Scott and Keegan have both known their share of manipulation and abuse. Can they rise above the heartaches of their separate pasts and build a future together?

Scott Jasper needs a change in his life. Stuck in a dead-end relationship with a man who manipulates and uses him, Scott wants out but hasn’t found the one thing to motivate him to leave. Until the night his partner takes him to local gay swinger’s club Ganymede’s Grotto, where Scott meets the man who might just be The One.

Keegan Rourke—a.k.a. “Eros,” the most popular stripper at Ganymede’s Grotto—has been burned before. Determined never to let another man rip his heart out, Keegan doesn’t let anyone get close enough to love him. Until Scott comes along, offering Keegan the gentle, unconditional love he’s always needed but has never experienced.

For Scott and Keegan, the road to lasting commitment isn’t a smooth one. A lot of roadblocks stand in their path—Scott’s trepidation about his own dominant tendencies, Keegan’s abusive past and resulting fear of intimacy. Can they can rise above past sorrows and find their happiness in each other’s arms?

Ally Blue penned her first tale at age eight, relating the breathless terror of her little sister’s not-quite-fatal encounter with a bee in the backyard. That was the beginning of a lifelong love affair with storytelling. She now writes gay romance of all flavors, and has recently branched into writing her first love: horror. She continues her neverending quest to scare herself. She is not a hippie or a brain surgeon, no matter what her kids’ friends say.

Some heroes are just memorable. As many books as I have read, most heroes in time fall through the cracks. They usually become a faint memory of a book I once read.
In Eros Rising, I don't think I will personally never forget it's heroes, and how much I enjoyed reading about them and their story.

Scott Jasper has been in a loveless relationship for some time. What was once was tender and loving has now become mechanical and untrusting.

When Scott's lover manipulates him into going to the local gay swingers club, Ganymede's Grotto he is stunned and angry. Scott's lover has been unfaithful for some time, and to Scott's disappointment, he has no intention of changing.
As Scott and his lover are in the mist of a heated arguement, he becomes distracted by a show that is about to start on stage. Nothing prepared Scott for what he was about to see.
A beautiful man, dressed in tight white pants, a sheer white shirt and huge white feathered wings. He has long stunning strawberry blond hair that falls in waves down the middle of his back. His piercings and huge tattoo on his back captivates Scott...but when the beautiful man starts to dance and strip he becomes mesmorized.
When Angel's show is over...Scott discovers his lover has left. Knowing his lover is probably in the bathroom, hooking up with another man.

Scott decides to belly up the the bar and look for his cheating lover, he is happily surprised when the bartender is none other than the beautiful angel that had mesmorized him earlier. When the beautiful bartender starts flirting with him...he starts feeling something he hasn't felt in a long time. Hope and Desire.

Keegan wasn't expecting to feel an instant connection with someone. His life is filled with entertaining the patrons at the bar as a stripper and keeping their glasses full as a bartender. Keegan has closed himself off emotionally from others because of a painful past. Although he is popular, he never allows people to breach the protective barrier he has put up over his heart. The moment he meets Scott he knows that they have something special. But, their are many obstacles both men must work through. Scott must break away from a horrible relationship and take a chance with his new friend Keegan. And Keegan must deal with his past to have any sort of happiness in his future.

I liked that Scott is not a cheater. He does not immediately sleep with Keegan, they become friends first, and become single before they have a physical relationship. Scott is a noble man who has morals, a big heart and alot of love to give.

Keegan... Keegan... Keegan!! OMG what was NOT to love about Keegan. Between being sexy as hell, his character development grows the most in the story. He must learn to trust again and forgive himself of past mistakes. I loved Keegan from his different colored eyes and sexy hair to his loyalty and sense of humor.

I loved every word of this book. Both characters deserved their happiness together and it was so satisfying watching them bond and come together. Beautifully done!

If you are offended by Strong Language and Explicit HOT Male on Male Sex this book is not for you. You'll be missing out though;)

NOTE: Keegan has a quick mention in J.L.Langley's book With Love.

Keegan is definitely is the star of this story. My partner and I were talking about this book last night. Of course, Keegan was the hot topic. We both tried to figure out his appeal. He certainly is a memorable hero. From his angelic looks and the total sexiness he portrays...whether intentional or not. We decided that it not only is Keegan beautiful on the outside, he is on the inside too. His painful past was hard to overcome, but Keegan's determination to get past it, and have a chance with true love, and happiness with Scott makes him not only a survivor, but human as well.
We loved him. We loved Keegan and Scott together. We wish their story had been full novel, but I guess we can't have it all.
Thanks for the recommendation ladies!

