Reader, dreamer and frantic scribbler. I really do believe that love conquers all... and make terrible things for my characters to survive to prove it! (insert evil laugh here)
Written in first person by AVA YORK, Gamepoint is the 4th book in the THE ALIEN GAMES series and switches between the perspectives of Emperor Brannic of the Draksian Empire and Sophia of Earth. The series is set where 5 humans and 5 brutes pair up together to compete as contestants on Intergalactic Love Death Match, season 34, ran by a species known as the Snaghians. The first couple to make it to the Altar of Freedom - at the top of Central Mountain (which we discovered in this book wasn't even possible to get to without dying from lack of oxygen) - on the vast continent of Tikalc, on the planet Garglax II (what a mouthful), wins their freedom. It's basically an alien version of the hunger games.
Sophia was a waitress at a small diner in the middle of nowhere, caring for her autistic brother Jake. She was abducted after a long shift and her only concern was winning the contest to get back to her brother.
Five-hundred and fifty-two year old Emperor Brannic was the Supreme Leader of the Draksian Empire, first of his line. He began his career as a Science Officer until he founded the Draksian Empire on the belief they could all mutually prosper through peace and cooperation. Until the Snaughians arrived eight years ago, bringing a war to the Draksian's front door. Brannic lost the battle, but he prepared for every possible outcome and scenario, with being captured and placed into the Intergalactic Love Death Match being one of them. He went through the preplanned steps while progressing along their journey, while his people silently prepared to beat the enemy.
In the 1st book, Emily and Ralkor had the most fans, which supplied the pair with helpful gifts that made their journey super easy. In the second book, Charlotte and Jasek had a few fans, but also a lot of trolls, which sent the pair unhelpful gifts and pranks that taunted them. In the third book, Zelgor and Lena had ZERO fans. They were allowed to keep whatever items they had on their person as a way to help even their odds, since they received little to no help from fans along their journey. In this book, Brannic and Sophia had the help from his Empire, who smuggled them weapons and other devices for the eventual takeover.
First intercourse took place at the 69% mark. Unfortunately, we are back to the author dangling the cheese for so long that it molded. 🙄😒 Brannic was a purple-skinned alien with a tail. Oh, and of course, a thick monster cock. I will never grow tired of the fat alien dongs. 🥳 Sophia wound up being Brannic's destined bond mate, which connected their souls and extended her lifetime. We were treated to only two separate sexual encounters, both of which were hot and steamy perfection. I just wish we were given more of the juicy word porn. 😜
For once, I didn't loathe one of the main characters in the book; which hasn't happened since the very first book in the series. Admittedly, I was a little envious of Sophia's character for landing an attractive Emporer. She was skeptical at first, believing that an Emporer wouldn't want some nobody waitress as a mate. Understandably so. Hell, I agreed with her line of thinking. But the heart wants what it wants, and Brannic's wanted Sophia. 🫶 I did accuse Sophia of being a dipshit at one point; when she unnecessarily suffered from heat stroke. Captain Plorik picked up Jake from Earth and took care of him while the couple continued their journey. Brannic declared Sophia his Empress and Emily a Queen of a planet of her choosing after she blew up a slar. Emily chose Garglax II (the planet they were all dropped on) as her planet to rule. Sophia revealed her hidden blood lust during battle. They faked their deaths so the pair could travel under the radar and away from the watchful eyes of the drones.
Like the last book in this series, the connection with the planet's wildlife was missing. Emily and Ralkor rescued and raised 2 cubs then captured and trained 2 deer as horses. Charlotte and Jasek adopted Fishguts, a carnivorous plant that saved their lives on numerous occasions, and also received a talking Jersey Milk Cow as a gift from their trolls. But Zelgor and Lena didn't add any pets to their story, and neither did Brannic and Sophia, which seemed to make the adventure more dull IMO. 🤷🏼♀️
Overall, I recommend the read. It was the perfect length (even could have been a hair shorter). It had the perfect amount of romance and adventure. I worried that the hunger games knockoff would lose my interest, but it kept my attention the entire way. I found a few things repetitive and unnecessary, but not enough to take anything away from the overall plot. I can't wait to dive into the final book of this series... fingers crossed for a worthy ending. 🤞

Loving this series! Such a different spin on the alien abduction romance with the Intergalactic Love Death Match reality show. I know it’s supposed to be terrible but it seems kinda fun too. Yes the contestants are not there of their own free will, but on the bright side they are paired up with really good partners and despite the hardship of being stranded on and uninhabited alien world seeded with mutation of the galaxies worst predators, they have opportunities to win really awesome prizes from the spectators/fans from ColonyMaster and SurvivalCorp!
