Leah Busboom wanted to become an author since the day she learned how to read! She specializes in the Romance genre because she loves a good story with a happy ending. Her books are known for their heartwarming stories; intriguing characters and hilarious real life situations that will make you want to laugh out loud.
Leah currently lives in Colorado with her wonderful husband, her "Blue Bomber" bicycle and a hundred bunny rabbits that roam free in the neighborhood.
This is a wonderfully written, delightful story of second chances. It is a clean and sweet romance with a little bit of suspense and intrigue and also a good dose of humor. I was pulled into the story from the start and became completely engrossed in Riley and Logan's story till the end. Riley learns how to put her faith in and trust God and get direction from him. It is an inspirational story, but not overly preachy, which I appreciated. The story flowed well and kept my interest all the way through. Ms. Busboom did a nice job of creating an entertaining story with endearing characters that are interesting and relatable. With a thoroughly enjoyable storyline and wonderful characters, this is one not to be missed. I am happy to recommend this book!
I received a complimentary advanced reader's copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I loved this heartwarming second chance romance. Well written this lovely storyline follows Riley and Logan as they face past heartaches and pain, to overcome the fear of being with someone and finding love when you least expect it. Love the story and I love the characters.
Riley was running and had been running for a while. She had a hard time trusting and opening up to others. She and her young daughter, Poppy, needed a fresh start so she landed in the small town in Colorado.
When Logan first met Riley on the side of the road with Poppy in a car that had broken down, he found her prickly and rude but he saw something more. He wanted to get to know her better. Logan had been hurt by someone he thought loved him so he was hesitant to open himself again to the possibility of heartbreak, but felt like God was telling him that Riley was good and he needed to get to know her better.
I felt like both Logan and Riley needed to learn to listen to and trust God more. As they did, they began to see his hand in their lives. When Riley had to face fear from her past, she had a choice, she could continue running or she could stay and trust.
I enjoyed this story very much and loved the wonderful secondary characters, as well. They added dimension and depth to the story. I was rooting for Logan and Riley and Poppy all the way through and was happy when there was a happy ending. This book was a clean, wholesome, romantic story appropriate for anyone who wants to read a wonderful, feel-good story.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I am a huge fan of Leah Busboom but I was afraid to pick up her latest Potter’s House novel, A Reason for Hope. The synapsis felt a lot like my own personal story, a single mom, running from a tough relationship, and I wasn’t wrong.
I do not believe in putting spoilers in my reviews, but there’s a part where Riley is triggered and remembers the moment the final straw broke, and she left her husband. It was an abusive situation that was eerily similar to the day before I left my own abusive situation, and it definitely triggered me, bringing back memories I don’t care to relive, but couldn’t help but think about. So, let that be your trigger warning if you’re sensitive to those types of situations like I am.
Other than that one instance, there are no other details, but the book as a whole brought up my own story. I identified with Riley so much, even having my knight in shining armor like Logan. Logan is seriously the sweetest guy, and definitely the dream! He is attentive, honest, hard-working, and has faith. I fell in love with him!! I also adored his instant bond with sweet baby Poppy, and his nickname for her. So stinkin’ cute!!!
Riley, though I identified with her in a myriad of ways, I struggled to connect with her. Her choices frustrated me, maybe because she ran when I chose to stay and fight. I hated that she didn’t see the amazing support group that she had in Logan, and her work family, especially Margaret. Margaret was another character I adored, loving her sweet meddlesome ways.
Though there were those moments that I struggled with, I enjoyed this novel. Obviously, it felt true to life in a lot of ways, even though I ended the book feeling like Logan is a little too good to be true. A Reason for Hope does give you hope, and is full of second chances, facing fears, and having faith that it will all work out in the end. A good read indeed!
*I have voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book which I read through Kindle Unlimited. All views and opinions are completely honest, and my own.
I’ve become a huge fan of Leah Busboom’s writing and, after reading A Time for Faith, I couldn’t wait to get to know Riley and root for her happily-ever-after in A Reason for Hope.
Because of her past, initially Riley comes across as standoffish, but she’s so loving and protective of her daughter Poppy. And Logan, the hero? It doesn’t take long for the family man’s kind nature to crush her defenses. Happy sigh excerpt: Logan’s wearing my apron, buttering fresh slices of bread, and looking as comfortable as a seasoned chef in my tiny kitchen. Poppy’s sitting in her high chair, eating Cheerios that Logan put out on the tray for her. He’s talking to her and making her laugh. She tries to answer with some baby gibberish, and he nods his head as if he understands every word.
But it’s not a smooth road to happily-ever-after, and Riley must decide whether to depend on the Lord and tackle her fears or keep running and lose all the good waiting for her in Paradise Springs.
If you enjoy clean romances with a natural faith thread, you’ll want to scoop up this beautiful story of hope, forgiveness, redemption, and second chances.
Disclaimer: I received an advance reader copy of A Reason for Hope from the author. Other than the free copy of this ebook, I was not compensated, and this review represents my fair and unbiased opinion.
Riley and her baby daughter, Poppy, had no choice but to accept help from the wrecker driver. But, oh how she wanted to stay away from all men after her ex-husband had begun to hit her. Logan, the auto repair shop owner had a feeling God had placed him in this position to help Riley more than just towing her car. This book is another of Leah’s creations that cause the reader to search deep within to understand and appreciate people who are different, who have struggles we cannot even fathom. This book touches on isolation, abuse, fear, and hope. It is beautifully written and the characters are very likable and believable. Thank you, Laura, for the gift of this book. I gladly am writing this review in hopes of introducing someone new to your work.
I am truly enjoying Ms.Busboom's stories in the Potter's House series. The characters are warm, caring, and trying their best to live their faith. They aren't perfect; they stumble, doubt, occasionally lash out when hurt, and sometimes fall far short of their ideals. But they always turn to and lean on God for guidance to get through tough times, or to praise Him and offer thanks for the everyday small miracles that comprise the lives of believers. They apologize when they have wronged another and offer forgiveness to those who seek to reconcile with them.
When I finished this story, I had a smile on my face and peace in my heart. I anticipate thecsame will be true for you.
Leah Busboom has written a heartwarming second chance romance. Wonderful characters Riley, Poppy and Logan and were pulling for them through the book. Loved their matchmakers Margaret and Diane. Thought it was really special how they helped with the soup kitchen and Riley suggesting the clothes ministry. I really loved this book.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This was a romantic, inspirational story that was so much fun to read. The characters pulled me in and made me enjoy their story. I liked that both Riley and Logan were eventually able to heal their hearts by turning to God and their faith instead of running away. The broken down vehicles just added to the fun! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
Delightful story of second chances, facing things straight on, and romance with lots of humor thrown in. Inspirational as Riley learned to get strength and direction from God, but not preachy at all.
This is a wonderful inspirational romance that was an absolute joy to read. Riley and Logan's story is a heartwarming story that hooks you on the first page. It's full of hope, overcoming the pain of past relationships and has just enough humor to make this an outstanding read.
This is the story of a young woman who leaves her abusive husband and divorces him she then meets another young man and after some time she falls in love. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
This is a very enjoyable story to read. Both Logan and Riley have a very interesting and troubling past. You must read this book for an enjoyable relaxing time.
This overtly Christian story had great characters, both touching and really funny moments, and no preaching. You'd think that with two hurt-by-previous-lovers people would move slowly into a relationship, but these two fumble right in. Communication is a bit of an issue. They have no problem talking about some things, even serious things, but that's not Riley's, the girl, first course of action. But, man she's got guts!
Logan is a total sweetheart. He's strong in his faith and patient.
