This book is a collection of devotional readings about creativity. Each one begins with a Bible verse, shares a reflection, and ends with a prompt for something artistic to do. The suggested prompts vary in mediums and materials, and although they won't appeal to everyone, there's enough range here that everyone should be able to find multiple that they like.
This is great for people who are very busy but still want to build creative habits into their lives. The book is designed for someone to do one reading and activity per week, and people can adjust the pace to whatever works for them. The readings can also vary in application, and don't assume a particular life stage or set of interests for the reader.
My main critique is that very few of the creativity prompts provide thorough instructions. Usually, the book just tells you that you can find guidance and a variety of ideas online. People who are expecting the book itself to tell you what to do may find this frustrating, and although there are lots of pretty artistic images and photos throughout the book, there aren't example photos of what you could make. This is best for people who want a devotional and creative encouragement with some artistic prompts on the side, rather than someone who is looking for arts and craft ideas with specific instructions.

If you’re a Martha Stewart wannabe or alreadyam, you’ll be able to find a suggestion that suits you in the 52 weeks provided in “The Creative Soul Within”. Writing, knitting, cooking, baking, visiting, sketching, repairing, dancing and so much more are included.
This small format volume is laid out very nicely. Type size and spacing is comfortable and easy to read. Colors are muted and the paper stock is sturdy and not varnished so take care not to spill on it or have messy hands while handling. Both front and back covers have elongated flaps that can be used to mark your place while reading thru the year; convenient.
All things considered, a great gift idea that’s something different in brief, biblical quiet time materials📚

I feel like this one inspired me when I first started it, but as the passion died down a little I found I had other things that held my interest more and found this harder to apply. I also think for it to have worked I should have been more intentional with setting aside time to try some of the things it recommended.
