As a small boy in Lincoln, Nebraska, I listened enrapt to my grandmother reading me children’s stories, such as The Little Engine That Could. I also recall the elementary school librarian who read us Winnie the Pooh, imitating all the voices. And I remember the first summer I was allowed to ride my bike to the library on my own.

Writing started for me in school. Teachers encouraged me to pursue what they perceived as a gift. For me, my imagination was a challenge as much as a gift. I found the real world so much less enthralling.

In my Christian high school, the English teacher supplied me with unassigned novels. I wrote the senior class play and served as editor of both the yearbook and the school newspaper.

At Houghton College, I majored in writing, including coursework in poetry and fiction. But I also majored in biblical studies and was persuaded to take my writing skills in a more “respectable” direction—academia and nonfiction writing. Remember that less enthralling real world?

When all my academic work led to no great employment breakthrough, I hopped from there onto that rapid conveyor known as the tech industry. Starting in the 1990s, I shaped a new career, eventually starting my own computer consulting firm.

During those years, I focused on raising two boys and cherished the role of doing the bedtime reading, including attempting all the voices in The Chronicles of Narnia series. I also composed a few stories from scratch for my attentive little audience, usually around a campfire.

I started writing again in 2006. Following a friend’s suggestion, I meditated on scripture by imaging myself present on a day when Jesus healed an entire multitude. That meditation turned into my first novel, And He Healed Them All. Closing the gap between the sparse descriptions in the Gospels and what must have been a rich miraculous experience enticed me.

A series of unusual events (ask me someday) prodded me to write my second novel, The Reign: Out of Tribulation. I began self-publishing with those first two books. My third novel, Seeing Jesus, expanded into a series when numerous readers begged me for more. As it turns out, that kind of begging is hard to resist.

In all, I have published fifteen books on Amazon, fourteen of them as installments in one of my series. I am constantly working to improve my skills and to better share my message with the reading public.

Anyone tracking my address could guess that I’ve had some setbacks in my life. But God has stayed the same, even as I evolve and have to start over again.

Now I am married and living in Vernon Hills, Illinois, attending a vibrant church and meeting new people. I work part-time on my computer consulting business, and I devote much of the rest of my time to writing and marketing my books, with my wife as my highly motivated marketing director.

When I read the first book, The Girl Who Sees Angels, I loved the characters in the book and how the story unfolded but had trouble believing the subject matter. My adult life has offered me no exposure to anything like this. Now that I have finished Book 2, I am looking at this story in a new light. Instead of trying to imagine the scenes really happening (which is how I read any book), I see now that Jones is bringing to life the unseen realm. I am convinced there are literally angels and demons and a spiritual battle surrounding us. I’ve learned from this book that as children of the King, we have power over the darkness, in Jesus name. We don’t need to fear these demons, we can and should rebuke and reject them in Jesus name. They have no power over us! Being aware of the Deceiver’s tricks, staying close to the Lord in prayer while keeping our armour on offers us full protection. I’m glad I read these books and plan to re-read them together. Learning and being encouraged in my faith is why I read Christian authors. Jeffrey McClain Jones is one of my very favorite authors.

Book 2 of Sophie Ramos continues the story of the girl (now adult) that sees the spirit world. While reading this book I couldn’t help but wish the rest of us could get a glimpse in to this spirit world as well. So much of what happens to us today would make more sense if we understood there is so much more that meets the eye.

Jones does a great job once again of unpacking the spiritual battle that is raging all around us. The book is fiction but the story reveals truth. We need more books like this that will help us navigate this unseen world. Ignoring the battle does not make it go away. We need to put on our armor and let the light shine on darkness.

This is the second book in the story of Sophie Ramos - The girl who sees angels is now a woman, who chases them!
I read the whole book in one sitting and was sad to look down and see I'd read 95% and in a few page turns, it would be over.
Sophie and her friend Detta felt like family, they were the same characters from the first book but were facing new challenges and decisions. I miss them already!
The book covers the topic of spiritual warfare without scaring you witless, although it does have some tense scenes. Its a topic that doesn't get as much coverage as it should, especially in the crazy days we live in. It's a visualisation of what's probably, really, going on in the unseen realm. Very thought provoking, and a series I will be happy to re-read.

Great and accurate source of info about angels and demons. So we’ll written

A positive and light hearted though accurate fictional treatment of the spiritual world. A church in my area has a minister on the team who has a younger teen age son who seen demons exactly the way as described in this book. I had an acquaintance in ministry who frequently saw huge angels in worship services and also saw demons during deliverance ministries. I completely trust his veracity and can verify the accuracy personally of his discernment gifts. I have witnessed manifestation of a demon during another deliverance mission. My wife experienced deliverance from a spirit. Though you don’t hear much about it, you can Google talks by officially appointed Catholic exorcists and get complete verification of many of the details talked about in this book. I did learn some new things.
The characters in the book are well drawn and likable. It was an enjoyable read.

I read The Girl Who Sees Angels, book one of this series (I think it’ll be a series based on the unanswered question at the end of THIS book).
I had some trouble getting into it, partly bc I’d read the other one months ago and sort of forgot how it left off. But I liked the story, like Sophie and her progress, especially when dealing with Hope and her trip to Iowa right before she met Hope. You can see how her gift has matured.
I was sort of shocked it ended with her NOT being interested in Anthony the way he was her, but that’s a sort of fresh twist too. Didn’t follow the usual mold, I liked that.
I am excited for the next installment.

Another awesome book by Jeffery McClain Jones. This is my 6th book of his that I've read in 7 months.
Although his stories are non-fiction, I'm of the mind that they are like modern day parables in that they expand the minds of believer to activate their faith.
Sophia Ramos lives life like everyone but her ability to command spirits borders on all Christians possessing the same abilities. Not all will be able to see into the spirit realm but all do have the power of God in them to pray the presence of God over a person, or situation, and release the Kingdom of God.
This story, like the many other stories by the author, challenges me to release on earth what already exists in heaven.

Different to the first

This one did not immediately engage me as the first one did. Having said that, this book has a lot of useful and interesting development. It felt like it needed better 'closure' with Hope. Apart from that pretty good. Interested to see what the next book adds to the story.

This is a pretty intense book filled with both Angels and Demons. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see the Angels? But the demons were a little scary for me to read before going to bed.
The deep insight of Jeffrey McClain Jones is always wonderful to see! I highly recommend!

This is an excellent book about a girl who sees things supernatural. I believe it is sound script really and totally believable. It kept me interested the whole time! Hope there is another book after this one!

I really enjoyed following the continuing story of Sophie and her "gift." While I'm sure I wouldn't want that gift, reading these books makes me wonder what's going on around me in the spiritual realm. 😊

I didn't really like it. The first book was really good, but this one had a few interesting events, with seemingly no strong effect on Sophias life. The plot kept moving with no development. Very disappointed after such a good first book.

Unbelievable

As a Christian, I had a hard time finishing this story. My belief in Jesus and angels and demons is real, but not this author. I love the main characters, but the story drug on forever with her demon chasing. Don’t we all wish such clear communication with the spirit world was possible. I read this 2nd book so I could have conclusion. I won’t read any more.
