STORY:
I liked the the plot for this story line, and like Alpha King, with the female character, Alpha Boss has the same female character that is strong, a fighter and an assassin that becomes weak sexually when in this Alpha Boss’ bed.

Natalia is human and is in search of her sister who was kidnapped. Adrian is not human and will help Natiala rescue her sister. In between rescuing her, these two steams up the sheets. Although I liked the steamy encounters with Natalia and Adrian, I found the connection ok. Again, love the plot and action and I thought Natalia’s opening scene and how she took out those men were exciting.



SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sex scenes were good, spanking, a little tying with a dominant controlling alpha male and submissive woman. If that’s not your thing, you won’t like this book.


SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
No one really stood out to me in this story. Everyone played their positions, but no one I am swooning over to have their own story.


OVERALL:
Good storyline, a little action, steamy sex, but found the connection between Natalia and Adrian ok.

And trust me when I say their meeting is combustible to say the least. I thought my Kindle was going to go up in flames!!

As Natalia hunts for her sister, she will discover that there really are things that go bump in the night. But she meets every challenge head on despite Adrian’s warnings to let him handle the situation for her. But Natalia is stubborn and determined to rescue her sister. What things go bump in the night and will Natalia find her sister in time? Can Adrian save them both and still have Natalia? Who will come out on top as the new kingpin of Vegas? I’m not gonna tell, you will just have to read the book and trust me it’s worth your time.

I love Ms. Fields’ books and I highly recommend Alpha Boss. It has everything you could want in a romance. A strong Alpha shifter, a sassy independent female, the mafia, action, a few other surprises I won’t mention,and really HOT sex!! Adrian Black is definitely my new book boyfriend and he will be yours too!!

Biggest waste of time this entire year. I was really getting into the story. I liked the fact that Natalya was a bad ass girl out searching for her sister. Then the fuck head male lead decided that he wanted to see her to give her "information" and he gave it to her but then what? He decided that it was time to play 50 shades of grey after triumphantly declaring that he was against human trafficking. This makes no freaking sense what so ever. And I usually like sub girls in dark romances but Natalya didn't need to be dominated. It is so bad, I want to give you a zero but that's not possible so I give you a one.

Given that Adrian did little for Natalia in any way, shape, or form, I'm at a loss as to why she developed any feelings for him. Since all he gave her were orgasms, he ended up being little more than the human shifter version of a vibrator that she could have easily disposed of. I liked her strength; he was a nonentity.

I'll also add that given that he leaves her alone while tied up, with no way of getting out should, say, the building catch fire, his protestations regarding her safety rang hollow.

These D/s stories where women instantly and without any real fight give themselves to men totally unworthy of them, who do nothing to earn their submission, and whom they don't need are tiring...

This story, set in Vegas has a lot of danger and steam. Natalia Kotov is tasked by her father to find her sister. Her sister Irina was abducted by a sex trafficing ring headed by Banu, the devious character who wants to make lots of money and thrives on the power he'd like to develop more of. The Asamire Vampires want to take over Vegas which Adrian won't allow to happen. Natalia is a kick @ss assassin who fights hard and rarely if ever fails, until she meets Adrian, who is her fated mate and dominant wolf shifter. Their pairing is strong and very stimulating when they team up to take out the vampires who are trying to take over Sin City. Natalia has a unique weapon to help eradicate the evil vampires, Sun Bullets! The danger, angst, sex and deadly enemies keep the story exciting and the pages turning as you try to keep up with who's who and who can be trusted or what could possibly happen next. I can assure you, we do get a HEA in the end, so rest easy, it'll happen eventually.

On her own personally mission to find her sister Natalia (FMC) ends up in Sin City. Where a human/Supernatural turf war is brewing with human trafficking right in the middle of it all. In the course of her finding her sister Natalia's mission collides with Alpha Adrian. Things definitely steam together. Although i liked that to me it felt like the spanking.........etc took up most of the book and i would have liked more story. As well as more of the relationship (out of the bedroom) between Natalia and Adrian. That being said i did enjoy reading it. It was a pretty good read all round i thought

This was better than Alpha not by a whole lot but I liked that Natalia was a bit more independent and she didn't give in right away.