I think this is the first Ally Blue book that I've read. I've been meaning to read one of her books for months, and I've heard nothing but great stuff about her writing. Now that I've read Eros Rising, I will definitely pick up more of her books.

I was tempted to give this a five (I did love the book), but I wanted a bit more between Keegan and Scott before Scott realized he loved Keegan. There's a time jump between some early chapters where the 2 men's friendship really develops, and I wish the author would not have skipped so much. I understand why she did it - Scott was in a relationship (a doomed one) and he is not the type to cheat. So that limited what Keegan and Scott could get up to, and the book is an erotic romance.

Once Keegan and Scott started seeing each other, the sex scenes were HOT! All that pent up sexual energy just exploded between the 2 men. Scott's a genuinely nice guy and Keegan really needed someone like Scott. And Keegan...wow, talk about a hot, sweet guy. The lithe grace of a dancer with that long strawberry blond hair with piercings and tats... :) Yeah, I can totally see why Scott was so entralled with him when he first laid eyes on him.

Ok, I take back what I wrote in my review yesterday.. If there is one book that has brought back my faith (and love) in m/m books, its this one..

Finally! And I do mean finally there is a gay guy that doesnt want to share his love, with a million other men, or get off on watching him have sex with other people. Thank you Jesus!

I loved Scott and Keegan.. Keegan, even though hurt, was just too cute and sexy, and Scott was just the one I have been looking for in all my m/m books.. The one that has the "MINE" mentality, and for that I freaking love him!

Great book, and of course its not a bad thing that its h.o.t as well!

I will give this book a rating of 4.5.

I really love this book this book because it was so sweet but at the same time there was a intense passion going on but I feel that it was to short for my liking. I really like Keegan because even though he had a rough past he still is willing to give Scott a chance of them having a relationship and falling in love with him.
I also love Scott because even though he was falling for Keegan and want to have sex with him he is still loyal to Logan because he believe in commitment and when he broke up with him he went all passionate with Keegan.

In the end I really love this book but I wish it was a bit longer and had a bit more sex sense because it was sweet but it wasn't hardcore but I am not complaining because it was still cute and the process was slow but it was building up to something more like forever.

Scott has been in a bad relationship with Logan for 7 years. Logan is a total jerk. Logan manipulates Scott into going to a male strip club. Scott gets angry and is about to storm out until Eros (Keegan) comes on stage. There is a immediate attraction so Scott sits down to watch the show. Logan disappears to go to the "restroom" but is gone for over 2 hours. During that time Scott sits at the bar talking to Keegan who is bartending. Logan is found (by Scott) shortly after in a compromising position.

Much more happens but I don't want to give the story away.

Keegan is the perfect character. So is Scott. Logan is the perfect jerk. I enjoyed watching Keegan and Scott as they began their relationship.

Great story.

With the high rating this story have I was eager to read it.
What a deception.
No Plot, unsafe sex (you don't shallow without test (you're not even suposed to rim) and you never, never use a dildo that was on the floor, that's plain stupid and insalubrious), too much sex in one day (the number of time they can come's ridiculous), personage so cliche I want to cry (Keegan's react emotionnaly like a preteen girl and Scott's a GaryStue).
The book even have sentences that you can find on other book by this writer word-to-word, like copy/past was used.
Everyone have different think that they research while reading a story, me in this one, I find nothing.

Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.

Rating: 8/10

PROS:
- Explosive, passionate sex scenes; the two characters are half in love by the time they sleep together for the first time, so the sex is intimate and emotional.
- Likeable characters. Scott is honorable and reserved and Keegan is fiery and unafraid of voicing his opinions.

CONS:
- The story’s main conflict is resolved a little too quickly considering the emotional trauma in one character’s background.
- Some tense/uncomfortable moments that result from one character’s not understanding the BDSM lifestyle (but this is NOT a BDSM story; Scott and Keegan are pretty vanilla).

Dirty-from-floor dildos + ass = unhygienic

Okay, now that we've cleared that up, this was quite a lovely read. Cute, if not anything else. Scott is a gentle soul and Keegan sounds pretty sexy.

Though it may seem that I don't have much appreciation for the execution, one of the things I particularly liked was that even after 8 years, Keegan was still suffering from the trauma of his past. Which is realistic. And I like and appreciate realistic.

Rating: A bit less than three.

Part of the Hearts from Ashes anthology. I only read one other story by JL Langley and they were not tied together at all - totally stand alone except for the name of the bar.

This was an interesting short story with one MC already in a committed relationship - I was glad the author handled that without any cheating on the MC's part.
