The whole Sam thing to me is annoying, but I like all the other characters. I thought the end was confusing, but I will still read some more.

This book reminded me of “Reese’s Book Club”

A well-known star, Daphne Morris, picks Roz’s historical romance book as her “book of the month” and has come to their small Oregon town to interview her, but before they can conduct the interview, two people turn up dead. Josie has to figure out who’s killing Daphne’s staff members before it’s too late.
A witchy cozy mystery that’s every book lovers dream. A purrfect four star read.

Witch and Famous by Angela M. Sanders is the third novel in A Witch Way Librarian Mysteries. Witch and Famous is an amusing paranormal cozy mystery. Josie Wray is an interesting main character. She is a librarian with special magical abilities. I like that her special gift is bibliomancy. Josie can talk to and hear the books. Josie can recommend the perfect book for each patron. She is slowly learning how to use her magic thanks to letters (magical lessons) left to her by her grandmother. There are a variety of quirky characters in the story. Wilfred, Oregon is a small town where everyone knows your business and gossip flows faster than maple syrup on hot pancakes. There are many amusing incidents. I was not a fan of the women getting jealous when Daphne Morris smiled and flirted with their beaus. I found Roz’ behavior to be juvenile. Roz really let the green-eyed monster get to her. Josie has no reason to be jealous because Sam is just her friend. Josie has a “crush” on Sam, but he treats her like a good friend. The mystery was a fun one to solve. I like how the clues were sprinkled throughout the book. There are red herrings to distract readers from solving the crime before the reveal. I did feel the reveal was a bit rushed considering the complexity. The solution to the crime suited the story. I enjoyed the books dialogue and how the various books behaved. The book on racing was particularly amusing. There is humor scattered throughout the story to keep readers amused. Witch and Famous can be read as a standalone as the author provides the necessary background information on our main character. You will be missing out details regarding the townspeople. The story is a bit of a slow starter with most of the action taking place in the second half. The magic helped spice up the story. Josie is slowly learning her craft, but she does need to learn caution. I was glad that the name of the town was not mentioned so frequently as in Bait and Witch. With and Famous is a magical tale with a magnetic movie star, prying residents, fatal threats, a mischievous feline, a green-eyed girlfriend, a smitten sheriff, a powerful potion, and a meddling librarian.

So... I have thoughts. I don't like to poo poo books, but I also feel the need to explain why I am rating this book a 2.5 when I loved the others.
So... things I love :
the library, Rodney, the MC and Roz, the community, the magic, and the very vivid descriptions of the beauty of the setting, oh and the books, I love the books.
I also really enjoyed how she consulted all the mystery characters to help her, especially the girl detective... I love me some girl detective, I also really love the narrator of the book.

My issues: the beautiful, bimbo, movie star who comes in town for a few weeks and all the relationships become stressed and toiled.
The ending... really didn't make sense. The explanation was all over the place and this was accidental but this was on purpose. I didn't care for it.
and lastly... Why in the seven circles of Hades do women always have to be pitted against women and their value is threatened when there is another woman who is phycially more than they are? I mean it is the oldest damn troupe there is. Haven't we evolved as women and readers, where physical beauty is not our only value... and we can be confident and comfortable around physically beautiful people without being threatened? Also, let's give men some credit.. do they all have to become mindless oafs reacting like a cartoon wolf when there is a beautiful woman in town? Josie and Roz reactions were both so immature and kind of disturbing. I could also go on an on about the sterotypical, disney like beauty standard... but I think I have said enough.
I enjoy the series that I plan to read the rest of the series, but I would like more library, more magic, more community, and LESS pining and romance drama. I hope the next one is more like the first two.

I have been really enjoying this series. I even met the author at a bookstore event in April though didn't have much time to chat as I would have liked. For some reason my library didn't have #3 in ebook form on Libby but it was on KU.

This one was unfortunately not my favorite in the series although I am still rounding it up to 4* as I love the setting, magic system, and most of the characters. I did not like all the romance drama in this installment, and Josie did one thing that really aggravated me and seemed out of character (). There were a few other small inconsistencies that bugged me also (the month mentioned as August twice and July once; Lyndon is vegan but saves eggshells for the compost? Though I guess they could come from the library kitchen but I wasn't under the impression people were cooking full meals in there.)