Now how was this a rescue mission and she didn't once interact with her sister? She didn't rescue her, make sure she got to safety, have a talk with her, reassure her, nothing! Even after, when they got back to Belarus, there were no interactions. In fact, it didn't sound like the kidnapping affected her sister at all! I mean I know it was just a plot device for the MCs to meet but still there could've been something there.

Started off way stronger than I anticipated and I was really into it - then it took a nosedive. The very promising strong h turned too (sexually) submissive too fast. H didn't really have a personality except being your typical "strong and domineering alpha". To me there was no real connection, as they didn't even really spend time getting to know each other. Somehow uncertain whether mates in this universe are fated or chosen.

Why do I do this to myself 🤦‍♀️. Every once in awhile I want to read a nice smutty book 🔥. The book description talks about spanking. I don’t like spanking. Oh no 😳. I get the book anyway. Then skip lots of the smutty scenes … that I got the book for … so I don’t have to read about the spanking.

Good thing Sara Fields does some interesting storytelling. Will I learn from this experience shrug 🤷‍♀️.

Natalia is an elite assassin looking for her missing sister Irina. Adrian is the alpha of the pack and boss of the Vegas mob. Natalia has never been in a situation that she can't handle but Adrian is a complication she didn't see coming. Adrian instantly knows Natalia is his mate and will have her. Plenty of BDSM elements and steam make this an interesting read.

I think every reader could describe this book differently. There are so many different elements that readers will have to decide what stands out to them personally.

Natalia Kotova is a trained and very good assassin. She is embarking on the important journey of finding her sister who is believed to be trafficked from Belarus to Las Vegas. She starts her journey with a bang but runs into a wall until she meets Adrian Black. He has managed to work his way into the mob life present in Vegas and owns a hotel/casino. He has the information that she needs and offers to help.

Natalia is instantly attracted to this man and in awe of his strength in power. The assassin is caught by surprise to find out Adrian is a shifter. Adrian has the urge to have and dominate Natalia right from the start. She is important to him. She is his mate.

To me, this book is about an alpha claiming his human mate. A mate that does not know or understand the mate bound. She is used to doing things on her own. This book will keep you entertained and enthralled with the different storylines. Will Adrian get his very independent mate to succumb? Will Natalia free her sister? This book is hard to put down. Sara Fields has a knack for making readers comfortable with uncomfortable situations.

Shifter vs. Vampire PNR - Assassin searching for her sister, found her Alpha mate instead

Part of the Wolf Kings series, but can be read as a stand-alone. There are common themes, but do not share any characters or overlapping timelines.

This is a wolf shifter PNR that contains scenes stereotypical of the genre. It also has acts with dubious consent and other potential triggers. Please read the following for examples.

⛔️ Contains references to, or detailed scenes, with subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including: adult language; derogatory terms; insta-love; fated mates; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, restraints, sensory deprivation, spankings and “bottom” play for punishment and pleasure, dubious consent and/or consensual / non-consensual acts, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, torture, assault, murder, torture, human trafficking, enslavement, subterfuge, harassment, stalking, betrayal, etc.

There are several grammatical issues throughout, primarily incorrect word choice, missing and extra inserted words. I am trying to make sure I mention these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

I love a good, rough play PNR, so I am happy that this story was a little bit better about consent than the previous story in the series. I still included a warning for anyone that finds this a trigger / offensive, but it is much clearer that the initial punishment may not have wanted, the intimacy was mutual. I think the storyline / plot and world building has great potential, with lots of spin-off series possible.

Here is a high level overview of how the story begins:

Adrian is the Alpha of the wolf shifter pack in Las Vegas, which has been controlled exclusively by vampires before he was able to finagle his way onto the strip. He was able to able to form a loose type of relationship with a nomad vampire, so between her support and his mentor, a human owner of casinos, Adrian was able to purchase a casino.

