Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.

My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.

I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

I'm extremely addicted to caffeine and enjoy drinking coffee and lattes.

On to the next trilogy, that are all connected.I like the world and the plot, plus a bonus I like all of the main characters. My main complaint is repetitive monologue and the recapping, if someone can’t remember let them reread the book.

Alright, this book is way better than the first two in the series.

The action amps up a bit more, and we get some answers as to who the big villains are, and the story sets itself up for the next books in this world.

As always, Sterlyn and Griffin continue to be strong, and I love her character. The romance is alright, and at least it gets time to develop. I will say though that the other love stories in the other books from this verse are WAY better than this one.

Julius is actually Sterly’s brother and she is the heir to the Silver Wolf pack. Sterlyn’s uncle gets killed trying to save her, which was kinda dramatic, but still made me sad. Really not a death that was needed, but a lot of characters continue to die throughout the series.

Overall, a solid trilogy for the start of this new book verse, but I’m gonna tell you the later books are way better without a doubt.

This is such a phenomenal series. I said I was going to take my time but, I lied. Once I started I had to see it all the way through to the end. Wonderful characters and chemistry and amazing storyline. So much action, danger, lies, secrets, love, forgiveness, deception and amazingness! Awesome narration.

Series review: if the writers of Bluey did a teenage version of TrueBlood.

I can’t lie the mystery and action pack story line - I really enjoyed. However, I’m convinced this was written for teenagers which is fine! If not, I’m stunned.

“If you fart the wrong way, I’m gonna come in and beat you up”

Back to my review:
A young silver wolf finds her pack being slaughtered by bear shifters. She escapes as she is the new alpha of this secret silver wolf clan and is being hunted so she can be a “breeder”. (Oh there’s wild and extreme sexism in this series and it’s acknowledged) She meets an alpha during her escape and asks her to fake date him (huh?) and then she meets his bestie who is the alpha of another wolf clan that lives in a sheltered city and the first thing he says to her “I like my cream only one way” and maybe three days later our silver wolf FMC is realizing she’s fated mates with her fake boyfriends bestie.
After multiple attack and long story blah blah blah. We finally get some answers in the last two hours of this book.

At the time I thought this was terrible but I was also in a chockhold over this mystery I definitely felt entertained.

Of course the graphic audio production was great. One character narration was super flat which made the dialogue even more cringy at times.

Continue at your own risk. Borrow from your local library.

Spoilers below if you just need an answer to the mystery but can’t keep listening to childish dialogue- I got you!

Was OK, a bit basic. I didn't like the FMC that much. Sure she was badass Hut sometimes I found her a little too stuck up and full of her own self importance and the MMC, well he folded into a softie (not in a good way) the second he realised she was his mate, no push back at all.

Sterlyn is such a fighter! There was so much that happened in this book and while we got a HFN I am sooooo looking forward to more from the Shadow City world. There were so many ups and downs twists and turns. Watching everyone’s relationship grown and build into something truly beautiful was fantastic. Sterlyn and Griffin becoming that United front that everyone needs to proceed and work as one unit. There were definitely some heart breaking moment that I wasn’t expecting that seriously gutted me. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Okay, the last book was much better than the first two. It all came together. The world building, characters gain more depth and story.

I enjoyed the chemistry and banter in all three books.
♡ Sterling the FMC is a good character.
♡ Killian is a strong side character from the start to finish.
♡ Rosemary, instantly, is interesting and funny with an edgy side, and that's before it's revealed she's an angel.
○ Gryphon, though, is the MMC and has a little shock alphahole tough guy vibe... but pales compared to the others.
♡ Even Sirus grows as a character and makes more of an impact to me than Gryphon.
Then again, it really is her story, and from the look of the other books in the Shadow City universe, there are stories linked to all the characters I mentioned as being well built. This includes Alex the vampire, small appearance but bigger impacts.

