The Black Door is a place of forbidden pleasures and where every woman's fantasy can come to life.
The women in the Naughty Book Club – Naomi, Kennedy, Mira and Tyler – will go to any length to satisfy their erotic desires. While they keep that part of their lives a secret, their significant others are harboring secrets of their own.
- Naomi, a suburban housewife, is stuck in a loveless marriage and can't figure out why her husband won't have sex with her.
- Mira, the seemingly conservative CEO, has a wild side that could ruin not only her professional reputation but also her relationship with Sam.
- Kennedy, a flight attendant, is tired of looking for love in the wrong places, but the mystery man seated in first class might be just what she needs.
- When Tyler comes home early from her latest design assignment, she discovers her girlfriend in bed with a man, and it is all she can do to keep it together.
Here they each begin their experience at The Black Door. Once certain truths are revealed, will the shock of knowing destroy relationships, or will they all just ‘play nice', and forgive and forget?
So.....Naughty, the latest installment in the Black Door series, has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Black Door, except in the most vague, indirect and ambiguous way. If you are going to write a book that is a continuation in a series, DON'T LEAVE A CLIFFHANGER IN THE PREVIOUS BOOK AND NOT EVEN MENTION IT IN THE FOLLOWING BOOK.
It's not that story/book was bad, it's just that it shouldn't be a book in a series and not have ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SERIES. I just don't get that.
Okay so there are four books of velvet. I like the first book and then parts of second! But then It was now dragging and I felt like I am watching some soap from Lifetime!
Actually, this book makes me sick! You will know about it when you read it okay. I don't want to spoil some details.
This book was hot. This was wild and steamy. It only took me a few days to finish it. I felt so much empathy for Tyler and Mira after their break-ups. Jacob is pathetic with the way he is treating Naomi. It was nice to see Trey returning, which I kind of expected due to him being the owner of the Black Door. The fact that Naomi starts the book hating Tyler, but goes to connect with her sister-in-law and kind of overcome her personal issues due to Tyler’s sexuality. It is nice that each character gets a good, decent ending – Naomi is starting her business, but her marriage is damaged, Kenzie is happy in her relationship with Nigel and Tyler and Mira are together and Mira's career is excelling.
I did enjoy how the stories are intertwined, and how the author swapped between each person.
But, some of the words they use… the way they kept using “fish” to describe female genitalia… please no. It is not a turn on calling it sliced or whatever it was salmon, sushi, munching on a rug… please no. I could feel things closing up as I read.
Well written, like the others but had nothing at all to do with the series. The first three books in The Black Door series all follow each others and get the reader vested in the characters while this fourth book in the "series" has totally different characters and almost nothing to do with The Black Door. Trey is mentioned briefly as is The Black Door itself. This was a major letdown for me because at the end of the third book something happens and is left open- I assumed- to be handled in the next book. It wasn't. Not sure why but I'd love to know what caused the switch-up. :( I'm giving it a three because it was well written and I was interested but a big part of me wants to give it a two.
naughty was a very good book. I hope Velvet is currently working on the next installment of the Black Door series. I like the introduction of the new characters and their own little intricate stories. Velvet did not disappoint with naughty. As was done with the black door, seduction and betrayal, I am definitely looking forward to more of the black door series.