I loved the though, that was really fun and creative. The mystery solution was on the convoluted side. I still don't really feel like I have a good grasp on

Did Lalena ever take her trip to France??? I keep waiting for that to come up again but it never has haha.

Witch and Famous is the third installment of this quirky and colorful cozy mystery by Angela M. Sanders.
Josie Way is the librarian for a unique library situated in the scenic Pacific Northwest.
For Josie, her life has always been about books, so when she discovers that she is also a powerful witch, her life becomes more exciting.
When Daphne Morris, movie star, reaches out to assistant librarian Roz, the whole town is caught up in her arrival.
Daphne has selected Roz's book to be featured for her book club, and everyone is anticipating the stars arrival.
Daphne herself is quite the character, and I found myself having love/hate feelings about her.
No man is off limits to Daphne, and that includes Roz's special guy, as well as Sam, the sheriff, and the object of Josie's affection.
Unfortunately, we all know someone has to die in this book, but the how and why is intriguing and I found myself reading this book from start to finish, in one sitting.
This series is well written and I love Rodney, Josie's cat, he brings a fun element to the storyline.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of this book.
I happily recommend this book and series to everyone who loves a fun book.

This 3rd instalment in Angela M. Sanders's Witch Way Librarian Mystery series is fun with hints of paranormal sprinkled throughout. Curses and crimes collide with whimsy in this book, resulting in a clever cozy mystery you will love. Witch and Famous is stacked with secrets that only Josie Way, who has an impressive library housed in a Victorian mansion in Wilfred, Oregon, can penetrate to uncover the truth. This tale is well written and I love Rodney, Josie's cat who brings a pleasurable element to the storyline. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series as well as catching up with the first two.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

I enjoy this series so much. Another great installment with this one focused more on Roz who is one of my favorite side characters. The witchy, cozy vibes are so what I need right now. Josie is a great character and I love seeing her come into her own in each new book. This series is a new favorite and I can't wait until the fourth book comes out.

It's fall in Wilfred, Oregon and there's no place Josie Wey would rather be. She finally convinced the board to install Wi-Fi and public computers in the library and is learning more about her witch powers. Now movie star Daphne Morris is coming to interview Roz, assistant librarian and novelist, for her book club. Daphne arrives early for a vacation in Wilfred before the interview. The townspeople are eager for a look at the movie star but adoration turns to enmity when Daphne manages to charm both Roz's beau, Lyndon and Sam, the sheriff and Josie's crush. Everyone hears Roz threaten Daphne publicly and Daphne refuses to do the interview until Roz apologizes. For some reason Daphne and her entourage stick around and that's when the real trouble starts. Daphne brought along her chef, Bryce, who mixed up her signature cocktails for everyone and then ended up dead in the bathtub. Chef Bryce was electrocuted by hair dryer, exactly the same as the plot of one of Roz's novels! Coincidence or did someone try to kill Daphne? Roz is under suspicion but Josie learns that any number of people wanted to be free of Daphne and Roz would never kill anyone. The townspeople rally behind Roz in an attempt to clear her name. Can Josie use the books and her magical powers to help her figure out whodunit? Gutted at the thought of losing Sam to Daphne, Josie ponders brewing a love position. Would that help her get Sam to love her back?

This was not my favorite of the series so far. The plot was not as intriguing as the previous two and it ended up WAY too complicated. It feels like the author couldn't decide which character was the murderer so she included three scenarios that were over-the-top ridiculous and plonked them all in the story. I did like Josie's powers. Bibliomancy is really cool! I can quote my favorite books from memory but they don't actually speak to me or fly around at my command. What happens at the end is weird and I'm not sure I love that but I love the random book voices and I love Josie's ability to match people with the right book even if it's not what they asked for.

Josie is kind of immature. She doesn't act like an adult in this novel. Why doesn't she talk to Sam? She's the one who encouraged Roz to talk to Lyndon and when Roz did tell Lyndon how she felt, it worked out. Josie could tell Sam how she feels and give him the time and space he needs to think about it and heal from Fiona's death. I like how they sit together each evening and solve mysteries. That's a nice beginning. I was very disappointed in Josie for I do like how every time Sam dumps the baby on Josie, she dumps the kid on Lyndon! Sam really needs to learn how to ask and not assume and to bypass Josie who is clearly not a babysitter.

