One look was all it took. Now I’m obsessed with her. When she smiles, I swear it’s like fireworks go off in my brain. My angel…how did I ever exist without you? Ever since we met, I’ve done everything I can to insinuate myself into her life. But that wasn’t enough for me. I needed more contact with her. And so, unbeknownst to her, I’ve been living in the crawl space in her attic. She doesn’t know that I watch over her. She doesn’t know that if something were to happen to her, I would rip my heart out. Maybe they’re right, maybe I am sick in the head. But some things you just can’t control. How long can I continue to hide in her attic? ...Not long.
*WARNING: This is an over-the-top book with explicit sex scenes, adult themes and adult language.
*Also, please note: This is a satirical romance in which the author uses humor or exaggeration to shed light and criticism on human nature. Satire is a literary device and in accordance with it the writing is over-the-top on purpose. Embedded in this satirical book is situational irony and dramatic irony. Enjoy! ;)
*One more thing to note: Just in case you’re wondering, this book has nothing to do with hockey. The hero’s name is Puck, but this is not a sports romance :)
Do you like your heroes dark and twisted (and the more obsessed the better)? Do you like over-the-top steamy romance stories that are full of growly alpha men? Come escape into books with me!

If readers want to read a novella heavy on the smut, then they should check this out.
I've never read the word "grrr" and come across so many uppercase words as I did with this one. 😂 Some of the lines were so frigging cringey that I couldn't stop grimacing at how they sounded so corny instead of cheesy. Maybe it's supposed to be like that??? Idk, but that didn't work for me. 🤷♀️
This is insta-lust that didn't do it for me. I cannot get invested in the story if majority of it is focused on the physical aspect. I need more than that.
Anyway, Puck (25) was released from the psychiatric hospital after 9 years. When he was 15, he killed his stepfather for killing his mom and stabbed him 50 times. Then, after a year of his release, he met Mandy (??) at a Halloween party, and he has become obsessed with her since then. They both felt the attraction, but it was way more intense for him.
He feels like going out of his mind when he doesn't see her, so when he stalked her one night and found that her house has an attic, he decided to live there. He still has his own house, but most of the time he stays in her attic. They've been seeing each other, but he never stays over. Once he's out of her house, he'll just sneak at the back to get in her attic again. 😂
There are side plots about Mandy's ex-husband that Puck dealt with and something about a serial killing. Eventually, she found out about his living arrangements and broke up with him after he told her the truth. They've been separated for a month, but Mandy realized how much she's in love with Puck, so she goes after him, and voila, HEA.
Overall, this didn't work for me. The storytelling wasn't that bad, but there's still something about it that's a bit cringey in a way. I love novellas and usually enjoy them, but unfortunately, that's not the case here. While this didn't work for me, other readers might feel differently.
Book info: - Novella - Insta-lust - Boy obsessed - Murder - Serial killing - Domestic abuse (past) - No cheating, opd - Non-virgin MCs - Breakup (1 month) - HEA (5 years later, married and pregnant)

This story is right up my alley of stories I love to read! It has a over the top possessive alpha, stalking to another level (but not to creppy) and a second chance at love for two people who have gone through their own issues.
Puck has been through some crazy trauma when he was a young kid and because of it, he was admitted to a psyche hospital to recover and heal from it. Once he finally got out and gets a job on this farm for a new life, he ends up meeting Mandy and coming to her rescue when a guy was not taking no for an answer. Once he sets his eyes on her. he knew she was the one and had to make sure she was safe and became his at any cost.
Mandy is a small town apple pie baker out of her home and has been recently divorced for about two years, so naturally she is hesitant to date again. But once she meets her Batman in Puck, she doesn't know what to do. One thing leads into another and Puck is hiding in her attic using her cat to his advantage to see her. Add in her ex bothering her and you have yourself a crazy Puck who does everything in his power to make Mandy his!
I highly recommend this story to anyone who loves over the top alphas with stalker vibes and a second chance at love!
I’m honestly shocked at how bad this was. I saw this in a Reddit thread and thought it sounded right up my alley, I was wrong. The writing is so cringe and every single conversation feels clunky and unnatural. I just can’t enjoy a book that actually has the female main character say “grr” while in conversation, I just can’t 🤣 This HAD to have been written by someone as a teen and they just published it without checking for readability, the only other plausible option is that the entire thing is satire, lol.
Puck is that guy that YOU obsess over. He's got a broken history and definitely does over the top and unique things that I tripped and fell hard for him.
This book is all you want in dark, erotic, fun, fantastic characters with twists and slides. It my kind of ride. Too bad this story ended because I wasn't ready to let them go.
Grab an apple and get your bat signal ready. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
Okay! I needed a few moments to gather my thoughts after finishing this read! Initially I thought Puck was nuts, crazy, off his rocker all that! But, after learning a bit more about him and his story, and what he witnessed, I realized that he is lonely, broken, anxious, grieving, misunderstood and terribly afraid that people will shun him; without taking the time to get to know him! Is he over the top with things that he does? Yes, absolutely!😂 But, deep down he has a caring heart and just wants to be loved. Mandy! Poor thing was oblivious to all the things about Puck that were right in front of her; and she never investigated or asked enough questions. After learning about the trauma she suffered with her ex-husband, I understood that she was scarred and wanted to feel safe again, and Puck gave her that! Was it odd that Puck was doing all of these off the wall things to spend time with Mandy? Yes, but I found them endearing, as he really wanted to love and protect her in the way he was unable to with his mother! This was a different type of read for me, but I enjoyed it nonetheless! Good job! 👍👍👍
I am just so overwhelmed by the unexpected, sweet, and raw flood of emotional feelings this book pulled out of me. Puck is inherently protective with obsessive tendencies and loves unconditionally. He has a voracious need for the same deep seeded love he feels to be reciprocated. Mandy is beautiful, kind, with an angelic innocence that Puck is drawn to and knows she’s everything he’s ever wanted. A bond is quickly formed and a HEA like the ones you read in fairy tales. I highly recommend this short read. The story may sound outlandish and over the top but it was definitely believable enough to completely draw me in til the end. I didn’t want it to end and am hopeful that there will be future books on Puck and Mandy. Fingers crossed 🤞.
This is one crazy story and it led me to a merry chase. The MMC is obsessed with the FMC, crazily so but not in the bad way. He did made her safe and feel safe but there were a lot of facts that threw me off the path and I was glad that I was wrong.