To me the steamy moments and could be smut falls flat, it sounds hot in the beginning, then it just fizzles out, like the author is not able to use the right words to make the passion hot. Also lack of adventure in their moments, and they have woods, cars, and more to have steamy moments in...alas it's always in a bedroom and just meh.

In all, it is a starter to a universe of books, so maybe it's not so bad considering there is more to come from this world.

Book threee has more action, great banter, and chemistry, world build is stronger as we are introduced to Shadow City world more. There is a death which did make me a little sad, but there is also a HEA, and the ending had me smiling and chuckling. Can't be a bad read if it can get that reaction in the end.

Great Trilogy

I loved all three books and it was awesome the action and the love story. Th characters are well developed and I would like to see more from the angel side. Also they leave a lot to your imagination and wonder who else finds their mates.

I listened to this series on Tempt but it felt unfinished. I’m not sure if that’s because the books are or if it’s just the audio.
What I liked was the strong feminist undertones through the whole series and the found family relationships. There is a fairly equal urban fantasy inter-species power struggle plot and fated mates romance. So it was fun.

(hoopla) meh. It was all very OK. We finally discover what is going on and why. Take down the threats, reunite the pack, and live happily ever after. The characters still don't have much depth. Neither does the world-building. But it's entertaining enough.

Some plot twists, some heartbreak, some love and happiness

This is the final book in the Shadow City: Silver Wolf series, and I loved it. Sterlyn, our heroine, can’t seem to catch a break. Every time they seem to move one step forward, they end up 3 steps back. But she’s tired of being on the defensive and getting caught with her pants down. They need to figure out who is behind the decimation of her pack and why they are after her. Once they figure that out, all bets are off.

Oh man, this finale had it all angst, surprise appearances, heartbreak, hope and lots of love. It was quite the page turner. A lot of the open ended plot points from the previous 2 books were sewn up. Some “surprises” I saw coming and a few I didn’t. All in all it was such a satisfying read. Really, my only gripe is that I wish the entire trilogy wasn’t told exclusively from Sterlyn’s POV. I get why it was, it was really her story, I just feel it would have been a fuller experience to get into a few other character’s heads.

I absolutely loved the girl posse in the series too. On paper, given their personalities, they should never have meshed, but they really did. I do think that the secondary character of Sierra was a bit underutilized, as she was mostly comic relief, but it would have been super cool if her badass quotient was dialed up to be nearly matched with Sterlyn and her Angel friend, Rosemary. I also thought that the character of Killian, the Shadow Ridge alpha, who rescued her in the first book, was also a bit underutilized . . . Not to the extent Sierra was, but I wanted to see him contribute a bit more to the storyline than a few one liners. While he may not be as pivotal as our main “alpha pair,” he’s still a very important character. I said it in a review of one of the previous books, and I’ll say it again, I loved that she was the better trained, and better fighter than her male alpha counterparts. When she was in a fight, she was ALL IN.

There are very few steamy scenes, so if that’s your jam, you’ll be disappointed. But if you want a good, light paranormal romance with some intrigue, you’ll like this NA series.

Sterlyn is a great alpha, she exhibits all the qualities in a good alpha. Such as the wisdom she cares about, she thinks logically through things, she has enough heart but does let it completely lead her. She protects everyone and listens when others talk to her. She's already an alpha to her friend circle and she doesn't even realize it.

Killian and Griffin were a hot mess before she came along. Killian, her brother from another mother, needs someone to live for, a comrade, he got that in Sterlyn. Griffin was lost but Sterlyn ground him, enabling him to look at things and take the responsibility that was meant to be his. While the aloof angel, Rosemary, warmed to people, I have a feeling she was very closed off before and Sierra finally has someone to connect with after the death of her best friend. Sterlyn did all of that, she made their life better, and in turn, they gave her a family when she need one the most.

Jen really outdid herself with this book. This world is so complex with the detailed histories between the supernatural races, the complicated backstories of some of these characters, the different supernatural cultures, and how they differ, not to mention the complex politics all make for a good story. What really got me was all the plot twists, it was revelation after revelation. No stop action and the political games that Sterlyn and the gang had to keep up with just took the story to a whole other level.

