An enchanting, lovely illustrated, funny children’s book about friendship, responsibility, and the love of animals.
Just as she does every morning, Mia is serving breakfast to her best friends Max the brave dog and Luna the playful cat. But wait! Luna is missing! Mia and Max search high and low. Will they find her?
Play “find the error”: For moments of laughter, encourage your young reader to look closely at the illustrations and find discrepancies between the text and the illustrations. You might have to read the story more than once…
Award-winning author Tanya Preminger strongly believes in the power of literature as a means to growth, education, and the cultivation of curious, compassionate, happy children. I'm not a huge fan of this one. I didn't really care for the illustrations, which was a turn off, but I kept reading... that is, until I got to page 10 which contains a picture of a dog lifting it's leg to pee on someone's slippers 'to prevent trespassing and let everyone know this area is off limits'. I mean, c'mon, is that really necessary. A big, fat DNF (did not finish) for this tale.
We loved reading this cute book! I loved all the various responsibilities of each pet! My son also chuckled out loud when luna goes missing and she jumps off the shelf to surprise them! Very entertaining book!
This adorable book is about a young girl Mia, her dog, Max, and her cat, Luna. The three are great friends and are absolutely inseperable. They do almost everything together, like eating, playing, learning, and sleeping. So one morning at breakfast Mia and Max can't find Luna. The two of them search everywhere, high and low, both inside and out. Grab a copy of this book and help them search for Luna. Children will enjoy searching for her from page to page.
This book is a great way to teach children responsibility and how you can have fun while still doing the things that need to be done. It is also a great look at friendship between a child and their animals, and how animals are also a member of their family and must be treated kindly and cared for properly.
Tanya's characters are so thoughtful and caring, very easily likeable and she does a spectacular job with her cute and detailed illustrations. I found myself not only smiling, but also chuckling aloud at most of the pictures. If this were just a picture book, they would practically tell the story themselves.
I would definitely recommend this book. My grandchildren absolutely adore Luna is Missing. They range in age from 2 to 7. I think this is a good age range of who might be interested in this book. I can't forget about the adults, though either. The pictures and some of the sayings will have you cracking up.
I am hopeful that there will be more Mia, Max, and Luna books in the future.
This is a really good book both for the young and the adult that is hopefully reading it to the youngsters. I liked that the book not only gave a perspective of Mia, but also the dog and cat. Some things that I found funny but true was when the dog was marking his spot and when the cat brought a dead fish to share with Luna. And, just like a typical cat, Luna loves to play hide and seek. I think your kids will really enjoy this one. Can't wait for the next installment.
This cute little book has realistic art showing a preschooler and her dog and cat. She considers them her friends and loves to play with them all day. This story starts out from Mia's point of view but then we hear from the animals. Each has their view of their duties and responsibilities around the house. Kids will get a kick out of hearing each view point. But the true humor is that Max thinks that he is a great guard dog, but he is unobservant and clueless. Mia and Max search everywhere for the missing cat, but readers will spy her hiding from them. If they look closely , they will see someone else lurking around. I grabbed both this book and the sequel when I saw them on kindle promotions and I am looking forward to sharing them with a youngster.
This was a wonderful book, full of animals, friendship and humor. Even though I am well beyond the focus age, I enjoyed this book a lot. The story was great, the subtle hints were fun and the illustrations were perfect.
I can't wait to share this with my two great granddaughters, who are huge animal lovers.
Luna, Max and Mia are good friends. They take care of each other and have lot of fun together. In this book you will join them on their adventure throughout their day and you will find out things they do together.
This cute, family-friendly picture book about a mischievous cat can be read in as little as ten minutes. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
