Het boek vertelt ons het verhaal van William en Kate, van hoe ze elkaar leerden kennen tijdens hun studententijd, en de vele obstakels die ze moesten overwinnen. Hoe hij relatie zich mettertijd verdiepte, en hoe ze daarmee omgingen. De twijfels van William, die wel veel van Kate hield, maar zich niet te jong wilde binden, ook al omdat hij wist dat het niet lang zou duren eer hij zich praktisch volledig aan 'de firma' zou moeten wijden.
Ze zijn zelfs een tijdje uit elkaar geweest, maar uiteindelijk hebben ze allebei beseft dat ze toch bij elkaar horen. Het blijkt vooral William geweest te zijn die eindelijk de klik kon maken, dat hij zijn leven toch met Kate wilde doorbrengen.
Dit boek is geschreven voor hun huwelijk, maar na hun verloving. Ik vond het heel informatief, al is door de hedendaagse situatie wel gebleken dat de voorzichtige speculaties van de auteur toch anders uitgedraaid zijn dan verwacht/gevreesd/gehoopt.

I persevered and finished. It was dull at times, I assume the proofreader also got bored of it with how many typos and grammatical errors there were. It jumped around at times, and some bits were repeated later on in the book.

Let me start by saying I am hopelessly behind with my reading, which is why I am reading this book over three years since their wedding and close to one since Prince George was born. I found it a bit amusing to read about what people thought the future would hold back then, knowing what I know now, but I have more updated books on the couple that I will be reading probably several years into the future. Anyway onto the book. Overall I found it an enjoyable and easy read, it didn't require lots of thinking and it was easy to pass an hour or so reading away. There were things I didn't like though, such as the author interjecting his own opinions and achievements into the story, telling us how he broke this story and that and showing a clear bias for the media, when anyone complained about how intrusive they were. This got annoying after a while, a writer should keep themselves out of the story. The story jumped around at times and was hard to follow where we were in the story, and one whole chapter was devoted to the Queen turning 80 and really had nothing to do with William or Kate, I didn't see any reason for that chapter to even be in the book. But overall the story wasn't bad, easy to read, just some minor annoyances that I would roll my eyes over and then move on with the story. Now to read something a little more updated.

Veľmi, veľmi povrchne a bulvárne napísaná kniha. Ako čitateľ by som očakávala, že bude tento titul z časti životopisného charakteru trochu chronologický, aby sa zaistila prehľadnosť - nič takého sa nedeje. Preskakovanie časov, neustále opakovanie už napísaného a nabaľovanie tých istých myšlienok. Ostáva už len zistiť, či je to chyba prekladu alebo autora.

Not really sure what to make of this Love Story , the story was nice and I learnt facts I never knew about their rocky but fairytale ending relationship. However I found the author very repetitive at times and the timeline very jumbled leaving me quite confused and bored at times.

Eens wat anders dan wat ik normaal lees. Het was wel eens leuk en interessant om te lezen hoe hun hele liefdesverhaal gelopen is. Voor royalty fans of curieuzeneuzen zoals ik zeker wel de moeite.