That ending blew my mind, Silver Moon was fantastic! The Silver Wolf trilogy may be over but we aren't done with Shadow City yet. Things are far from settled good thing there are a few more series set in this notorious series. Looks like the series are gonna be interconnected to tell a larger story. Best of all it's set in the same world as two of Jen's previous series take place and I'm hoping to see a few familiar faces. Speaking of familiar faces looks like a certain cocky vampire prince is up next.

WARNING!!! This is book 3 in the Shadow City: Silver Wolf Trilogy. You will need to have read books 1 and 2 in order to understand this one.

Let me start by saying that I hope we get to see more of these characters and more of this world in future series’s. This book didn’t really end on an HEA, it was more of a HFN ending. There are still threats at large, however Sterlyn and Griffin do kinda get their HEA. Based on what I thought of book 2, this book did exactly what I thought it would. It felt rushed at points, but because of the slow pace in book 2, that makes sense. As for the characters, I really loved getting to meet Griffin’s mom. Based on some of the things you hear about his father, I was worried she would be against a woman leader, but no, she was amazing. Rosemary really grew on me throughout this series, and getting to meet her parents, as well as learning about their history really helped to explain the strange bond that Sterlyn and her had. I was a little worried that Sterlyn’s brother was going to turn on them in the end, but he really changed, and I hope to see his character again. I do wish that Sterlyn had stood up to Griffin more in this series, even when he was falling back into the sexist ways that Shadow City had been lead with for years. There were a lot of plot twists in this book, between learning who was after Sterlyn, to who was causing problems in Shadow City, and not all of the problems were solved in this book, so I hope to see them solved in a future trilogy. I would also love to see some of the council members in Shadow City be taken down a notch. Overall this was a good trilogy, and like I said, I hope to see these characters again in a future series.

I received this as a free ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Whew. Lot of action in this one and more answers about the silver wolves and who was after Sterlyn. It isn’t fully resolved since the actual buyer(s?) is never revealed. We also have the over-arching issues with Shadow City itself with the corruption and the division between races. I liked the developments with Cyrus/Julius and the rest. Also enjoyed the vampires - looking forward to seeing more of them. The banter between the characters is fun.

I do find it a bit interesting the silver wolf pack lived so close to such a major shifter city for centuries yet no one ever found out until recently.

“Silver Moon” is book three in Jen L. Grey’s Shadow City: Silver Wolf series.

Ok so I finished this last night and it’s taken me all day to get my thoughts together. Ms Grey you have out done yourself with this series and characters. I can not wait to see what you give us from this world, with so many other characters as options for stories this universe is going to be so exciting.

I love this series, Sterlyn is such a cool character. Always trying to do what’s best for everyone but herself. She is the most selfless character I’ve ever read. She is strong, loyal, bada$$, funny and a beacon of hope.

I love the dynamic, banter, loyalty, friendship and bonds between the group; Sterlyn, Griffin, Killian, Rosemary and Sierra. Especially when choosing the movie lol.

Everything has been leading up to this moment since Sterlyn’s pack was brutally attacked. It’s now time to get those answers, justice a bit of revenge on those who destroyed Sterlyn’s world. Although things didn’t start off the best for her, meeting Killian was probably the best thing to happen to her and she now has a family and friends that she will do whatever is needed to protect , just like they would for her.

Though Sterlyn and Griffins story is over I am like a little child on Christmas morning jumping up and down with excitement waiting to see who will be next.

This is a review of the Silver Wolf series as a whole. I thought the books were just ok. I DNF the 3rd book, because I got a little bored with it.

