One of the fondest memories of Christmas for me was reading the family's Christmas books during the holiday season. They meant more to me than any of the animated specials on TV. This is why I so enjoyed "The Snow Globe and Other Holiday Stories by the ever prolific writer Jessica Lucci. It is a seven chapter anthology of eclectic Christmas themed stories that even include "Festivus!" The titled story, "The Snow Globe" has a Dickens "A Christmas Carol" vibe and yes, there is a ghost who saves the main character just in time. Fans of Ms. Lucci will recognize characters from her steampunk books as well as some from other winter tales. The last story, "Steampunk New Year" has an appropriate ending, both for the book and how to bring in a new year in a very spooky way. So often we hear "_____" makes the perfect Christmas gift. Well I think this book is the perfect stocking stuffer for friends and families who love to read. I highly recommend it.
