Lovolution 23: Poems and Songs

Rate this book
"Plants are fine and sunlight grand, but nothing's like a book in hand." - Ballad of the Disillusioned Child, Lovolution 23As a young woman, Signe wrote hundreds of poems and songs. They allowed her to process her intense emotions and to heal while witnessing the incomprehensible events of the time. She lived outside of society for years, with no media, often without electricity, out in the far reaches of the western most province, as west as west gets before it becomes east again. The cities and the economy to her were like sores upon the earth, so her poems are from the unique exploration of a disillusioned child before the millennium. These were written between 1990 and 2021 and are an inspired compendium of love and revolution songs with a good dose of meditations, photos and paintings. She has won several awards for her music, poetry, art and design and is a fixture on Canada's Indie Art and Music Scene.

Signe is dedicated to the joy and glory, in poem, song and story; to finding delicate and poignant ways of increasing the navigational range of thought, bringing about positive progression, for herself and the receptive eyes and ears of those who peruse these pages.

Given the beauty all around,
The melody in every sound,
Inspiration and love abound,
Let me share the magic I have found.
May we receive all concepts with open hearts and minds.
To refute them we must understand.
To understand we must experience.
To experience we must embrace.
To embrace we must love.
To love we must accept.

Take these words.

May true bliss and love be yours.

Just like one of the new people on the planet, the author of this book has made a new effort. Signe has written poems, songs, and short stories for a long period of her time and this book is a compilation of those. She has experienced life in different places and different circumstances. she has written about her life, new experiences, new feelings, uncommon things, what she saw, and how she felt. Everything she saw in almost 30 years is in this book. “Lovolution 23: Poems and Songs” by Signe Knutson is a journey expressed in words of wisdom and poetry. Don’t miss out on this.

The poems in this book are not very simple. They need understanding and time to dive deep into them. The poems are all very different from one another and some give chills down the spine. The author is consisting of short stories which were my favourite part of the whole book. In the beginning, the book seemed strange but as I went further into it, it began to talk to me. interesting and new, this book is very captivating for any reader. My favourite poems and stories were ‘Summer Solstice’, ‘I Don’t Care If I Dance Alone, ‘Shining Low Today’, and ‘August 5th, 1995’. Each one of these has a very unique essence of newness and emotions. In this book, the author pours her heart most purely and that has got me mesmerized. This book is quite intense but it is all worth it.

I would like to recommend this book, “Lovolution 23” to poetry and short story lovers. There is this sentence in one of the poems "Plants are fine and sunlight grand, but nothing's like a book in hand." - Ballad of the Disillusioned Child. Many such amazing poems await you. So, wait no more and grab your copy!

The poetic insights of a free spirit at the end of the millennium. Her verses are both timeless and timely - they predict both the apocalypse of today and the utopia of tomorrow.