Natalia is a world class assassin, with numerous contracts completed. Her father, an ex-KGB agent, started training her with various types of weapons at a very young age. Natalia is now on the most important mission of her life, to locate and rescue her younger sister who was abducted in Belarus by human traffickers. Natalia figured out where she had been taken, so she let herself to get kidnapped by the same group.

Her research indicated that her sister would be in Las Vegas, so Natalia was able to study the blueprints of most of the casinos in the area. So when she woke up tied to a chair, she spotted a crate from the Tropicana. Fortunately that was one she was familiar with, so she worked on getting out of her restraints and listening for anyone near. Natalia could hear men talking, but nothing in her vicinity. When she got to her door she wondered how these guys kept anyone … loose ropes, door not locked, no guards …

Natalia was able to easily arm herself when she found a guard sleeping. She used those weapons and entered the room where several men were discussing the women they had, the action they each had planned for the non-virgins vs. the virgins, all of whom the local vampire clan was purchasing. She immediately shot two of the men to show that she was serious and meant business.

Before long only one remained and she was able to make a deal with him for information about her sister … who had been taken by vampires?!

Adrian’s second in command told him about a rumor of a new player in town, so he reached out to his mentor for additional information. His mentor explained that she was a very good professional assassin, told him about her actions, that she is looking for an abducted female, and he would appreciate Adrian’s support in finding her. He agreed, Adrian didn’t support any female being trafficked, especially if their use was going to be feeding vampires. His mentor sent him pictures and for some reason he became fascinated with Natalia’s picture …

'Alpha Boss' by Sara Fields is a very dark story with interesting characters and an intriguing plot that tells the story of Natalia Kotova, an assassin, and Adrian Black, a wolf shifter. Natalia is in Vegas looking for her younger sister who was kidnapped from Belarus. Natalia gets snatched by the white traffickers on purpose to find out about her sister. The story she hears is that vampires that are running are running Vegas now and they have her sister. Now she has a name to hunt down.

Adrian Black owns one of the hottest casinos in Vegas called Lupo. He only wished he had to worry about card counting but he also has to deal with vampires feeding off his patrons. He wanted to be a success so he could bring more wolf packs to Vegas but he had to tread carefully with the vampire family, Asamire. Then he heard of a human hunting for her sister that the Asamire bought. He arranges to meet Natalia and discuss the situation. When she showed up at his penthouse he realized she was his mate. He was going to have fun taming her. Now if she would just let him rescue her sister and stay out of trouble they can start their life together.

This book started out great with Natalia showing her skills as an assassin and getting the information about her sister but then it took a turn when her and Adrian got together and he had to pull out all the BDSM right away and show her who the boss was. Some of the sex scenes seemed a little bit gratuitous and unconsensual so it was a bit bothersome. The actual storyline and everything outside of the bedroom was very good and well written. Therefore I'm a little bit torn on this book, but if rough and semi-forced sex doesn't set off any triggers then this book is for you. If they do set off triggers you can skip over those parts and still enjoy a good story.

A fantastic action filled Wolf Shifter, Vampire and Assassin filled read

Natalia was searching for her younger sister Irina who had been taken from her university and she had tracked her to Las Vegas now she had to discover where she was being kept, why and who was holding her. She had done and seen many things as a renowned Assassin that had an excellent reputation, she never missed and she was about to discover that Vampires were in fact real.

Irina was being held by Vampires and she was not the only human but the reason was not yet known however, with the number of vampires converging for this invite by special invitation it could be nothing good, Natalia had to recover her and then she was going to ensure that the vampire numbers was significantly reduced.

The Lupo pack was well known in Las Vegas and when the Alpha had first been hunted by the beautiful assassin, he had instantly known she was his, he found her courage, bravery, sharp tongue and sass everything a Queen have, his “Fated Mate” was something else.

The night of the gathering had been something that would go down in history of Vegas, Adrian Black Alpha of the Lupo pack of wolf shifters had also arrived and has assisted his mate with her little plan. I will not spoil the outcome for other readers but I can assure you that you will not be able to put the book down once you begin reading.

