As a kid, I wanted to be a writer. After several fun careers, I've finally realized that dream.
It's both easier and more difficult than I thought it would be. When the words are flowing, it's miraculous. I feel like I'm taking dictation, typing the words that are meant to be written.
When the ideas don't come, I go for a run, think about what I would love to read, then start again.
Little by little, stories take shape, characters get into trouble, work their way out, and a book gets written.
Now, with over 17,000 5-star reviews of my books, I feel incredibly blessed that people enjoy my stories.

When not writing, I'm an avid hiker and photographer. I love getting out in nature to take pictures.
Across a three mile radius in LA including a number of their busiest freeways, all electronics simultaneously die. Cars, smart-gear, lights, everything. Is this an isolated attack, or the start of something far greater? Hayley is convinced the whole of the USA is about to be bombed back into the stone age, but she can’t find the proof required to appeal to the powers that be. So once again, Hayley and her former Navy SEAL partner, Axe, are going it alone, determined to save the world.
This book is set just a few months after the ending of A Team of One and I really enjoyed the fact the characters had progressed somewhat after their crazy ordeal in the previous book. Even so, I enjoyed that this book still very much had the feel of picking up just a little after where the last one left off. I loved a few cameos from characters in the first book – and equally adored the introduction of a few more secondary characters that I very much want to know better in the coming few books. This author has a real knack for writing characters I find highly enjoyable and definitely want to get to know better.
I will admit that in some places this book doesn’t have the break-neck speed of the previous book. At first, I thought I’d find the story dragged, but quite the contrary I found it helped build the momentum and, in many ways, kept me eager to turn more pages and find out how everything fit together and how it would all build even further. While there was one main plotline – the EMPs – there were a few smaller threads both supporting and circling around the storyline. There was also an unfinished thread from the previous story. So, while I could understand if some readers feel this book wove a little more back and forth and didn’t simply slam you face-first into the action like the previous book, I honestly feel this added complexity to the plots and the solid weaving together of everything added quite a richness into everything and helped me enjoy the story even more.
The vibrant and interesting characters coupled with the high speed action and the complexity of the plot meant that I practically lost an entire weekend to reading this book without a break and a deeply resented the few times I was forced to stop reading. This book is rather like crack – so be warned: once you start this it will be extremely hard to put it down. While I do feel readers can enjoy this book if they pick it up alone, I would strongly recommend going back to book one (and that book by itself was phenomenal to my mind) mainly because there are a number of secondary characters as well as some small aspects to why Axe and Hayley trust each other so deeply and work so well together that comes from that previous book. This book I think will just feel more complete to readers who have read the first one.
An exhilarating and thoroughly enjoyable action-based mystery/espionage style of book this is a brilliant author and a fabulous new-to-me series that I am thoroughly hooked on. Bring on the next one!
King of the World? Not on my Watch! This is the second book in a series that needs to be read in order. There are story arcs that take several books to complete. That isn't bad because the books are just fine how they are. This story concerns a new madman who wants to be King of the World. He is a superior enemy. Our heroes also have a prior enemy who is still out for blood. The plot is great and well-executed. It is full of the unexpected. There is no bad language, intimacy is alluded to and off-screen. There is a lot of blood and violence. It is getting close to the level of creating nightmares. I am going to read the next book and hope the violence level comes down a few notches.
Totally unbelievable plot, over the top violence, cliches galore, and simplistic one-dimensional characterisation but entertaining as hell. More so than even the fun series opener "Team of One." I wish I could write this stuff and get away with it. This style of writing (Mr Lee's not the only author of this style of story, there are plenty in the age of digital publishing) warrants a genre of its own. Action/adventure/thriller doesn't quite fit. Maybe shoot/stab/kill fantasy's more appropriate? I am looking forward to plunging into the next mindless instalment. Thanks, Mr Lee, for the diversion, an enjoyable way to squander an evening.
Okay to be honest, did not love this one as much as I enjoyed the first.
A lot of it felt repetitive, like the constant reminding of the main character’s beauty and the soldier’s age. You probably get told it 100 times throughout this one book not to mention how much it gets mentioned in the first. It’s just odd and not good writing 😂.
A leftover plotline from book 1 was wrapped up in this book but in a horribly done way. It was built up to be this much bigger thing and then the book is ending and it was given a half-assed finish with no real resolution.