So after an epic battle with the evil Snaughians, Galactic Emporor Brannic finds himself in the ILDM game, paired with a delightful human that sets his blood on fire. Sophia can’t believe she’s been abducted by aliens for a stupid reality show, but how lucky her partner is quite an amazing specimen, who is unfathomably kind and understanding to her and vows to help her escape and reunite her with the brother she cared for on earth. She quickly discovers Brannic has an addenda of his own. Which made me wonder if his capture was intentional and part of his plot to stop the Snaughians. He finds many hidden devices within their fan gifts that he uses to cloak their colossal housetank (gift/prize from ColonyMaster) outfit it with antigravity and shields and then fake their deaths as they continue on to the alter of freedom, searching for the other competitors along the way.
He’s a five-hundred year old Emperor that has ruled for centuries. Sophia is a twenty-five year old waitress from Earth. What could they possibly have in common.
Sophia is attracted to Brannic but knows their time together is limited so she expects nothing to come of her infatuation. Brannic is all in, totally in love with her, but he never says anything to Sophia.
They’re dumped in the desert but Brannic has a plan. He, obviously, wasn’t born yesterday; Turns out he has a plan.
This couple’s experience in the game is completely different from the other three couples.
I thought this entry in “The Alien Games” was the best so far!
These two contestants are different than the others. One is a brave, feisty, determined waitress while the other is a warrior emperor fighting for his people. While they may not seem appropriate for each other, emotionally and mentally they are more alike than most. There’s lots of excitement and danger to capture your attention
Gamepoint, Book 4, in the Alien Games series is fantastic. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite and can’t believe the series ends with Book 5. Boo Hoo. Brannic and Sophia’s adventure is full of action, hot loving, and intrigue. Love that Sophia is as bad*ss as Emily. Proving no matter what are role is we are adaptable and survivors!
This fourth book is entertaining and filled with action and adventure. Each book just gets better and the chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for the next book. I received this book 📚, as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Ava York's book are always a must read and this series is a must read.
Emperor Brannic and Empress Sophia are fated mates. There love for each other touches their soul and makes them ones. Ava, this series was incredible and u can't believe there is only one story left!
This book is much, much better than book 3, although no where near as funny as the first two books. The story is back to being cute and entertaining. We FINALLY see a way for those little green to actually get their comeuppance!
Brannic has come with a plan and then he meets Sophia. They will work the plan together. Of course they too must meet the challenges sent their way. Next book please!
What do an Emperor and a waitress have in common? The have both been captured by the nasty Snaughians to play a very profitable game on a remote planet. Tons of very lethal creatures want to eat them.
Sophia was abducted and installed in the evil death/love match with Emperor Brannic. I enjoyed how caring and understanding he was with her brother Jake's plight and set her mind at ease. Their story is full of passion and nurturing. I am voluntarily leaving my review of this ARC.
Ok this was good closer to a five 🌟 than all the others. Idk why I can’t pinpoint it but the emperor was a classy dude. What can I say. Sophia was a class act all by herself. I could even see her in a friend !!!! Yeah the tail helped out too. I’m a sucker for a tail 😆
Taken by aliens, Brannic and Sophia end up in an Intergalactic Love Death Match run by the cruel Snaughians. How will these two survive the challenges? Enjoy!
I liked these characters so much more than those from the last book. The dialog was still an issue for me- sometimes too dry and proper, other times too melodramatic.
The Games are about to get really, really interesting. Brannic and Sophia level the playing field in this book and I can’t wait for the final book in this series.
Did not picture most the of the book’s adventures and their way of bonding. Loved the humor. Looking forward to last book. Hope it has the new world in it as epilogue
