Ernest Dempsey is a huge fan of action/adventure thrillers and science fiction.

He has been creating stories since he was in high school but never published a book until 2010, long after the days of high school were gone.

His action & adventure books come from a lineage similar to Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, Steve Berry, and James Rollins. While his science fiction novels are full of influence from Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games, The Matrix movie, and Gladiator directed by Ridley Scott.

He is quickly becoming one of the hottest fiction authors in the book world.

If you are a lover of Ernest Dempsey's Sean Wyatt and Dak Harper book's, you will be in for a surprise with his next outing with Gideon Wolf.....It's not for the fainthearted!

I absolutely adore this new adventure from one of my favourite author's.

When Gideon hosted a charity venue for his latest exhibit on the treasures of the Purepecha civilization with his wife Amy, little did he know who would be attending.

After his speech Gideon was introduced to Vicente Carrillo the notorious head of the Mexican cartel.
And he had an offer for Gideon....find an age old talisman for five million, and a trip to Mexico where they think the necklace was last located.
As soon as Gideon refused the offer Vicente's gave him an envelope containing photos of his wife Amy having an intimate relationship with Alfonsa Garcia.
So either take the offer or his wife will be exposed.

Gideon is heartbroken, he thought that Amy was the love of his life and she felt the same.
Once back at the hotel room, Gideon tried to talk to Amy about her affair but she was too drunk to respond.
What happened next changed everything for Gideon as Vicente wasn't going to take no for an answer and when he broke into their hotel room and killed his wife and made it look like Gideon had done it in a fit of rage.

After kidnapping Gideon and taking him to Mexico he had little choice but to help him find the talisman but little did everyone expect that Gideon has an age old powers that will only appear to the rightful owner!

Ernest Dempsey tackles a completely different genre than his fans are used to seeing: Psychological Thriller with a touch of Fantasy and Horror.

This is a very promising short story, written well enough to generate lots of reader interest, and even the basis for a future series.

Being an ARC version, there are still a few issues needing correction, some of which may have been done before the Vella version was published.

[Reading interrupted by other commitments, thus the long time span. This is the complete ARC version, not the Vella episodic version.]

Ernest Dempsey's Gideon Wolf (Season 1) is about what happens to the archaeologist when he is kidnapped by assassins of Vicente Carrillo's cartel. Very exciting. I was given an ARC copy of the full story! I am posting a voluntary and honest review.

Season 1 implied it would not be a "full story", so I cannot complain about the huge cliffhanger...
I liked the story (most of it), although it's a genre I hardly ever touch.
And it was a free gift from the author - so who am I to complain?
