Serendipity … You’ve Got Mail. If you like NYC and romcom movies, you’ll love this.
From the bestselling author of SOMETHING FROM TIFFANY'S (now an Amazon Prime x Hello Sunshine movie!) is another glittering New York novel to make you fall in love all over again.

Movies are Beth’s passion. She dreams of a life filled with classic romcom moments, and her boyfriend Danny is the embodiment of a Hollywood hero. Though after seven years together their initial silver-screen romance has since settled into something more predictable.

One morning at work, Beth receives an anonymous delivery with a cryptic invite to a meeting at Tiffany & Co. From there, she finds a series of other gifts and riddles directing her to some of NYC’s most iconic landmarks; a romcom-themed treasure trail perfect for a movie-lover to decipher.
Has Danny realized that their relationship needs a boost―or could it be charming new work colleague Ryan who wants to sweep her off her feet?

Following the trail takes her on a whirlwind journey throughout twinkling Manhattan's most beloved movie settings, before taking a decidedly unexpected turn.
Will one last gift mark the beginning, or the end of Beth's love story?

What a lovely cover to convince a reader to one-click for a holiday story! Too bad the illusion ended at that point – because there was so much potential for a terrific and magical treat.

I was really looking forward to this one and saved it for a cold and dreary December day. A trip to NYC would certainly brighten the mood with visits to those special and classical traditions the city offers. Well, not many of those specialties were exhibited. The storyline lacked plot and character delivery as well. And with that second chance to get it right insinuation, the sky was the limit in the Big Apple for love!

Less a Christmas romance….

More an exercise in annoyance.
He is cheating on her, but she seems fairly ok with that. Moving on.
Then comes the ‘treasure hunt’ that evidently has no point, and no end.
It very well may be a ‘Christmas romance’, but at this point, I have seen no evidence. I don’t care for ‘mystery’, ‘scavenger hunts’, nor ‘treasure hunts’. I’m giving up.
For me, this is a total fail. And I’m not even mentioning the grammatical errors, the typos, nor the lack of editing.

This was a novella of around 70 pages but I was annoyed to discover that it ended at the 78% mark, just when I was expecting something serious to happen.

The story itself was okay, but that was all - no tension, no real character development, ,nothing to make me care about the characters. If anything, it read like a tourist guide to Christmas in New York - what to see and do.

A damned shame, because the cover deserved a far better story.

Treasure Huunt

Beth is sent on a Treasure Hunt with all the clues based on books she read . All the books are about or based on Manhattan. Beth keeps trying to figure out who could have set up the clues.I enjoyed reading the book and recommend it as a great Christmas read.

Fascinating Series of Events Develop Into Great Book

From a well known writer comes a beautiful and touching story of love through difficult times. Invoking the use of romantic movies set in NYC, Beth, the star, has been in a seven-year relationship with a successful businessman and she becomes concerned if he is going to ever pop the important question after all this time. She is ready to move forward and he appears to be stalling, leading her to believe that he is involved with someone else. A number of clues are set in motion, giving her reason to solve the mystery leading her to find out the special person is! And the plot shows the support their memories of past events propel them to lasting happiness!

I was pleasantly surprised that this was more than one book with different stories. To avoid confusion I only reviewed the first one. But the remaining stories are very cute hallmark like holiday romances set across New York. All are very quick reads.

Penny suffered the loss of her husband and shut down for several years before going to spend the holidays with her friend in New York, however her best friend has some very romantic motives and wants to set penny up with her husbands friend Mike.
This was a very quick read for me, and was an adorable romance story of people who know what is it to lose a loved one and trying to build connections after such a loss. Even if one’s loss happened when they were a child. With one very happen ending.

I was misled on this book. I thought it was one continuous book. Instead it was several short stories, which I don't really care for. One book was very short...like 2 pages long. Another book was 14 chapters long. Didn't make sense, especially because of the first and second shorter ones
I wanted more than that. The author just leaves you hanging. Having said all that I did opt for 3 stars just because I've always been fascinated with NYC and would love to see it at Christmastime. The author did a fantastic job of describing the scenery so the reader could imagine all of it so that part I loved. Had I know it was going to turn out like it did, I probably would have skipped it.

Almost a Blockbuster…

I read the reviews before reading the book. Honestly the range of responses tells the story. After Thanksgiving every year I only read Christmas novels through the start of the new year. Believe me when I say, this one is very good…the plot is sweet. Sadly, it just got bogged down in some of the details for me. There were a ton. If you’re into classic movies and enthralled with NYC, this is definitely the book for you.

I wish I would have read this sooner than starting it on January 8, 2022. I absolutely loved this book and all the twist and turns. It makes you realize not to assume unless you have the entire story. I love the epilogue but would have like to seen more of it...if they got their forever with children.

The grammar needs to be fixed.

I loved the storyline, but the were do many grammatical errors that it interrupted the flow. If those were corrected then it would be an amazing story. The characters are realistic, the way the story was mixed with movie themes was amazing, and the description of the New York sights were spot on.

On page 33, Danny threw the key in the river. But page 282 says something completely different about the key, and it plays a pivotal point in the plot. How stupid does the author think her readers are?

Um?

Started as an exciting mystery but in the end it presented an unexpected turn. Had to re-read the last few pages to really figure out what really happened.. May just be me but it was like a double twist of two ends until those slippers finally made one ending the real thing.

love this book

Second read, waited long enough to forget just enough to keep turning the pages. This story would make a great movie if it were left alone and simply transferred to the screen.

Very very powerful

I think this is the most powerful love story that I have ever read. The ending really surprised me. I never seen it coming to that ending. What a great job of writing.

Rollercoaster Emotions

I have read several of Melissa Hill’s books and enjoyed each one. This story, however didn’t follow the usual light romance format. There was some mystery and intrigue as well as heartbreaking thoughts. Don’t want to spoil the ending. Well worth reading

Not Great

If you're looking for a Christmas book, this is not it. It is also not very heartwarming as it turns out. I did appreciate the movie references.

I chose 4 star because I did like the book but found the clues to be a bit tiresome. Overall, I liked it.

This is one of my favorite new books. It’s a book that can’t be put down, and isn’t easy to guess the ending. It’s very well written, and uses a great array of movies of New York.