So I just finished reading the second book in the series. Highly entertaining, action-packed, and well-plotted. This story continues some of the characters and plots from book one and adds a new villain and storyline. Building on the main characters with some added twists and turns I found the book a great read. I am always careful in my reviews not to reveal plot details. However, if you like your fiction packed with plausible mayhem, threats to national security, and world peace, then you will love this series. I'm on to book 3 and happy that I found Brad Lee and his cast of characters.
How I wish my circle of close friends included Axe and Haley and Axe's soul/life buddies. How I wish their wisdom and camraderi informed and guided my life too. How I wish Brad Lee's popularity as an author/writer become exponential because nothing should ever stop or hinder his incredible engenuity and creativity and writing expertise from touching the minds and hearts of us all.
Read the first one and it was average, this one not so much. Axe (ex-seal) and Haley from book one are on the trail of breadcrumbs Haley has discovered that lead to LA and areas being hit by an EMP pulse rendering parts of the city without cell, electric etc. This is being orchestrated by a wanna be "God) billionaire with delusions of grandeur.
They are also being hunted by the bad guy from book one (The Assisstant). Which kind of detracts from the storyline of Book two.
Abandoned this about half-way -it just got too boring.
Excellent book. The only reason for four instead of five stars is unnecessarily convoluted scenes towards the end of the book. I will not divulge what scenes I am talking about so not to discourage potential readers, but overall book is great and hopefully, the next one will follow with this small suggestion to take it easy on complicating the flow.
It's pretty non stop action, a few lulls to catch your breath, but then it picks up again As with a lot of books, it seems as though the bad guy(s) have to be doing something that changes the world, rather than some bomb, or shooting. It does make for the stories to feel a tad far fetched even for fiction
I forget how I stumbled onto Brad Lee, but I devoured Book 1, and now 2. These plots are “big” in scope and impact that, to some, might feel “too much”, but I’m hooked. They’re definitely believable and when combined with with great character development, you’re left with books you can’t put down. The only problem is I’m a binge reader, so… onto Book 3.
Haley, intelligence officer and Axe, ex navy seal are out to stop a billionaire tech genius from wiping out all electronics in a bid to become a human god. Ridiculous storyline, good action, terrible sexism with lots of comments about Haley being too beautiful to be able to carry out her job. I enjoyed book 1 but this one was too farfetched even for this genre.
The world needs saving, and America’s most prescient analyst and deadliest sidekick suit up and are back in the fray. This time bringing old and new friends along for the ride!
Extremely well written! Not a big fan of multiple voices, but Lee makes it work. I’ll keep reading A Team Of…
I like this series but I think this is the last book I read. what's ruining it for me is everyone's over reliance on Hailey's ability as an Analyst. I just can't suspend reality anymore for the storyline. she's 21 years old and she's the brightest in the federal government? she solves everything? farfetched.
This was a great action packed book. As a sequel it was great, it left off where the first book ended and now a cult leader with a God Complex is bent on world domination.
The plot is more campy than anything but I really enjoyed it. I hope to see Cody and Bec in future books as well.
Brad Lee has to be one of my new favorite authors! His The Unsanctioned Asset series is a captivating page turner from the start to the finish. Filled with non-stop action, twists and turns, mysteries, and awesome characters. You will regret it if you pass on this series. I'm ready for the next book!
Nice to see a second book in a series that can keep the characters true to form from the first book. Also the 2nd book is just as entertaining as the first. Looking forward to the next one.
had a good story line for at least the first half, then it began to wonder over into a unbelievable story line.for a storyline to hold your interest it has to be possible.
Lee writes in an easy style, with great pacing and above average dialogue. But this book suffers from a completely preposterous turn of events right near the end, and that really takes the reader out of the action.
Action packed sequel to the previous book. Where Will the team go next and what will happen? Will start his next book tomorrow. Another book of his that was hard to put down. Finished in two days.
Good read, slow at first but definitely got better near the middle and had a good suspenseful ending. I like Brad Lee, he is a good author and I would recommend him to others.
It didn't take long to finish this story. I thought it actually started more slowly than the first one, but when it got going, it never stopped. I'll start then next one VERY soon.
It is not looking good for the team as they try to catch up with the one that got away. Axe is in his element, she is still an analyst, mostly, but once again finds herself where the bullets fly. This is going to be tough.
A real page turner. After the first few pages, I was hooked. I had passed up Brad Lee as an action writer, not realizing what I was missing. Brad Lee is an excellent action man. I have many more of his books to read.
Axe and Haley are back at it again. They travel to find the evil that lurks behind the scenes. Lots and lots of action! Some new characters that add to the plot. Excellent book!!