What I liked:
- MFC was badass
- pacing was fast and there was a lot of action
- single first person POV (I prefer this because you don’t know what the other characters are thinking/feeling right away)

What I didn’t care for:
- characters all seem pretty one dimensional and I found that I didn’t really care much for any of them
- MFC was way more badass than MMC, leaving the MMC seeming pretty weak
- insta-love —> there is very little build up, chemistry, or sexual tension with the main couple - MMC goes from being a total playboy to deeply in love after like 3 interactions with the FMC
- the two MMCs start off seeming like boys (not adults) - in fact, the overall story felt pretty YA

Steam:
There were a handful of open door spicy scenes, but they are rather short and not very explicit (would give the spice a rating of 2/5)

Audiobook Narration:
Narrator’s voice didn’t seem to fit the character well. Her voice was too old and raspy for the FMC and the MMCs sounded young. Prosody was good, so overall decent.

Silver Moon is the final book in Shadow City: Silver Wolf series and it is a must to read each book in order because where one leaves off the next book picks up.

In this epic conclusion to the Silver Wolf part of Shadow City, Sterlyn and Griffin have to get to the bottom of the threats and problems to keep Sterlyn and the silver wolves safe. Read to find out what has to be done by Sterlyn and Griffin, with the help of those they consider family, to achieve justice and right so many wrongs. Expect twists, surprise allies, betrayals, friendships and of course love. Remember that family isn't always the ones that carry the same DNA. They are the ones there in the good, bad, and everything in between. The characters in this series have become like book family. The story of Steryln and Griffin is just the beginning to Shadow City and I can't wait to see these characters to return and to find out who will find their fated mate next.

Uhmazing!!!!!! I loved book one and really loved two, but the third one left me screaming yay and wtf every other page!!!! I love that the next leg of the series will have Sterlyn now interacting with the werewolves and how the characters storylines will intermingle. You Ms. Grey have a fan for life!!!!!!! I loved the unique origin of the wolves and the faction’s backstories. Rosemary and Sterlyn being kin, Cyrus returning, and poor Uncle Bart from discovering his dead brother and pack, to discovering both of the twins were alive. The way he took his brother’s son in to help heal his heart! The twin bond. The heartbreak Cyrus felt fearing to get his hopes up. Becoming Sterlyn’s beta/leader of the silver wolves when she was working with Killian and Griffin to unite Shadow Ridge and Shadow City! I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Luna. I hope to Hell she’s not Cyrus’ mate down the road…Ahhhh perfection!!!!!!!

🐺 The Silver Mate Series by Jen L. Grey 🐺

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶

Heroine / Supernatural
Good vs. Evil
Romance / Mystery
War / Action

I READ THIS SERIES BACK IN 2023

After stumbling across the broken mate (1st book) in my Kindle store, I was hooked!

I absolutely fell in love with the storyline and all the main characters, so of course, I downloaded the other 2 books of the Silver Mate series, immediately 👌

5/5 ⭐️ is my rating. I loved these books, so much so that upon completion, I went straight to my Kindle store and purchased the rest of the Shadow City Collection. I only wish I could find the collection in paperback as these are books I'd reread and love to see on my bookshelves.

Needless to say, if you like to escape to a supernatural world that has a strong female lead and dominate, protective males, with battles, mysteries, and friendship, then I highly recommend these books 📚 🙌🏻 ❤️

Super fun paranormal with great world building and strong found family vibes. Each sub-series has its own story arc, but there is bigger political drama unfolding throughout the series. Overall, you’ll like this series if you like good vs. evil plots, political drama, fated mates, alliance building.

The only negative is that I feel like each subseries should have been one book. I find that each individual book ends in an odd place, but each series has a good conclusion.

Although each sub-series can be read as a standalone, it’s much more enjoyable to binge in order:

Silver Wolf Series:
1. Broken Mate
2. Rising Darkness
3. Silver Moon

Royal Vampire series:
4. Cursed Mate
5. Shadow Bitten
6. Demon Blood

Demon Wolf Series:
7. Ruined Mate
8. Shattered Curse
9. Fated Souls

Dark Angel Series:
10. Fallen Mate
11. Demon Marked
12. Dark Prince
13. Fatal Secrets

Silver Mate Series:
14. Shattered Wolf
15. Fated Hearts
16. Ruthless Moon

I'm slightly disappointed and annoyed as I thought that this final book would have a fantastic climax and ending, but it didn't. I felt like it wasn't a complete or satisfying ending to the trilogy. I didn't really love how the author built the romance between the main characters. I didn't feel it was believable to have a playboy fall in love so quickly.

