BUILD GENERATIONAL WEALTH WITH CLEAR AND ACTIONABLE INVESTMENT STRATEGIES Cassandra Cummings, leading financial expert, and founder of The Stocks & Stilettos Society, shows women how to crush their financial goals, overcome their fears, and grow their wealth through the power of investing. Historically, women of color have been shut out of the wealth-building game. Cassandra Cummings has made it her mission to change that by creating a vibrant and successful online community of more than 100,000 women investors. In her new book, Cassandra brings the powerful lessons of their achievements to you. In this book, Cassandra will teach you how Fearless Finances walks you through the keys to building your success squad of trusted experts, as well as women who kicked fear out of the way to achieve their financial dreams. Now, so can you.
This book was actually very good. My only issue is the author’s audio narration is pretty epically bad. The first 1/3 she sounds tired and very sad… which is not the vibe you need while listening to a financial book.
Fearless Finances by Cassandra Cummings is a book I would recommend to any woman; not just a black woman. Cassandra did a fabulous job explaining complicated financial information in an understandable method. I wish I had this information 30 years ago. She shares basic financial info and investing information. Most importantly she shares sound wisdom when it comes to our finances and what holds us back. One of her goals in the book is to provide us with “clarity, confidence and control”
I am going to look into joining her community – The Stocks and Stilettos Society. I had never considered a money mentor. I have several corporate work mentors but no money mentor. She shares how to start your own investing club.
A few of my favorite quotes: “You have to be the best thing that ever happened to your money.” “Hang around positive, financially successful people because you will more than likely begin to think like them.” “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” “When your expectations change, your behavior changes.”
I highly recommend this book. Note: my only disappointment with the book is that she clearly is writing it specifically to black women. Try to overlook that if you are not a black woman and try not to feel alienated. Her book and the information she shares is worth overlooking that.
I didn't really like this one very much. There was some good information in there, but I find it difficult to understand why some authors like to adopt playful and comedic narratives in their serious nonfiction works. Why am I finding "Yaaassss." in a published work? Why am I finding very specific current TikTok references that will certainly be obsolete and insignificant to future readers ("The math is not mathing")? I don't understand how you can complain about not being taken seriously as an investor or professional and then publish a book with this kind of language. This isn't the only place I've seen this, but I HATE it.
I also really hated the first chapter and skipped the second. Why are you saying the first step is "positive affirmations"? "I make unlimited sums of money with grace, and in a perfect way." HUH? This is how you choose to open your new book? I understand the importance of having a good mindset in order to achieve your goals. But there is a difference between, "I can and will do it because I have the means, desire, and self-discipline to do so," and THAT. Unlimited sums of money, eh? How are your readers going to feel when they say that to themselves and see a loss in their investments? "Oh gosh! Where are the unlimited sums of money I was promised??" Realism is just as important as optimism.
I also didn't really like her attitude towards real estate investing. I believe there IS a strong argument in favor of investing in real estate, but when you end your chapter with, "Sis, throw on your 'HGTV' hat, and update and decorate a property," you lose all credibility. Not to mention there is SO much more effort that goes into profiting in real estate than just "updating and decorating."
Final note: her mathematic formulas in some chapters were helpful, but she just didn't write them out in a clear and proper manner. I feel like they could definitely be confusing for anybody who is unfamiliar with financial terminology.
I highly recommend this book if you want a clear understanding to the world of investing and wealth management.
Cummings breaks down the world of finance at levels any reader will understand. The anecdotal stories included are varied and comforting. If you feel overwhelmed just thinking about investing, this book will guide you through it without trying to sell you anything.
Just know, you will want to take notes and probably reread this book as you begin or further your financial wellness!
This book added to my excitement for 2025. I am the disruptor of my family. Breaking many unhealthy traits and behaviors. Although there were a few things I will need to reread. There was a great deal of tips on many ways to generate income essential leading to wealth.
Anytime I pick up a book on finances I always look for those written by women or people of color. The reason is that I have read condescending finance books by the "pale, stale and male" before and the tips in those types of books work really well if you were born into generational wealth and grew up around people with money. Neither of these apply to me. I grew up in poverty and without access to basic necessities like running water or heat. It's sufficient to say that I have a complicated relationship with money!
Long story short: This is why I read "Fearless Finances" by Cassandra Cummings. I appreciate how Cassandra broke down complicated (and frankly, intimidating) topics like Stocks, different savings techniques, etc. It was easy to follow along with the tips and explanations laid out in this book.
If you're looking for a book that will help you create concrete goals around money, then make sure to check out "Fearless Finances"!
I love to read all things about personal finance, so I had to grab this when I saw the author has the credentials I would look for in an advisor personally or as a recommendation. This book doesn't disappoint. The target audience is women of color, although others can learn something here as well. She has the facts, she features the fearless female figures (including a beloved professor of mine from grad school), and she says the important things about gaining confidence and surrounding yourself with the right people. I don't necessarily agree with all her strategies personally (for me) but I even learned a little. I would totally be friends with this woman! Highly recommended for anyone who feels like they are doing the right things but not progressing.

Fearless Finances gives practical advice while utilizing personal examples from the author. I found it informative and a great starting point on one’s journey to get their financial health in check. If nothing else, it showed that we are not alone in our struggle to understand how to manage our way to financial stability and freedom.

I like this book a lot. It was pack with a lot of websites I never heard of. It was full of analytics, an analogies from a true coach indeed. It began slow but became more and more interesting with the Fearless Figures testimonies. The breakdown was much needed because it made it easier to see it through. Definitely glad she wrote this to help a sister out I needed all this information-knowledge she put down on these pages.
