certain she's Black, without you mentioning her "Black skin." Or maybe you notice she looks like a famous Black actress, or her family celebrates Kwanzaa or something that indicates Black culture. The way it was done, though, made me feel like we were supposed to see how hard the author tried to incorporate a Black character. It could have been done with a little more sensitivity. And I say that as someone who loves this author. But I'm white - maybe I have the wrong of it? I will read this author's next book - I'm considering that perhaps this was a learning experience and the author will do better the next time (or she could ignore this because I'm just one reader lol).
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Jack and Nia. Nia is on vacation in Hawaii with her co-workers after winning a bonus. They are about to go on a helicopter tour of the island when Jack comes to the helicopter and kicks everyone but Nia off. Jack tells her he is going to give her a private tour and takes off. Jack wants Nia and is going to convince her to stay with him in Hawaii. nia is attracted to Jack, but wonders why he is acting so possessive of her. Nia thinks it is a dream come true to be with Jack, but she thinks it is only a vacation fling for him. Nia always dreamed of being a helicopter pilot. but took a corporate job to pay her bills. I liked this instant love story. I liked Jack, he was a dominate man who knew what he wanted and he wanted Nia. I like that he wanted her to stay and share in his wealth and happiness. I also like that Jack wanted her to achieve her dreams. Another good one.
Tropes: Insta love Hot billionaire obsessive helicopter riding alpha hero Cute sexy innocent pretty and beautiful heroine Good epilogues HEA and kids, Raina, Colin, Tamara, and Yasmine Age gap im guessing Grumpy x sunshine Some jealousy
She’s there for a work thing and he’s the helicopter rider and tells everyone to get out so she can have the special and they jus talk or whatever and she’s instantly attracted to him. He asks her out to his house and they eat dinner, then they sleep together and yeh they’re basically together with a few spicy scenes then she’s worried about going back and if she even wants to so he proposes for her stay and to marry him or he’ll sell his business for her and move to Atlanta from Hawaii. She agrees to and they live in Hawaii. So cute.
A helicopter tour that changes 2 lives. Nia won a trip to Hawaii, bit her boss turned it into a company retreat. So Susan, Devon, Kyle are also there. As they are preparing for take off Nia spots the pilot of her dreams walking on the Tarmac. Blue eyes stare into the helicopter window straight at her. Jack never expected his life would be turned upside down as he walks across the Tarmac, possessive feelings and obsession take over. Nia has 4 days left on this island and Jack is going to make sure she never wants to leave.
Oh how I loved this story. 😍 😍😍Jack was so freaking OTT alpha male... one look from afar and he knew Nia was his no questions asked and heck if someone came between him and his woman😍😍😍 Insta goodness without drama and with hot encounters 🥵🥵🥵 Sweet, steamy, romantic ,OTT obsessed H, totally safe (freaking DV🥰🥰 their one and only 👍👍👍) and with a cute HEA. I'm so freaking glad we now get more stories by Olivia T. Turner.... realized today how much I missed her stories 😁
Nia is on vacation with some of her co-workers. When she is just about to go up in a helicopter for a tour another pilot decides it will be a private tour just for her. Jack spots Nia about to go for a tour and he decides she is his and takes her on a private tour that he plans on not ending until she agrees to be his forever. This is a great OTT, possessive alpha male story and I highly recommend it.
Hm I don’t think I normally leave reviews for OT’s books as I tend to use then to increase my book quota… but for this I feel like I needed to comment and only because of a few things I read that seemed very inaccurate? (The only word that came to mind).
How do you feel yourself getting darker? I’m confused- I’m only my asking because I’m a black woman and at no point do I ‘feel’ myself getting dark when blushing.. maybe it was a typo but I think maybe this book could have done with a few minor tweaks… just a thought.
Overall, a quick insta-love story and there were still some really good OT characteristics built in there. I’m all for interracial couples- defo add more but yeh just work on some points.
The last thing Nia expected was to be whisked away by the pilot who told everybody to get out of the helicopter except her and who was she to say no to the very hot pilot Jack. Jack only sees Nia through the glass of helicopter before he is running over to take over from the current pilot and ends up taking Nia to a secluded beach and also to the life he will give her because this pure alpha male is never going to let her go.
Es un libro muy bello y muy maravilloso ¡¡me encanta un monton!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Short steamy erotica. No real believable plot. But the sex scenes were hot and plentiful, especially for such a short novella. 2.5 Stars.
I can understand lust or attraction at first sight, but not love or the desire to marry and impregnate someone at first sight.
Their initial reaction to each other was over the top ridiculous. And the speed at which their relationship progressed will give you whiplash. Jack and Nia fell in love, had sex, and were married in one week.
Well our girl is back and she came flying in with a HOT ONE! OTT is back to her old tricks and she has given us a panty melting possessive alpha. And Nia is awesome i completely fell in love with her and once her and Jack get together the chemistry is exsplosive. Don't miss out on this book it is guaranteed to leave you satisfied!
I get it, my ex was a helicopter pilot in Hawaii. Yes, he was ridiculously hot. So, Nia is the young, completely inexperienced vcard who has a thing for pilots. Enter Jack, her helicopter hottie who takes her on a private ride.
Olivia T. Turner is back with a hot and sexy read and she doesn’t disappoint!! Who says a vacation can’t change your life? Well, Nia is about to find out after older helicopter pilot, Jack, becomes captivated by her and claims her for his own. So much passion and fun!
OMG! What a beautiful and sexy story. Captivating from start to finish. I Immensely enjoyed the interracial aspect of the story. I hope the author writes more of those stories. She did an excellent job bringing to life the main characters. Kudos to the author.
This was a wonderful book. Jack and Nia's love story is one of love and lust at first sight. He'll do anything for her and starts courting her immediately. She's all in but has some doubts. Jack shows His that dreams do come true and there's no time limit on falling in love.
This book was so worth the wait. Nia and Jack fell in love at first sight. Mia was on a business trip and met Jack, whom was a helicopter pilot, that gave tours of Maui. After meeting her he was never letting her go. My favorite of all Olivia T Turner books, that is saying a lot because all her books are good.
More sex than actual relationship. Although, if you believe in lust/love at first sight and hot sex, this is for you.
The banter and dirty talk between Nia and Jack makes it hard believe Nia is/was a virgin, but the sex scenes are spicy and written to enhance their chemistry.
the constant "black" references read a little like fetishizing. in ANY book, with a heroine of ANY ethnicity,*i* enjoy a description, and let's put it to rest. constant reiteration of "milky complexion" or "black skin" *to me* read subtly racist. and it messed up a little of my enjoyment of the tale. otherwise it was hot and sweet.
