I found this story really hard to get into, I think the level of abuse was shocking. Once I got into the story though, I enjoyed how the story changed and became a story of triumph.
Started out strong then took a wrong turn for me. I finished it but the last half just didn’t work for me. Without giving away too much, basically things happen in the story that come out of nowhere and I felt like they derailed the storyline. I also felt like there was a lot of useless filler padding to story. I also didn’t care for Catalina in the last half. Evidently the story continues in another book but I will not be reading any more.
I was so intrigued at first, this book really should come with trigger warnings though. The abuse, rape (by multiple men including her own brother?). Skimmed some. Interesting side characters and not the typical wolf story but towards the end I was bored and there is a Book 2 that now adds another love interest.....No thanks.
DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. Absolutely loved this book. Each chapter had me hanging on the edge of my seat. and the fact that this is the authors first book I’m very impressed. I can’t wait to read the sequel!
An incredible debut for this author! The story was compelling and it grabbed and kept my attention and the characters are relatable. I found myself so invested in the main character. I can’t wait to read more from this amazing writer!
I read this book on one of those ‘pay per chapter’ apps.
Sorry but I gave up with this book. It started out great but the way this book went was it would focus on something hard for a few chapters, then the next set it was like it never happened, the story line wasn’t even completely tied off when they did ‘flashbacks’. She is supposed to be some powerful wolf that will rule them all, but she also has a phoenix inside her, but she is supposed to trust everyone but no one will trust her and explain anything which makes it all very confusing and you get so sick of hearing someone say ‘trust us’. Cause she is supposed to be ok with going through all the hurt and betrayal from her friends but it’s her fate so that’s ok. Then again it’s not like she does seem affected by it which is ridiculous. Oh and the fact that she has a mate, he rejects her due to fate, gets a new mate and totally loves him and marks him yet he dies and nothing, no distraught tears nope just back into bed with her first mate, after literally just having sex with the other mate, and it’s not discussed!!! I got two thirds through the book then gave up.
