This is my completely impartial review.
Continuing where book one left off, Cal, Max, and Travis are living quietly and peacefully in Montana and have pretty much adjusted to life acting as human as possible. The only problem now-- Cal keeps having dreams that lead her back on a dangerous path and to a new interesting love interest.
I think it's safe to say I didn't enjoy this installment nearly as much as I enjoyed the first one. While I like the trio and I liked the direction of the plot, I found a lot of what was happening/being said to be rather repetitive. There were also moments I felt like should've been put in book one (some things with Cal's heritage and its importance for example). I also hated the whole Max and Isabelle thing, I felt like that was kind of thrown in there especially when it wasn't completely clear whether or not Max would stop sleeping around based on the conversations in the previous book.
I don't know, I just wasn't really feeling how "long" this book was compared to the first one when there wasn't necessarily much going on. However, Suriel was a nice addition and he seems cool so I look forward to seeing what role he plays in book three.
