The timely topic of today is...the future. For many, the outlook is gloomy. But according to David Brickner, Executive Director of Jews for Jesus, Christians can offer a message of a future and a hope. Future Hope Takes a look at biblical prophecies and offers insight into God's prophetic timeline. The book's easy-to-read format, helpful charts and appendices, and evangelistic bent make it appropriate for the scholar, the new believer, and the seeker.
There's really nothing new or profound here. Brickner basically takes standard Baptist, pre-millinial eschatology and throws in a few Jewish insights. I'm not saying that the Baptist view is wrong. I'm just saying that I was hoping for a more "messianic" view, with a stronger Jewish perspective. While there is a strong Jewish perspective in this book, that view takes a back seat to "traditional dispensationalism."
I LOVED this book. A concise, easy to understand summary of the end times. The way he explained the story from Adam and Eve til the new Heaven and new Earth was simple, yet profound. Makes me stand in awe of the plot God is writing that we're in the middle of. Come, Lord Jesus!!
