Eva Leppard lives in the Tasmanian bush with an elegantly sufficient amount of children and a disturbingly large number of rescue animals, all of which she raised by hand whether they liked it or not.
For someone who claims never to have enough time to get everything done, she subscribes to a lot of streaming services and also spends an inordinate amount of time of Twitter rather than writing, you know, actual novels

Retelling Her World is a small collection of 11 short stories all about showing women through different angles, retelling some well-know stories with a twist.

I recommend cosying up in bed with a warm cup of tea and read this in one sitting. that worked perfectly for me! I loved reading about all these women, seeing how each author interprets their story differently, trying to change the way we view women in fantasy. I want to read more about women (ghouls, vampires, humans, fairies), sapphic women, retelling and showing a different side of their stories.

Review:

Retelling her world is a brilliant anthology. There is suspense, drama, anger, love, even diverse representation...every single story offers this fresh take on fantasy .
I swear these short stories are better than some of the fully-fledged novels out there.
Reading them was an immersive experience, a wonderful one.
Plus that gorgeous cover is nothing short of breathtaking!!!

My favourites have to be the revenge stories!!! They just made me adore this book more and I can't stop cheering for all the female protagonists (I hear you loud and clear sisters)

If you are looking for a unique intriguing fascinating perspective on fantasy stories, pick this book !!! It releases on November 19 and is available for preorder now !!!
All profits from the Retelling Her World anthology will go to Women's Aid.

Thank you to SmashBear Publishing for gifting me a free copy of this anthology to read and review! ✨

Comprised of 11 short stories with a focus on women, I loved how completely different each tale was from one another and I didn’t know what to expect when delving into the next chapter.

With plenty of variety from witches, ghosts, vampires, fairies, mystery, curses and revenge there’s a story for everyone to enjoy!

Whilst I enjoyed all of the different stories, I think my favourite has to be Ghouls Night Out by Anna Hill - a fun take on a mums evening with a twist! Would definitely read a whole novel about a suburban town with various ‘monsters’ going about their daily business working regular jobs and bringing up their children😂

Also all profits from sales of this book are being donated to Women’s Aid! 👏

A fiery and feminist collection of short stories!
It's well known that I don't gravitate towards short stories because I always find that they're done just as they're getting going. However, having retold and original stories narrated through the feminine voice, I enjoyed the liveliness that took place in this collection.