The assassin and the shifter oh my!

Natalia Kotova was purposely captured by human traffickers in Belarus and taken to Las Vegas in order to inflate their ring to save her sister.
Natalia is an elite assassin and easily escapes her captives to take them by surprise where she then extracts information to help find her sister. After a twist and maybe fate she gets a call from Adrian Black who has solid information on her sister. What she doesn't realize is he is going to be a force to be reckoned with and she won't be able to shoot her way out of his hold. From the instant they are in the same room you can feel the push, pull and intense tension growing between them till it explodes. She soon realizes that not everything is as it appears and there are unexplained things that she can't explain. He agrees to help her find her sister but there are conditions which he soon finds out she didn't accept. Will she survive the monsters that come out at night in time to save her sister or will she end up in the den of vipers as their snack? Can he find her and her sister before it's too late? Will she stay or will she run? Will there be a new ruler of Las Vegas? Sara gives you everything in one amazing story a kicka$$ sassy take no prisoners female assassin, a strong hot alpha wolf shape shifter, mafia, action suspense and twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Oh and yes there is lots of steamy sex and spankings galore.

He was able to form a loose relationship with a nomadic vampire, so, with her support and his mentor, a human casino owner, Adrian was able to purchase a casino.

Natalia is a world-class assassin with a proven track record of completing numerous contracts. Trained rigorously by her father, an ex-KGB agent, she mastered various weapons from a young age. Now, Natalia is on a critical mission to locate and rescue her younger sister, who has been abducted by human traffickers in Belarus. After pinpointing her sister's location, she intentionally allows herself to be kidnapped by the same group.

At the same time, Adrian's second-in-command brings a rumor to his attention about a formidable new player in town. Seizing the opportunity, Adrian contacts his mentor for more details. His mentor makes it clear that Natalia is an exceptionally skilled assassin, fiercely determined to find an abducted female. He emphasizes the importance of Adrian’s support in this mission, knowing that Adrian stands firmly against the trafficking of women, particularly when they are intended to be exploited by vampires. She ends up stumbling into a world where her guns and her wits may not be enough to get her back out safely; he is the Alpha Boss in both worlds and is going to take greate pleasure in dispensing discipline on one very naughty girl's behind for not obeying him.

Natalia knows that her sister was stolen and trafficked into Las Vegas with other girls. She thought it was to be a sex-slave. What she never expected was to be used as a blood-whore for vampires?!? As her world-view shifts, she seeks help wherever she can find it and in this case it happens to be with the leader of the line wolf pack, Adrian.

Once Adrian sees something he wants, he takes it and the feisty, fiery temptress calls to him. He just has to punish her first for that mouth. Oh what a punishment it is. But has no fear, the fire burns bright within Natalia a she leads him on a merry chase as continues to try to save her sister all- the- while stay a set ahead of one possessive wolf.

Expect a solid plot that keeps you engaged, lots of power exchange, domination, enough spanking that your bottom may feel sore for the poor girl, and HFN

So much potential BUT felt flat!

I really wanted to love this book, towards the middle of the book I was going to settle with liking this book… but the way Adrian treated Natalia- it made me hate him & also this book. Then on chapter 9 pg 174 when he was whipping her with a whip/crop where she begged & cried for him to stop- which he didn’t. He wanted to teach her a “lesson” not to run away from him. At the end she said that even though he beat her she felt a sense of “security & safety”—- WHAT 😮 seriously?!?
All he wanted to do was Conquer her, break her. Make her believe that w/out him she is nothing & will be nothing. He broke her spirit & after all that beating & after he took her against her will.. she said she loves him! WoW!
Finally the story got a little better (end of chapter 10) when she threaten to kill him with a knife to his neck.. she made him promise to let her & her sister go home & also to leave her alone forever. He agreed to the 1st one but the 2nd no… he would keep his people with her for her protection since she is probably wanted by the vampire’s female make since she killed her mate. At the end she ended up marrying & probably behind sex slave 😤

Natalia is a woman you do not want to mess with. She is looking for her sister and she is going to find her. When she confronts one of the mob bosses in Vegas, she hears a tale that is unbelievable, Vampires. Really??!! The Asamire Clan has her sister and they are slowly taking over Sin City. She’ll find her even if she has to kill every Vampire. Adrian and his pack are slowly making there move onto the strip. When he gets word about a woman that has taken down some of the bosses, he is intrigued. When these two meet fate has slapped Adrian with one powerful human female. Taming her is going to be tough but she gives him a challenge that he can’t resist.

