Wszystko zaczyna się od jednego pytania: Dlaczego? Mając dziecko sama doświadczyłam tego, żeby zaspokoić jej ciekawość musiałam się sporo natrudzić. „Mame, a dlaczego niebo jest niebieskie?”, dlaczego śnieg jest zimy i biały? Dlaczego płaczemy jak kroimy cebule? To tylko kropla w morzu pytań, na jakie musiałam odpowiedzieć, a może inaczej starałam się odpowiedzieć, ale często, gdyby nie internet nie byłabym w stanie.

Dziś przychodzę do was z odpowiedzią i podaje pomocną dłoń, w której mam książkę, która zaspokoi ciekawość nawet najbardziej dociekliwego młodego pokolenia. Mamy 272 strony, które oprócz cudownej grafiki na końcu ma słowniczek, indeks i źródła fotografii i ilustracji. Kilka pytań, które ktoś z was usłyszał, a może sam je kiedyś zadawał własnym rodzicom!? Dlaczego nastaje noc i dzień, Dlaczego pada deszcz? Dlaczego kwiaty są kolorowe? Dlaczego rodzynki są pomarszczone? Dlaczego kangury mają torby? (sama się kiedyś nad tym zastanawiałam :p).

Uważam, że takie książki powinny być promowane, rozpowszechniane, gdzie się da, bo nie ma gorszej „zbrodni”, jak zniszczyć w dziecku tę ciekawość i fantazję w poznawaniu świata, okolicy, siebie. Moja Hela, mając 11 lat poznała mnóstwo odpowiedzi na pytania, które zadawała jako kilkulatka i sama sobie przypomniała jak oglądała tę książkę. Idealna na prezent, a dzięki twardej oprawie jestem przekonana, że posłuży niejednemu pokoleniu, co jest według mnie cudowne, że wartościowa literatura będzie przekazywana innym.

This book is fascinating! So many great questions like: Why do some people have curly hair and others have straight hair? Why do fireflies glow? Why do flies like poop? Why does my tummy rumble? Each two-page spread has large bright art and "wacky facts" are woven throughout the 270-page book: A bald eagle nest can weight as much as a small car. Dogs can detect two different smells at a time-one in each nostril. I couldn't stop myself from reading page after page aloud to my husband. Great kid-appeal-the 6 yr old grandboy is going to love this one! Hope this book is going to be part of a series.

This book not only gives clear explanations but also explores some questions still trying to be solved. I loved the illustrations in this book, and how it encourages kids to question how the world works. I can see myself having this book as part of my classroom library.

Read the physical book. It wasn’t this exact one it was “Britannica First Big Book Of Why Volume 4 Pets” & we got it in the kid meal that we ordered at Chick-Fil-A. Our son liked the book & was on & off with the attention span since it is a bit of a lengthier book. It was very educational & informative though.

Myślę, że jest to świetna książka do czytania razem z dziećmi w wieku przedszkolnym, a do samodzielnego czytania dzieci w wieku wczesnoszkolnym. Ciekawe informacje napisane uproszczonym językiem, ozdobione ładnymi ilustracjami tworzą spójną całość. Pozycja godna polecenia.

art is absolutely ADORABLE! an anthology of fun facts; kid-friendly (7-10 year olds?), i’d say the visuals definitely separate it from other fun fact books :)