I'm not sold on Rodney. His relationship with Daphne's Pomeranian, Duchess, was funny but I don't like when Josie can inhabit his body. He's a mischievous cat but also her familiar who does what she wants him to when it counts. Dylan is so cute! I wish I had an awesome intern like that. He has good ideas and how to execute them. He'll be a museum director or library director in the future!

Sam is too nice. Josie should have learned her lesson with Fiona. Sam clung to Fiona way too long and she was horrible. As bad as Fiona was, she was a narcissist while Daphne is calculating. Sam is powerless to resist a beautiful woman in need. He thinks he's working and helping Daphne but I think she has other ideas in mind and he can't see it. I missed Darla because I think she's the voice of reason and would have set everyone straight. I don't think Sam has real friends yet in Wilfred. I think the townspeople are keeping their distance and still don't quite trust Sam because he's a Wilfred. Sam also clearly doesn't believe in Lalena's supposed psychic abilities or she would set him straight.

I missed the rest of the townspeople. They're there, mostly in the background. Duke is vocal but he's awful. He and the barflys miss the tavern so they've set up shop in the library kitchen even after Josie tells them not to - more than once - and explains why. I did enjoy seeing more of Thor and Buffy! Those kids are hustlers! Little Buffy is clearly the brains behind their operation. She's always hustling. It was too funny how she's the one trying to collect money from people. Thor would let Daphne have a drink for free but not Buffy. They even charged the sheriff to collect potential evidence which is literally his job! If an adult tried that, Sam wouldn't let them get away with it but because Buffy and Thor are kids and she's so little, he probably caved. Thor will end up in trouble one day and it will be up to his little sister to bail him out! I still don't know where their parents are but Patty seems to be raising them as well as running the This 'N That. Patty's store is so funny! It's constantly changing which I think is a brilliant concept. Every store now needs to adopt/adapt this business model. Ruth Littlefield has one big scene with Josie that is essentially pointless but funny.

Roz behaves very badly and immaturely for a middle aged woman. She should trust Lyndon. Sure he's innocent but I think he truly loves Roz and wouldn't do anything deliberately to hurt her and in the end, it's Roz he'd want to be with. Daphne comes to town to dazzle but she's not permanent and I don't see him leaving Wilfred for Hollywood. Roz has every right to be angry with Daphne, especially as Daphne knows Lyndon is the hero in all of Roz's novels and her very own real life hero. For Daphne to blatantly flirt with him is incredibly rude. BUT everyone knows Roz isn't a killer. Her real plans are so juvenile. What is she in high school? Poor Sam has to once again follow the evidence even if he knows in his heart Roz didn't do it.

None of the newcomers are super likable but it's Daphne's fault. Daphne is an awful person. She's self-centered, calculating and a man eater. It's no wonder she's abandoned four husbands so far and I think she's in Wilfred to pick up an unsuspecting #4! Yet she complains a lot about her husband's affair with the dog trainer making the tabloids. Gee. Maybe because it makes her look bad? She's very selfish and demanding. Daphne seems to think she's a queen and everyone else her slaves. She forces her personal assistant to draw her a bath with specific instructions every single night, blend her turmeric smoothies and do everything Daphne can't be bothered to lift a finger to do. Daphne is too busy batting her eyelashes at every man she meets. She claims to be afraid for her life because she has received a death threat yet rather than take it to the police, she threw it away and casually dismisses it. YET she also demands police protection. No problem, she hires a bodyguard but then the bodyguard is mysteriously cancelled and Sam has to stay with her. Gee I wonder what happened there? Daphne may have charmed Lyndon but he's a bashful bachelor, Sam should know better. Daphne can't even be bothered to remember Nicky's name so how does she think she'll get Sam to marry her? Nicky is everything to him.