I love that Natalia kicks butt. I can see her as a cross between Alice from Resident Evil and Selene from Underworld. She is always armed and takes no prisoners. YES!!! Then she meets up with Adrian. NOW we have a fun, hot and heavy match. These two are great in combatants but better in the sheets. Adrian is no shifter to be messed with. He paces himself in a slow take over. And he does have allies across the shifter world. This was a great story. I loved it.

Okay buckle up this is a wild ride be prepared for some danger, suspense, kidnapping and oh so much more. When Natalia arrives in Vega’s looking for her sister who was taken and being an assassin the skill set helps her in more ways than one. Adrian sexy as all get out shifter who owns the hotel and casino, he isn’t an easy man to get a read on but right now she needs to stay sharp, on her toes if she wants find her sister which started out as her only goal. But the moment Adrian realizes she is his mate there is no going back she will be his completely and not to convince her of this fact isn’t going to be easy, but he usually gets who/what he wants and that happens to be his mate. The chemistry is insanely intense, the punishments are sizzling, and the need for control (especially with him being an alpha) is always present so saving his mates sister becomes his problem as well but will they get to her sister in time, are they in danger, will she accept him as her mate, and can they find happiness?

Wow what can I say this book kept my on the edge not only wanting to find out it all turns out but on the edge of being hot and bothered in a good way and I do love a strong independent woman and I love an alpha taking charge and punishing his mate disobedience. Natalia Kogova is an assassin who is on a mission from her father to find out who abducted her sister Irina and while undercover she get a lead that her sister could be a blood whore to the vampires in Las Vegas but after killing the men holding her captive she heads to Vegas. Finding out a man named Adrian Black has information she goes straight to him and upon meeting each other the chemistry is off the charts but now is not the time to act on those impulses and when she defies him she gets a sound spanking for crossing the line.Hot hot. Can these two work together and save her sister and can they defeat the vampires and can Natalia the assassin let Wolf Alpha Adrian into her and still do her job or not. To find out get this book you will definitely love it.

Natalia Kotova is one bad a** woman who not only knows how to eliminate someone but is ruthless in doing so. She is an extremely accomplished assassin but her present goal is to find and rescue her kidnapped sister. Humans and vampires alike will learn she is not to be messed with. Adrian Black is probably the only person that can get the best of her. He and his wolf know she is their mate. Let the games begin. If you aren't into sexual situations involving some light BDSM and exchanges of power, don't read this book. Otherwise, know there is lots of heat between the two of them.

I really liked Natalia and her determination to get her sister back as well as how she fought. I admired how she was able to get into the thick of things although Adrian wasn't as delighted with it as I was. He definitely was an alpha who required submission. I wasn't thrilled with his domination of her but once she was on board with it, I was okay. The vampires were interesting and the ending worked well for peace.

She goes to Las Vegas, where her sister is being held, only to find out that it is vampires who are keeping her. Looking to Adrian, the Alpha wolf of Vegas, the atmosphere is electric when they meet. She is his fated mate, and he will stop at nothing to claim her. He wants to conquer her. When Natalia insists on being the one to rescue her sister, Adrian will punish her, then he will claim her. By the time he is through, there will be no doubt she is his, and she will be very sore, inside and out.
Sara Fields is one of the best authors in the genre. Her books are deliciously dark, and she pens feisty, self-sufficient heroines and men who force them to submit, and never break them. This book does not disappoint. The second in the Wolf King Series, it is a stand-alone. Five out of five stars, this is well worth the one click.

