About the author

Japanese Name: 遠山 えま

She made her debut in September 2003 in the monthly manga magazine Nakayoshi with her story, Tenshi no Tamago ("Angel's Egg", no relation to the anime movie of the same name). Gokkun! Pūcho is considered her best representative work. Tokyopop has licenced it under the title Pixie Pop. All of her works are published by Kodansha, and they are enjoyed mainly by preteen and teen girls. None of her series have yet become anime.

3.5 stars - still really enjoying this, but there seemed to be a lot more info dump/plot complication in this volume. The art is still fantastic and the characters are fun (vampire otaku is a concept that warrants an entire spinoff). I also have trepidation about the overall narrative - I’m hoping for some twists but this whole thing currently reads like I can see the ending coming from space.

Whatever - the rest of the book is a hilarious combo of gender positivity and some mild gay panic (the overall message does seem to be that you love who you love, which is appreciated) that’s offset by how much the mangaka loves drawing sexy boys and also sexy girls disguised as boys in various states of smoulder. Not normally my cup of tea, but here it works.

I will say that everybody in this story clearly has to have the worst cataracts in the history of modern medicine - the fact that nobody can figure out that Mito is a girl, given the encounters in this volume, is actually more ludicrous than the existence of vampires.

I'm continuing with this series and still enjoying it so far! It's very fanciful and a bit like Twilight. I'm more eager to learn about Ren rather than the main vampire that I know our MC is gonna get with in the end.

Ein netter Manga für zwischendurch. Die Storyline ist ein wenig "drüber". Humorvoll ist er aber auch. Die sich anbahnende Dreiecksgeschichte ist jetzt nicht sooo meins. Aber was ich toll finde ist der völlig normale Umgang mit demnThema Diversity. Ich hab an manchen Stellen mit den Augen rollen müssen und hin und wieder am IQ der Charaktere gezweifelt aber dafür ist der Zeichenstil wahnsinnig toll 😍 ich werd die Reihe auf jeden Fall beenden ☺️

This is a cute little vampire series, but I fear I’m rooting for the wrong suitor... It doesn’t do anything new for vampire stories, I know, but it’s fun despite that.

So Ren got more interesting this volume. And Ruka and Mito both got some interesting time to shine. I’m not sure I like the pacing of the character development, but I LOVE the little asides the author has about her daily life she draws herself as a cat and I love that. Those alone would get 5 stars.

If you not reading this series, what are you waiting for? If you like romance than you will like this series! Look like we have a triangle love story. You have two young man attractive to a young girl that they think is a boy. Now they will be questioning their sexually! They never met a boy like Mito! I can’t wait to see what happens next! I hope I don’t have to wait to long!

Je remercie les Éditions Pika pour l’envoi de cette lecture. J’avais été totalement charmé par le premier tome de cette saga, un vrai coup de cœur pour ma part ! J’ai enfin la suite entre les mains et j’en ai été ravie !

Dans le dernier tome, Ren va pour prendre un bain, mais croise Mito. Ce dernier se demande si la personne qu’il voit dans le bain est bien Mito, car on dirait plutôt une fille…

Dans ce tome, Mito va tout faire pour continuer à garder son secret. Mais en dehors du sien, elle va en apprendre un peu plus sur Ren et autant vous dire, je ne m’attendais pas du tout à ça. Ce qui ne fait qu’attiser ma curiosité autour de ce personnage.

Pour l’instant, Luka reste fidèle à lui-même. On en apprend un peu plus légèrement sur le personnage, ce qui explique certains de ces comportements étranges, mais cela reste encore plutôt flou.

En bref, ce tome est intéressant et de nouvelles révélations nous sont faites. Ce qui nous intrigue d’autant plus. J’ai très hâte de voir comment tout cela va évoluer. J’aime beaucoup ce petit triangle amoureux entre Ren, Luka et Mito et surtout les quiproquos qu’il peut y avoir à cause du fait qu’elle se fait passer pour un homme !

This is something that I enjoy read but I wouldn't pay full price for, it's just not that good. The story is pretty basic with the whole love story angle, we get introduced to more characters in this, nothing note worthy. There is a reveal from the non vampire guy, which was pretty awesome. Not because it was a clever twist or anything, it just tapped into some mythology that I quite like. It's very rarely used in media nowadays so I was quite surprised to see it, aside from that you had the mental tug of war. Oh and the vampire is worried that he's becoming gay for the girl who dresses as a guy, even though you know. Pretty sure he touches her boobs in this but doesn't clock, maybe she's just really flat chested who knows.

It's a weird series, as I don't love it but I do like reading it. I know it's getting a physical print in October, I might give it a second chance then.

Though I think the most ridiculous thing about this series is that Mito lived on the street but has long hair, wearing a wig for the short hair boy look. That makes zero sense. Why not just cut her hair short??? 🙄

I wish the next volume was on sale bc this is a nice “I can read if my brain is dead” manga but at full price it’s a bit too expensive imo.

Omg the volume was so good ,i loved seeing more about Ren and learning a bot about his backstory ! all the little scenes between him and Mito were great ! i am starting to like Ruka a little more but i totally want Mito to get with Ren ! i love all of them and i can't wait to see where this story goes :)

Funnier than the first with a few laugh out loud moments. You have to suspend belief that they can't see or smell that she's a girl. The crossdressing shopping was funny. I like this more than I expected to.

Frustrating… I want to know if the Vampire ever figures out his thrall is a girl….. and why he couldn’t tell from the first places…. Too frustrating to read more…. I will probably go back to this at some point.