Daphne is so evil that she had all her staff sign a contract not to take any other jobs, start their own businesses or leave her in any way. This seems to be causing conflict with everyone. Morgan, the personal assistant, seems resentful of everything she has to do for Daphne. She's a literary snob who doesn't appreciate popular romance novels yet she has to be the one to read the books and come up with questions for Daphne to ask the authors. Morgan wants to be free to go to New York and star in a play but Daphne refuses to free her. She has some valid reasons why Morgan shouldn't do it but that should be Morgan's choice to make. Chef Bryce seems nice and everyone likes him. He didn't reveal any beef with Daphne or anyone else. Why would someone kill him? Was it simply wrong place, wrong time? Gibbous Moon, Daphne's makeup artist, is very zen. He enjoys meditating! He can't be the killer. He is also very talented at making people look good in a natural way. He wants to open up his own skin care line an like Morgan, is tied to Daphne. Gibbous seems prepared to wait it out, however. He needs the money to start his business.

Then there's Leo, a nerdy filmmaker. He loves to read and is working on a documentary on folk magic and witches. Uh-oh Josie! He's into Josie and doesn't let on if he knows she's a witch. She hasn't told anyone but he could have discovered information about her family and come to Wilfred to seek her out. Leo is locked into a contract with Daphne but unlike everyone else, he's smart enough to work on his project on the sly. Lastly we have Daphne's supposed stalker, Bianca. Bianca and Daphne were once close and now Daphne has a restraining order against Bianca. Supposedly Bianca sold Daphne's breakup story to the tabloids and Daphne can't forgive her. Bianca and Daphne also grew up with Bryce so I am wondering if there IS a connection to Bryce's murder and the threats to Daphne?

Ruth Littlefield thinks Daphne is behind everything and I would be inclined to agree. I thought it was someone else at first, like Josie, but then also like Josie, I thought I was wrong. Then I thought and hoped it was Daphne! If she's not the murderer, she needs to leave Wilfred and never come back!

When a movie star, Daphne, and her entourage arrive in town to interview Roz, about one of her books for Daphne’s book club. Daphne is very good looking and seems to attract the attention of all the men in town. So when Daphne’s crew starts to be killed off in styles similar to the death scenes in Roz’s book Roz becomes a suspect. Josie, the Librarian and fledgling witch, has to clear her friends name as well as protect Daphne even though she doesn’t like Daphne’s attention for Sheriff Sam.

This is the third book in the series and my second. This book can definitely be read as a stand-alone mystery. Josie is a fun protagonist. Since she is new at being a witch and trying to keep it a secret she sometimes is put in awkward situations. Also being a librarian in an old historic home she sometimes has to get the quirky members of town under control or they would take over the library and disturb those who are there to find quiet time and a good book. The mystery is well done, well paced, and full of twists. I recommend this book to fans of paranormal cozy.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and I have not been by anyone.

Up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest a major movie star arrives to host a session of her book club featuring a local author, Roz. When a member of the movie star's entourage is murdered in a fashion echoing the.murder in the book, librarian and fledgling witch, Josie Way, comes to the rescue to figure out the crime. Jose's special talent in witchery is bibliomancy. Listening to the books in the library, making them dance and being able to recommend the perfect book are among the uses if her talent. The whole series is charming. While this book could be read as a standalone, I would suggest starting from the beginning will bring you the most enjoyment. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Witch and Famous by Angela M. Sanders is a great cozy mystery that is the third book in the adorable series: Witch Way Librarian series. I enjoyed this.

I have read all three books thus far and I really think this series is coming into its own and settling in for the long haul.

The backrop of the quaint Wilfred, Oregon makes for a lovely scenic and picturesque locale. Not many authors take advantage of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I completely adore Rodney the feline partner to amateur sleuth to Josie. I am enjoying her self-discovery and growth, as a woman and adult, and as a librarian and a person with special powers. The author does a great job balancing the murder/mystery, the wonderful character cast, the paranormal threads….and she ties it all up nicely into a great book that kept me engaged and interested.

Definitely looking forward to the next book!

I decided to switch gears on this Witchlit offering and jump into a witchy cozy mystery, a genre that is popping up all over the place. I enjoy them, they’re usually cute and a quick read. This one was no exception. Also no exception, this one seems to have followed the trope of a witch having no clue that she has powers until the start of the series. However, this is the third book in the Witch Way Librarian series, so not the topic of this particular storyline.

