A fascinating look at the film, from the perspective of both its writer-director (Rebecca Hall), and different academics and critics with a very close relationship to the topic. Add to that many pages of beautiful photographs and frames from the film itself, and "Passing" quickly turns into a must-read for film fans. Yes, it's not SUPER deep, and it could have definitely had more (or deeper) conversations with its cast and crew. But at the same time, it's a gorgeous and heavy and interesting book, about a film that deals with a very specific and relevant and intriguing topic. Not bad.
