This is the third book in Chelsea's Phoenix Rise Series but it stands alone easily and I hadn't read book two when i started this one. Quickly from the start, I fell in love with Kearny especially dealing with a personal family tragedy right as he is forced to go on stage to perform at his sold out concert. And it sets up a continuous wave of reasons he shouldn't trust anyone. Until in walk Janine and throws everything out of wack. She's a reporter who he shouldn't trust but he cant seem to help himself. These two have such great chemistry! THe book deals with tough issues - Kearny blindness - the loss of Janine's dad to ALS and through it all Chelsea does a wonderful job of making the reader feel for both characters. Plus I Love a book with a big loving family and this book definitely has that in spades. Def give this one a read!
At age 7, Kearny Myers lost his parents, as well as his eyesight, in a car accident. This fascinating story revealed how Kearny was forced to learn how to navigate his way as a blind rock star. Super interesting!
Unfortunately, he has huge lack of trust issues, and expects people to betray him as they try to claim his fame as well as his wealth. Janine is one of the most honest people on the planet, but according to Kearny, she is the worst. Why is that? And is it true?