Josie Way is (you guessed it) the librarian in the tiny town of Wilfred, Oregon. The library is housed in the mansion of the town’s former owner, making it a setting I’d love to see, assuming it’s based on a real place. Josie’s magic comes from the books. They whisper to her, dance for her, and often jump off the shelves when she’s around. Her assistant Roz is a romance author and has been selected for movie star Daphne Morris’s book club selection. The actress’s arrival in town is possibly the biggest thing that’s ever happened to the inhabitants of Wilfred and everyone is abuzz with excitement. Until Daphne flirts with both Roz’s boyfriend and Josie’s crush, Sam.

But more deadly concerns come to light when Daphne’s personal chef is killed. Daphne has received death threats while in town, a stalker followed her there, and most of her staff are unhappy with her as well. There’s no end to the suspects, assuming the intended target had been Daphne. Josie adds herself to the discontented ranks when Daphne uses the murder to throw herself at Sam. With a little help from the books, Josie decides to find the murderer herself, if only to get Daphne out of town and away from her her hopeful boyfriend.

This was a really cute book. Great small town setting with quirky, memorable characters. Also not your run-of-the-mill magic system. Being the bibliophile that I am, I’ll remember this one. Seriously, I wish my books talked to me and I could summon the characters up with a quick spell. I also loved how she pulled the townspeople together to help her gather information. Even though I haven’t read the first two books in the series, the author seems to have set up a great arc both with Josie learning her magic one spell at a time as well as her romantic arc with Sam (also slow and steady). And her best friend is a (fake) psychic who doesn’t know Josie is a witch. I could see getting some distance out of that scenario.

There’s one stumbling block holding me back from rating this one higher and it might be a preference that’s peculiar to me. When I read a cozy mystery/amateur sleuth book, there HAS to be a legitimate reason for the main character to get involved in the investigation. This book didn’t give one. Josie just inserted herself and Sam, the Sheriff, just allowed her to hang around the crime scenes. Like he literally went to investigate a murder and asked her to watch his infant son. What did Josie do? Handed the baby off to someone else and scampered into the middle of the crime scene, then continued to hang out while the police were questioning everyone. While it didn’t irk me enough to stop reading, it did make it all feel too easy.

However, if you like cozy mysteries (or want some more witchlit this month), check this one out. I know at least the second book is on Kindle Unlimited if you subscribe and want to dip your toe in.

The beginning was really bad, the writing was all over the place and the pacing was terrible. About 40% in the writing got much better and I started to enjoy it as a cosy mystery. It gave “snuggled up in bed, reading it at night with a hot drink” sort of vibe and I was super into that. Unfortunately I felt like the ending was kinda weak, something about it was really unsatisfying and finding out the big “who-done-it” was not nearly as gripping as it could’ve been. Also the fact that the main character was a witch barely made any difference to the book. If it wasn’t for the ending I would’ve recommended it as a fun one-time read, but now that I’m done with the book I definitely don’t recommend it lol.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Witch and Famous by Angela M Sanders. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and Kensington Books for providing an ARC to review.

Witch and Famous was such a fun fantasy/cozy mystery. This book is full of great characters and a fun mystery with a side of magic. It worked for me. I love how anchored the witch aspect of the story was, and while it weaved through the narrative, it wasn't the main focus. I won't go into spoiler details, but I liked the character development of our female lead. Finding oneself while finding a killer was a strong plot arc that everything else worked around. I give Witch and Famous 4/5 stars.

Josie Way has found her place in Wilfred, Oregon, and is settling in well with the residents. She's also learning to harness her witchy powers. This story moved a little slower than the others but it helped to set the story and get you acquainted with the new visitors in town. I loved the spotlight on Roz and her relationship and thought that the solution to the mystery was creative. I look forward to the next in the series.

I like this series and while there were a couple of niggly things that irked me about this book overall I enjoyed it

I love the premise of a magical librarian and the cool library in a mansion where the librarian can talk to the books and the books talk back to her. That is fun and neat.

I would like at this point for the will-they-won't-they romance to settle on one or the other because I like Josie and wish she could stop acting like a Harlequin romance heroine where her feelings for Sam are concerned

The mysteries are well-conceived, and the town and it's cast of supporting characters are likable and clever. I enjoy this series and an to continue reading it.