Damn this book was hot as hell. Crazy and erotic with romance and a little humor thrown in. This was a fun ride. An OTT, obsessive, stalker Alpha, Dual POV, dirty talk, praise, spanking, breeding kink, spicy scenes were amazing, no cheating, and an HEA. Give me more like this!
My first Julie Thorn book and I was intrigued by the idea. I admit I originally wondered if it was a sports romance because I love those but no it's not. It's far from a sports romance. I would describe it as a forbidden romance/stalker romance. Check your triggers if that idea bothers you.
All in all, though this was a really good quick read and it was entertaining and had some lighthearted fun moments and plenty of spicy chemistry between the two.
It touches on mental health issues and abusive relationships. It's a nice way to show that the past doesn't mean you can't grow and change, even those that are broken deserve and need love.
"A dark past doesn't lead to a dark future. I want you to remember that." "Because stars can't shine without the darkness."
Mandy is at the carnival with her friend and when Batman steps in to chase off a drunk guy who can't take the hint she can't deny how she is attracted to a man whose face she can't even see. Puck watched the beautiful woman and when the drunk won't leave her be he pretends to be her boyfriend. One look and having her in his arms for only a moment was not enough for Puck now he is obsessed with her.
He can't help the need to follow her and when she settles into her home for the night Puck decides to make sure she is safe. Finding a way in via the attic he makes his way around the house realizing she isn't as safe as he wants her to be. When he finds space in her attic he decides to stay to keep watch over the most important thing in his life.
When Mandy returns to the farm where the carnival was held she meets the very hot farmhand and she remembers those blue eyes. It's her Batman. She finds herself inviting the handsome man over and having him in her space brings her desires to the surface. After a nasty divorce though she doesn't want serious. Puck agrees but spends the next few weeks finding ways to be near her.
As their relationship blooms, there are some things that don't add up but Mandy is cautious of the newness of what they have. The truth never stays hidden though and when Puck confronts Mandy's abusive ex things start to unravel. When he tells her the truth will she be able to get over the fact that she has fallen in love with a stalker?
A chance meeting is all most stalkers need to become obsessed. Puck is no different in that regard, but he's different in just about everything else. He's more than a little crazy, but he's wonderful. I love a great stalker book... I wondered how it was all going to come out, and still keep the girl... although I was a little sad she didn't use the Bat-Signal.
Sensitive topics: DV, mental health issues..(Check TW)
Sick Puck is a fast paced, steamy stalker romance novella. Add in some drama, living and healing from past traumas, no cheating and a possessive male who takes his obsession to a bit of a creepier level but with the intentions of wanting to keep the FMC close and safe. Puck just wants to be loved. Having been through some intense trauma as a young child, he doesn’t know when to stop his obsessive impulses. I felt for Puck. He thought that if Mandy ever found out about his past. She wouldn’t stay or love him.
Mandy is a divorcee who is trying to live a quiet life after the abuse she suffered in her marriage. At the carnival with her friend. She meets Puck who was dressed as Batman when a drunk guy wouldn’t stop following her and harassing her. Puck steps in and pretends to be her boyfriend in order to save her from the other guy. In an instant, Puck’s obsessive behavior focuses on Mandy…his new obsession. He just wants to know her. He won’t get too close. No, just make sure she’s okay and safe. Living so far out from others..all alone. Puck can’t help but follow her and sneak into home to make sure she’s okay. What if she forgot to lock everything up? Some creep could sneak in..right? After checking her how he realized she’s not safe. Seems someone try to get into her home. So he decides to stay close. Watch over her. She’s his.
As they get closer and their relationship grows. Mandy starts to wonder about a few things. With Mandy being followed, in danger and her ex-husband harassing her..what could happen? What happens when some truths are revealed?
“A dark past doesn’t lead to a dark future. I want you to remember that. Because stars can’t shine without the darkness.”
I recommend this if you're looking for a quick short steamy read.