I didn't think either of the male leads were believable as alphas. They seemed too weak for me and not very smart. I liked The FMC well enough but didn't love her in this book as much as I had hoped.

I am disappointed because I loved the first book but sadly the sequels weren't as good as the first to me. The writing is decent and the initial humor might have been the only thing that kept me reading till the end.

1.7 out of 5 rating for me!

Silver Wolf

I’ve enjoyed Sterlyn’s story and even though it’s the end of her story she still part of the shadow city series all together which I always love when the characters get their story and you just know it’s all un finished business after the end of this book. I think it also helps reading this huge series in order too.

The silver wolf 3 book series is a sweet, finding love, a home, family and take on the bad guys.
A FMC with a tough attitude with badass vibes and cares. She wants to make a difference, her family and friends proud and make changes for the good. With that said I’m looking forward to each of these collection of series come together and where it ends. It’s been a good start and on to the next.

It’s time to take what is meant to be Sterlyn and tell everyone the truth about her. Always trained to be a leader. But when the shifters took her family and slaughtered them. And now her long-lost brother who she thought was dead, is now working on the wrong side of the coin. Can he really see through all lies and deception or will her brother always be her enemy?

This book started alright in my opinion. I love the story, about a silver wolf who has taken her place even when she is the last silver wolf. I loved the first one but as I continue this trilogy it just hit home for me. The writing was repetitive, everything was told plainly. There wasn’t really a moment where I had to ‘think about what was going to happen. You know in a story where you’re all like “Oh, my! What gonna happen now???” I mean I felt that way with the cliffhangers. So, I think it’s good the author did do that because that made me want to know what happened next. But humbly, I just wanted MORE. A better description, and better character depts. So, I’m giving this trilogy a 3.5 star because I did love the werewolves and all that. Again, love what the author was trying to do but for me personally, it just didn’t hit home.

This book was just okay. While the plot follows some familiar tropes, there's a comforting predictability to it, like revisiting an old friend and knowing what to expect. The characters, while not undergoing drastic transformations, have their own unique charm that remains consistent throughout the series.
However, I must admit that the book feels a bit drawn out and wordy, which made the reading difficult to read at times. At times, it felt like the author copied and pasted very long recaps, and that made it hard for me to fully immerse myself in the story.
The ending felt a bit too obvious for my taste. While they started to build a better connection with the angels and other supernatural characters, the lack of surprises took away some of the excitement I was hoping for.

Overall, I loved this trilogy and could not get enough of it. As soon as I finished one book, I had to immediately pick up the next one because I needed to know what would happen to these characters. I was invested! Overall, we do get a conclusion to all the chaos, but it was an open ending. That's because the other series will add to it. Instead of focusing on the same characters, we now focus on new ones, like the vampires in this world.
On the one hand, I cannot wait to see more of this world, but on the other side, I will miss Sterlyn. She might come in on later books since she's now like the head Luna. Still, she won't be the main character anymore, and I will miss her. I didn't pick up the next book because I wasn't ready to shift focus.

Thankfully, this picks up right where book 2 left off so you’re thrown right into the action. (Again: I strongly recommend reading this series in order.) This installment is completely action-packed and also heavy on the corruption/ /lies / deceit / betrayals and as a result there’s lots of alliance formation and pack politics as well.

Strap in and pay attention, because if you blink, you could miss something important. It was so much fun, that I listened to it twice. Highly recommend and will read on in this world.

The author has brilliantly designed every aspect, which makes for juicy political drama and high-level corruption.