This was a cute and cozy murder mystery. I enjoyed the antics all the townspeople got up to, and the FMC's bibliomancy powers was a really cute manifestation of magic. Since I didn't read the other books in the series, I was a little lost in the setting, but the author does a good job of fleshing out the characters and the world, so this could definitely be read as a standalone. My main issue with this book was the extreme jealousy the female characters have of the gorgeous new movie star that's come into town. But besides the quite juvenile recriminations, the book was an overall fun read.

I absolutely loved the witchcraft in this series, it was so cutesy. The idea of a witch being able to provide the ~perfect book recs or being able to talk to books or make them dance is soooo adorable. Only on one note, this does seem to be quite the invasion of privacy at times (aka in the beginning of the book when she recommends a pregnancy book to some woman who just found out about her daughter's pregnancy and has not publicly announced it yet). But overall, these bookish skills are able to help Josie investigate the murders.

I really enjoyed the execution of the murder mystery as well. There were clues woven in throughout the book with red herrings and such sprinkled throughout. The solution just fit the entire saga perfectly, although it did seem a tad rushed at the end.

As I said, the main issue I found with the book was how jealous the females were of Daphne. And while yes, Daphne shouldn't be encouraging the advances of cuffed men (and by encouraging all she really does is smile), is it really her fault that all these people are drawn to her? As a famous and beautiful star, she has this natural charisma, as Josie points out, and the supposed infidelity of the males of the town are by no means her fault? Especially when she turns her head towards Sam, technically Josie and him are literally just friends, so it doesn't really justify angry jealous behavior.

Also there was a big dumb-dumb on Josie's part like c'mon everyone knows you do NOT just leave magical potions (especially when they're repackaged into a normal beverage bottle) just lying around willy-nilly particularly in a COMMUNAL kitchen. But I suppose it all ends well in the end, I was still quite frustrated bc it was quite irresponsible of her.

Overall, I found this to be a cute and cozy read, and a very fun murder mystery!

How can you resist enchanted books, a novelist whose plots are becoming real murders, a mischievous cat, and a main character that makes readers and writers happy? The answer is, you can’t! The “Witch Way Librarian Mystery” series has a new addition, Witch and Famous, and Josie is out to find a killer once again.

Enchanted books help Josie discover many things about the patrons of the library and anyone else she needs to help. Still, this time the books may not have all the answers when a murder occurs, and novelist Roz becomes the number one suspect. The personal chef of a famous actress, Daphne Morris, is killed, and fingers are pointed directly at Roz, not just because the murder mimics one of the plots in her novels but due to her jealousy. Meeting the actress had everyone on pins and needles with excitement, but when Roz’s boyfriend pays a little too much attention to the A-lister, Roz becomes angry and jealous and storms off while threatening to get revenge. Josie almost joins her when the actress turns her attention to Sam. But why kill the chef if Daphne is the problem?

Suspects and motives aren’t easy to find. It makes no sense to Josie or her enchanted books and thinking that Roz could kill someone makes even less sense. Once Josie starts poking around, she finds that far too many people have a motive to kill the actress, but not many have anything against the chef. After another murder, Roz is still a suspect, the novelist is still angry and jealous, and Josie is frustrated with the lack of progress. It takes a lot more digging to find out what happened to the chef and keep Daphne from being the next victim. Finally, in what can only be described as a convoluted motive and an action-packed finale, Josie uncovers the culprit's identity and keeps Roz out of prison.

I adore the library but would like to see the enchanted books more often. I loved it when Josie had them dancing. The characters are intelligent and enormously likable. I would like to see Sam and Josie become more involved, and it looks like that may happen. I would love to meet the novelist Roz, and who wouldn’t want to read one of her novels? I felt that Witch and Famous was a wonderful addition to the series, and I look forward to the next installment in this series.

Sanders avoided the Third Book Slump with ease.

Rating: 4/5 stars

Oh. My. Y'all, I found Witch and Famous so compelling that I had to space it out because I just know I'm not going to get the fourth book in the Witch Way Librarian series anytime soon. Witch and Famous hit the target with a flourish and - in my opinion - managed to avoid the Third Book Slump. W&F is a great addition, and sees some fantastic character development across the board for all of the core characters in the series.

