Tom Percival writes and illustrates picture books (you know, for kids) as well as illustrating books written by other people. The most well known of these is probably the excellent Skulduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy.

He grew up in a remote and beautiful part of South Shropshire. On reflection this seemed rather more remote than beautiful, owing to the fact that he lived in a small caravan without electricity, mains water or any sensible form of heating. He thinks that he’s probably one of the few people in his peer group to have learnt to read by gas lamp.
Surprisingly enough he has never been called ‘hippy’ (to the best of his knowledge)

Tom now lives in an actual house with his girlfriend and their two young sons.
His favourite colour is turquoise and his favourite number is usually seven.

Tom has three picture books available, Tobias and the Super Spooky Ghost Book, A Home for Mr Tipps, Jack's AMAZING Shadow and a fourth, Herman's Letter will be publishing in October 2012 through Bloomsbury

Posted Review on behalf of my daughter who did a review on IG @parithebookworm

If you have loved the big bright feeling series, I am sure you are going to undoubtedly love this whole series.
There are three books in the series
1.Erika And The Anger Mare
2.Chanda And The Devious Doubt
3.Silas And The Marvellous Misfits

I liked each one of them so much that finished it in two days itself and let me tell you have been reading all over again.

It teaches us valuable lessons in a fun way.
For example Erika and the Anger Mare taught me to control my anger else Anger Mare will be chasing me in my dreams.
In this book Erica also became a part of Dream Defenders which is a top secret organization.

Interesting Fact
The third book, Silas and the Marvellous Misfits is also a Marcus Rashford Book club choice.
To add to it, there are activity packs available on the link given below

Go ahead and read this series. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Enjoy reading!!

This was a bedtime read with my 7yr old. He absolutely loved it and asked me to get book 1 since we accidentally started on book 3.
For anyone who's little is having issues sleeping due to bad dreams I highly recommend this series. There is so much more to these stories but my little really connected to the DREAM DEFENDERS because he often has bad dreams. Now he goes to sleep ready to go through his own portal to the dreamscape to help Erika, Silas, Sim, Wade and Beastling fight nightmares and keep them away.

Tom Percival I can not thank you enough for the difference you have made to this little boy.

Star rating from the kid, and I agree with it. This was loads of fun to read aloud, very easy to get my mouth around, and it carried us along. Brilliant cover too, the kid chose this one in a book shop and bought it with his own money! The next ones are on our list.
