hanging by a thread, with their love and
connection stronger than ever outside of the bedroom I never thought I’d fall in love again.
Until him.
All I want is a love that is
unbreakable.
JEBEDIAH
Having let my guard down, and fallen for someone when I knew better I’ve sworn off guys. I don’t even want to make any new friends.
Until him.
Every moment we share digs me deeper. And makes me question myself over and over. Is he just after a quick root? Or is he feeling the same connection I am?

About the author

Caz May

A writer of loveable Aussie heroes. Queen of Angst and Drama

Caz May is a librarian/teacher by trade but was always destined to be an author from a young age. In her spare time, she can be found devouring books or writing her own stories with characters that may not be the typical romance heroes but are loveable just as much.
Caz is married to her own real-life bearded hero and has two fur babies.
She lives for Iced coffee, especially from Gloria Jeans or a Farmers Union but pretty much just loves food in general.
When she’s not writing or reading a book most likely she can probably be found asleep or binge-watching shows on Netflix.

This is listed as being a standalone novel in both the Lockgrove Bay series and the Bay Hearts series. While it is readable without having read those books - the other books in the Bay Hearts series will be immensely helpful for the understanding of the complicated relationships that are portrayed in this book.

We start with Briston and Braeden moving into their college dorm and scarring their new roomie, Jeb, for life with their bedroom shenanigans. If you’ve read the other books, the early twist will not come as a surprise and I definitely enjoyed the story. There was a lot of angst and drama - and that did seem a bit unnecessary as I was reading but thinking back after, I do understand. Briston just has that personality and I love watching him grow as a person as the story progresses.

There’s still plenty of Ariel and Braeden in this one, which I didn’t expect but am also not complaining about. The addition of Jeb into the mix was interesting and I loved the way the story turned out in the end. The epilogue was amazing and absolutely heartwarming. It was perfect.

Overall I think I’m going with ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 rounded up. It didn’t get me in the feels like the other books in this series - but it was still great.

I have not read any books in the series, I don't know if I would rate this book differently if I did.
Let me start with the good for me: the development of the relation between Jeb and Briston, it took a while to get where they end up. The way the four take care of eachother. The less okay for me: The throuple between Bri, Brae and Ariel did not feel as an equal relationship; which turned out to be the case. The bad the throuple later on felt more like not wanting to let go of the past as did the foursome with Jeb. The triad between Bri,Brae and Jeb felt truer to me. I also felt the author could have given more attention to Jeb using coke and marijuana; it seemed he used before but there was no elaboration and was never mentioned again.
I also like they all get a hea, apparently they still 'get together' at the end of the book, but it ia not really clear. The seem more like two separate couples.
This book has MM/MMM/MF/MMF/MMMF scenes.

Another take on college relationships with a twist. I almost didn't finish it, but I stuck with it. And I'm glad I did. There's lots of sex between all of the characters, but it's college and that's normal. Right? All in all, well written, I liked the characters in this book and am thinking about going back and reading the other books that are mentioned by the author at the beginning of the book.

A slow burn, unbreakable connection between Jebediah and Briston. Their emotions were intense and felt through their words. Upset that this was supposed to be a standalone but it was obvious that there were missing pieces.

I never thought I'd say that a book has too much sex in it. Books have stories and for the ones I've read, the sex tends to be incidental. In this book, I felt like it was nearly all sex with little story. And the sex was a bit repetitive and not overly descriptive. The storyline that was there was ok but it had little depth. I understand there are other books in this series which I did not have a chance to read. Perhaps there was more character development and story line in the earlier books that I missed. I also found myself feeling that age of the characters seemed young for what they were experiencing. If they were perhaps 10 years older, it would have been more believable. The story takes place in Australia and uses words that I assume are common there but not in North America. This wasn't much of a problem, but it did mean I had to look up a couple of words. If you like books with A LOT of sex in them, you may enjoy this. If you want more of a story, it may not be for you.

ARC Received

Before reading this book, I do recommend you read the Bay Hearts duo as I think it gives you more understanding, especially about Briston.

If you enjoy a mixture of MM/MMM/MMF and MMMF then you will enjoy this book. The romance is a mixture of tropes so it’s very different to what I’ve read before.

The biggest attraction of this book for me was Jeb, he is a demisexual gay guy, and I do feel his character and development of his sexuality felt very real and wasn’t rushed. Is aligns nicely with his developing relationship with Bris which is a slow burn, but fits with Jeb and how he deals with his sexuality.

This story requires being open minded and that there are different ways love can be experienced and seen, and that there can always be a HEA.

Jedediah met Bri and Brae on the elevator going to his room didn’t realize that they were roommates. Kept turning Bri down for going to bed with him, Brae, Bri and Ariel were always having threesomes. She got pregnant, Bri got tested and found that he would never have children. Bri put his relationship with Jeb in jeopardy but was worked out. The 4 of them had a good relationship. Good book!.

Briston and Jebediah's story was packed full of heat!

Their relationship was complicated, but I really felt Jeb's character was more than adequately flushed out. I was left with a complete understanding of who he was and how he overcame his struggles. Having the right partner can also make a difference.

I received this ARC for my honest feedback.

Different and Unexpected . . .

This story focuses on a relationship between Briston and Jebediah. There are aspects of the story that I had not been anticipating. But focusing on the development of their relationship and the growth of the characters presented a good story line. Unusual but intriguing.