Things I liked:

1. Daphne. She was the most chaotic, hilarious character that I think Sanders has introduced to the series. And Roz is wild - and my favorite character - so take all this as you will. Her self centered world view, and her relationship with the world, is so entertaining.

2. Rodney, as always. Rodney is one of my favorite pet companions in a cozy series. His ability to assist Josie makes him the greatest feline foil. And his smittenness with Duchess is hilarious.

3. Roz and Lyndon's relationship. These two needed to have a little bit of a character arc defining fight and Sanders delivered that in a fantastic way. As I mentioned, Roz is my favorite character. She and I have a lot in common and I loved watching her succeed. And poor Lyndon. Such a sweetie.

Things I didn't like:

1. Sam. He's let me down so much in this book. My faith in him is shook and I don't know if it can be restored. I've never felt so disappointed in a male character in my life. Which speaks to Sanders' brilliance as much as it does with my investment in these characters.

2. The magic. The magic in this book was a little weird. I get a little lost with love potions so I had to turn my nose at those parts.

Now that I've finished Witch and Famous, I'm going to have to keep a solid eye out for any hints of another book in this fun series.

Witch and Famous is the third book in the Witch Way Librarian cozy mystery series by Angela M. Sanders. Josie Way has settled into life in Wilfred, Oregon, living in an apartment above the library in an old Victorian House. Famous movie star Daphne Morris has come to town to interview one of Wilfred's very own novelists for her book club. She is very much a diva--spoiled and used to getting her way.

When one of Daphne's entourage is murdered in a style much like the murder of a character in the romance novel being highlighted by the book club, the novelist (whose name I am purposefully withholding if you haven't yet read the first book) becomes the number one suspect. Could the intended victim really been Daphne though? She seems to have quite a few enemies who have reason to do her in. Getting to the bottom of the murder is at the top of Josie's to do list. With the help from the voices in her books and her feline familiar Rodney, Josie sets out to do just that.

With a long list of suspects, Josie has her work cut out for her. The sheriff seems distracted and she is not sure how much she can rely on him for help. Josie ups her use of magic in this third installment of the series. She's growing more confidant in the use of her powers and, put together with her resourcefulness, there is not much she cannot do. I enjoyed getting to know more about the Wilfred townspeople. This installment was infused with humor and was a lot of fun to read. I can see this series becoming a favorite.

This was disappointing sequel because I loved the first two books and I had high hopes for this third book. Unfortunately this story was just okay for me.

This is an adult cozy mystery book but this felt like unnecessary high school drama. I loved Josie and Roz in the previous books but in this story, Josie and Roz were annoying. Roz's boyfriend gave the celebrity Daphne Morris flowers and publicly danced with Daphne. He didn't cheat on Roz but Roz was so insecure about her relationship that she decided to dump the boyfriend before he cheated her with Daphne. Roz totally IGNORED couple things like that Daphne was NOT INTERESTED in her boyfriend and Daphne was in town only one week before she went back to Hollywood. I did understand why Roz was mad at his boyfriend but I didn't understand why Josie was so jealous of Sam. Josie wants to be more than a friend to Sam but Sam only has shown friendship towards Josie. They are only friends but Josie was still really possesive towards Sam when Daphne showed that she is interested in Sam. Josie's behavior was so immature and dramatic.

There were also the mystery part in the story but the mystery wasn't well done in my opinion. The answer to who killed who and why was ridiculous.

This series is amazing! Each book builds on the last one in regards to Josie's magic and the details are so...well, spellbinding. :-) Love getting more enmeshed in this quirky very small town and the unique library that serves so many purposes. The arrival of a Hollywood mega star stirs everything up in the most delightful -- and infuriating -- way. And, of course, truth seeker Josie is in the thick of things. Excellent mystery, agonizingly slowslowslow burn romance and the touches of humour brought me so much bookish joy. I need the fourth book to be published already!

Josie is leaning into her magic learnings, while trying very hard to lean away from her feelings for Sam. Everyone in town can see how she feels. Hell, Sam can probably tell how strong Josie's feelings for him are. But considering the events of the last book, Josie's choosing to try to put her feelings on hold for the sake of Sam, and his son, Nicky.