Who knew that Natalia Kotova would find her mate on her quest to find her
sister who had been kidnapped by sex trafficers. Certainly not Natalia. What
an enigma she was.A complex character who surprised her enemies who did
not take her quest seriously. No man had ever got the better of Natalia until
she meets wolf shifter, Adrian Black who turned her world upside down. She
fought Adrian tooth and nail, but he left her in a puddle of emotions with his
domination of her mind and body. Adrian was determined to have his mate.
To protect. To love her. To punish her. Throw into the mix the Asamire vampires
on a mission to take over Vegas, and you have a dynamic situation.

I thought Natalia was going to be a one-dimensional character but she surpriseed me. Volatile and in control one moment and putty in Adrians arms the next. Love the book. I was left in a roller coaster of emotions and was happy with the HEA.

Ms Sara Fields is an expert in the Dark, Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance Genres. I’ve enjoyed numerous novels by her and travelled quite the unexpected journey in each one. “Alpha Boss” is no exception. I know what I’m going to get with Ms Fields. She doesn’t hide the fact that she loves to write novels that are quite dirty and include activities between the H/h that the reader probably wants to stay in their fantasy world, This novel started out with a “bang” and held my attention from start to finish as Adrian and Natalia execute pushes and pulls as their dominate personalities clash as they move towards their HEA. I’d love to see more novels written so we get the chance to learn more about Ms Fields’ take on the species we met in the novel. There seemed to be plenty of material for a Series to be developed from it. *hint*hint*!

So this started off really well, the MFC was a complete bad a$$ and had such a fighting spirit and then we meet Mr tall, dark and handsome who happens to be a shifter and again i got good vibes, however for me the sex scenes were a little OTT! I have nothing against spanking or dominance, but he seemed to take things way too far for his punishments and she rolled over pretty much and accepted it, which for me went against how independent and strong her character was.
What saved the overall book though was the story itself, i loved the danger involved, the action and suspense. Even some of the sex scenes were still hot, it was just they didn't seem to stay true to both characters and that was my main issue.
I would still recommend if you are in the mood for a quick action packed plot, with some decent (albeit OTT) sex scenes!

She soon finds out that the human mafia doesn't have the power it once did, and in order to free her sister she will have to take on a powerful vampire mafia clan. Adrian Black is wolf shifter and the only shifter in Vegas to own a successful casino. He is intrigued by the young human woman who seems determined to take on the most powerful vampire mafia clan in the city, when he meets with her, he didn't expect to find out she is his mate.
Sizzling hot, exquisitely erotic read with BDSM, spankings, rough sex, and unexpected twists in the plot. Well written, sexy, and fascinating characters brought together by Natalia's need to save her sister, and Adrian's need to claim his mate.

Alpha Boss is the second book in the ‘Wolf Kings’ series but is a complete standalone. It’s the story of Adrian Black, alpha to the Lupo wolf pack of shifters, and Natalia Kotova, a human ass kicking, no nonsense, feisty assassin. Natalia is searching for her missing younger sister when Adrian offers to assist her - she refuses but Adrian knows instantly that he has found his mate. OMG! what a fabulous story that had me captivated from the very first page.

A sizzling hot and erotic read that includes spankings, rough and intense sex scenes and BDSM, so avoid if this is not your kink. Otherwise, it’s a compelling novel that you won’t be able to put down. A fabulous, highly recommended 5 star read!

Repetitive, no actual romance component

These types of books for me are a quick read to just switch off and enjoy some steam - this book has very intense BDSM/d-con elements that don’t bother me as long as there is a relationship build in there and any semblance of aftercare - this is just the same steam scene over and over - the characters say “I love you” despite only speaking 5 sentences to each other in the whole novel - I felt that there was no actual romance to it, just dominating and sex and that’s it - there needs to be a balance - in the end it wasn’t even enjoyable to read, as there was really no development to the characters that you would expect in really any book
- would not recommend, will not read again, will promptly forget it’s existence once I finish writing this review