While I enjoyed the premise of the story the interactions between the fmc and Puck were pretty juvenile. The beginning started off strong with the whole Mr. Batman saves the fallen angel trope, but quickly spiraled out of control. In hindsight the timeline that everything happens in is pretty far-fetched and that's not including the fact that Puck has only recently been released from an insane asylum and must regularly check in with a psych. Paired with some extremely off-putting moments as Puck literally holes up in the fmc's attic, and the childish banter between these two middle aged adults, the book quickly became cringey and uncomfortable.
There were definitely a few cute moments throughout the story and the spice was very nice. It just needed a little extra fine-tuning and would have read better had the plot been more consistent. A good try, just not quite there.
What the hockey puck? Somehow, Author Julie Thorn had me feeling that Puck was a wak-a-doodle, like creepy, and then she considered that perhaps he needs Mandy to come around, but ultimately, she had me falling for the guy 100%.
In “Sick Puck,” Puck gets released from a psychiatric hospital, having been there since he was 15 years old, due to an impulsive and v¡0lent act involving his mother he was trying to protect. Ready to move forward with his life, he finds himself encaptured by Mandy, a recently divorced woman going through some trauma of her own. Puck becomes so obsessed with Mandy that she becomes his life in every way that screams, “D@nger, Will Robinson!”
Though a short read, I still enjoyed “Sick Puck,” including all the red flag moments because Puck is hot, and so were the scenes Author Julie Thorn wrote.
If you like dark stalker romances, you are going to LOVE this book from Julie Thorn! Puck and Mandy are stalker perfection and I couldn’t get enough of these two and their story. Not only does it include the stalker aspect but he’s also a protector when danger comes looking for her and he has a dark past.
The way this was written was fantastic. All the little things that show Puck’s obsession will both freak you out and make you fall in love. He’s a complicated characters with tons of layers but you can’t help but to love him! This is a book that you will want to read multiple times because it’s so good! So get this book today!

Sexy obsessive love story! Puck (H) was such an interesting character. For me, Puck brings a young Christian Bale to mind if his roles as Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) and Batman came together - a balancing of the killer and the superhero protector. He is an obsessive, protective stalker when it comes to Mandy (h) but in a way that fulfills her needs. Mandy seems to attract a certain kind of man - the drunken pirate, the creepy neighbor, her ex-husband. She needs someone who's capable of looking out for her and when Puck's not in her life, she misses him and seeks him out. Loved the intensity of their relationship!
I kind of loved this story. It was enjoyable even though it talked about stalking and spousal abuse. The characters were easy to relate to and interesting. Puck seemed super sweet even when he was being protective and possessive. He had led a hard life but was trying to move forward. Mandy was a sweetheart that was also an experienced business woman. She was knocked for a loop when she met Puck. Puck wanted to keep Mandy and make sure that she was safe. I loved how the story ended. I’m greedy so I would’ve loved another epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.
Loved it, there's something about puck that just makes you love him ❤️ Sad moments and happy moments with abit of spice good storyline but with some sensitive subjects. I love how puck and mandy are so passionate about each other and shows pass means nothing when it comes to love.

I loved Puck from the start his obsessiveness and all . I’m glad Puck and Mandy get their HEA after being honest with each other it was never going to work until they both came clean.
Favorite book so far, I loved this book. It was rlly good, and honestly it hit hard, the smut was SO good, and I think Puck is my favorite hero, but he was probably the craziest too.
DNF at 50% Reading this was like reading the tinder conversations of someone who thinks they are the Rizzard of Oz.
His therapist:“Are you losing touch with reality again?”
Him while he has ✨ with the woman, who only wants something casual while he lives in her crawl space: “Fuck, baby, you’re so wet, I need a scuba diving suit,” side eyeeeeee “God, please grant me the strength to not lose my mind when Mandy moans with delight as I fuck her hard. For now and for as long as I breathe. Amen,” he really says that to her.... Out loud... The second hand embarrassment was unimaginable.
Aren't you EmBarASSAAAD of yourself?!? Every line in their conversation was so scripted that it hurt to read.
Considering that he really can't pull it of to stalk her he sounds like a town weirdo you try to avoid at all cost. "I need to work out my issues on my own. Plus, I don’t trust the system."
He had nothing going for him, but his looks.

This was ott and funny and I had a time reading this. One of my fav scenes is where Puck is breaking into Mandy's house claiming it's not safe and any weirdo could get in (sir, YOU are the weirdo 🤣) or talking to her cat asking if there were any crazy stalkers around (YOU Puck, YOU!! 🤣🤣). I absolutely love Puck because he had a tragic backstory that led to his current state of mind but he was still a sweetie and down BAD for Mandy.
I gotta read more Thorn books now. She's officially gotten me out of my reading slump!! ☺️ THANK YOU JULIE!! 😘