When a famous actress visits the little town of Wilfred with her crew, all sorts of chaos ensues. And I get it. This is exciting. But honestly, the glitz and glamour and whatever femme fatale thing this actress has going on has gotten old for me very, very fast. I am well over it, and not even the murder mystery can really bring this back for me. I just have a really, really low tolerance for the vapid, selfish, spoiled type, which is exactly what this actress is.

While the mysteries themselves weren't really enticing for me, and with finding the newcomers to town, quite frankly, annoying as well, I was pleasantly surprised by Josie.

Josie's heartstrings were put through the wringer in this book - and not just because of Sam. Josie's always come across as very empathetic to those she's closest to, but this time she really became part of the community. She put her skills as a librarian, and a witch, to the test, and it ultimately worked out in her favour. (Let's be real, we wouldn't have much of a series if she didn't come out on top.)

And while I wasn't overly fond of the plotline of this book, I really am attached to the library overall, and to Josie's progress with her magic. I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Witch and Famous by Angela M Sanders is the third installment in her "Witch Way Librarian" cozy mystery series. The main character is novice witch and librarian Josie Way.

The entire town of Wilfred, OR, is abuzz when a glamorous movie star, Daphne Morris, arrives to interview a local author for her book club. The excitement wanes for both Josie and Roz when Daphne charms their romantic interests, leading to jealousy and hurt feelings. Things take a turn for the worse, however, when Daphne's on-staff chef is murdered, and it appears that Daphne may have been the target. Worst of all, the murder is eerily reminiscent of a scene in Roz's book, and her fan was found in the vicinity. Josie knows Roz is no killer, which means someone's out to frame her. With Sheriff Sam besotted by Daphne, it's up to Josie and her magical connection to books to solve the mystery and save her friend.

Cute story. Josie is a likable character, and the other regulars are quirky and fun, including Roz with her hot flashes, taciturn Lyndon, and psychic Lalena. I also adore Rodney, Josie's feline familiar. Even Daphne had her redeeming qualities, never mind that Josie, Roz, and I all wanted to punt her simpering ass out of town.

Very good book, with a nifty mystery, romance, thrills, pining, and magic. Five stars!

Josie Way is a librarian in a small town of Wilfred, Oregon. Her assistant librarian Roz is a romantic author writing under a pen name. When Roz's newest release is chosen by a celebrity book club. Things get interesting in the little town. The celebrity Daphne Morris is a flirt and uses her charms on Lyndon. Which makes Roz insanely jealous and publicly threatening Daphne. Then Daphne's chef is found dead in Daphne's bath. Roz is named as a person of interest. Josie then uses her magic to find the real killer.

This was supposed to be my first book in the series but about 50 pages in. I knew I needed/wanted to read the series from the beginning. I love the characters, witchiness and the setting. I will definitely be reading the rest of the author's books and will continue reading this series.

3rd book in the Witch Way Librarian series and I can't wait for book 4!

This can definitely be read as a standalone if you want to, but you do lose some backstory and character development if you do- nothing you can't get past if you start with that mindset!

I loved reading this book- super easy to read, lovable characters, engaging storyline, lots of mystery, a dash of romance, and magic sprinkled throughout.

Josie is a witchy bookworm sleuth whose magic is well written, very descriptive, and SO UNIQUE!
Throughout this book there's the "will they or won't they" for love between Josie and Sam, Sam and Daphne, and Daphne and Lyndon. It's a semi-HEA but a decent sized cliffhanger that makes me nervous and impatiently awaiting the next installment for 2023.

This is a great cozy murder mystery that doesn't have graphic depictions or any on-page romance.

Once you got past the silly jealousy issue Josie and Roz had in this book, this was actually a pretty good 3rd book in the series. Josie experiences growth in her feelings towards Sam so that was good to see. The mystery was good and there were enough surprises along the way for the reveals to be 😮😮😮😮, I have to say I was not expecting the that twist. It will be interesting to see where Sam and Josie’s relationship goes in future books, just no love triangles please, I don’t want to have to stop reading the series :)
