BETRAYED BY PASSION
Seneca Radburn knew she wasn't dreaming. The dark-haired, broad-shouldered stranger in bed with her was very real -- and all man. Her face flamed at the thought that she must have shared a night of passion with this handsome man who now angrily accused her of duping him into marrying her for his gold. Her denials went unheeded, and Seneca knew of only one way out of this predicament. She would blackmail him into taking her to California and once they arrived, she'd get away from the devastating brute and his precious gold as fast as she could...

TRAPPED BY DESIRE
She was beautiful, all right, with those big, brown eyes that a man could get lost in. But beautiful or not, the minx had tricked him into marrying her so she could get her greedy hands on his map of a secret gold strike. And no woman was going to take what was Miles Savage's, no matter how much he wanted to feel her slender legs wrapped around him or to caress every inch of her shapely body. He'd go along with her scheme to get her to California and then he'd unload her. In the meantime, there was no law that said he couldn't enjoy "his wife" in every imaginable way…

How do you make out with someone during a storm?

Like, wouldn’t there be wind tearing at you and trees being torn from the ground? Because that’s what happens in this book.

And the intimate scenes, are uh…really intimate as in on a explicit level. I won’t delve into detail, but do know that. I actually put the book down and blinked, confused if I was really reading what was I reading, but that’s what to expect in historical romances like these.

Seneca is the herione, main character, and protagonist of the book despite the fact that there is a hero involved that she falls in love with. Seneca is a pistol-wielding herione, but she never uses the darn weapon despite having it. Despite this, she is courageous and brave. She cares for others and has a big heart.

Seneca has a dark past, and has trauma where she forgets what happened to her father. She journeys to California in order to find through the prairie and through many lands.

Miles is a deep and dark hero. He is brutal and kills when he needs to. He is resourceful and is the main leader of the wagons going to California.

There are a lot of unbelievable instances in the book: getting intimate during a storm going on, a wild attack occurs at the end when Indians ambush the wagon party, and…yeah. Most of the book is traveling, dirty intimate scenes, and Indians.

The end really tore at me, and it was a such wild ride with this book.

I think I will keep my beat up copy though and return to it when I feel the need to do so. I loved it.
