so you're telling me TWELVE 15-19 year olds did all that to our girl Lana and her brother, Marcus?!?! someone hold my earrings and iced coffee im about to fight all these bitches.


i was expecting that but i also wasn't expecting that. what Lana and her family went through? it was fucking DARK.

the last book that i've read that had this much evil shit happen to the main characters was Souls Unfractured and i wasn't expecting to read something that matched its darkness. i was NOT emotionally readyyy. God, i've never hated a character until i was introduced to Agent Johnson and Sheriff Canon (is it Canon? i don't know. i forgot this asshole's name).

okay, what happened to them genuinely made me sick so yes, it was that dark. literally in chapter 1, we get to read what happened to Lana, Marcus and their dad. i had to take a break for like, a day or something because i couldn't handle it. you know, usually i'm used to a lot of dark shit but this one really, genuinely disturbed me.

and if some of you wanna know, well // MAJOR SPOILERS (don't read this if you want to read the book) //

⤷ Lana and Marcus were both cornered on the street where the Sheriff's daughter was brutally raped and murdered and this stupid Sheriff was so overcome with grief that he planned (or did not plan) on framing Lana's dad. Kyle was Lana's ex and the Sheriff's son and he orchestrated the whole assault. Lana and Marcus were sexually assaulted the whole night and Kyle castrated Marcus in front of Lana. and Lana's dad was sexually assaulted and beaten by 20+ deputies and the sheriff.

but yeah... you see how bad it is??

MY FAVORITE SCENE OUT OF THE WHOLE SERIES. hands down. i fucking love this. Lana was killing people left, right and centre. sawing a body in half, pouring lye on someone while they're bleeding to death, doing all this in front of people- HAHAHA i love it.

when i tell you that i’m not okay rn😭i feel like this series just took a sharp turn that i was not ready for. i did not have my seatbelt on…i flew outta the car. no but seriously this series is so good. idk what to do with myself. i fear this series will put me into a reading slump.

i can’t even think about anything that just happened other than the ending of this book. y’all should’ve seen me almost throw this five pound book across my room😂😂yes, i have the edition where all the books are combined into one book. ANYWAYS. book five. groveling. there better be a lot it. if you’re wondering why i rated this one 4.5 stars…the ending. it’s like i was expecting something to happen…but not THAT? i’m mad and heartbroken. UGH. oh right, another part of the plot. finding out more about what happened to lana. twelve!?!?!? TWELVE!?!?!?!?!?? i’m going to be sick again just thinking about it. it just made the ending that much more painful and infuriating. be sure to search up the trigger warnings if needed my loves! it’s dark😣

and my favorite bestie duo goes to lana and jake. i’d do anything to be friends with him omg they’re the cutest ever😭their friendship has me envious. as the series goes on, i fall more and more in love with their friendship and it quite literally has me in fear because i have no idea what to expect going into the fifth book.

the friendship blossoming between these two is truly beautiful. lana is standoffish when it comes to getting close to people and rightfully so. being able to see lana get close to someone is so🥹makes me emotional. i love how much hadley cares about her too and how much she shows it. my girl lana deserves all the good in the world.

Wow! If I thought that things couldn't get more intense, I was sadly mistaken. This series is really aptly named. My mind is completely f*cked!

Four of five books in, Lana's plans for revenge really start taking off at rapid speed. Logan's investigation in to the Scarlet Slayer has led him to Lana's hometown of Delaney Grove. On the surface it is all "Pleasantville", but there is an underlying eeriness that hints at the corruption that inundates this community.

When Logan invites Lana along, he has no idea that he is playing right into her plans. In fact, he still has no idea of the darkness that lives within the woman that he loves. He remains the primary source of goodness in her life and the only thing keeping her from being completely consumed by the darkness.

Although he played a vital background role in earlier books, this installment has Jake really stepping into the spotlight. He is vital to Lana's success and that is never more evident than in this book. I quickly grew to appreciate Jake and everything that he does for Lana. It was great to see that she has someone other than Logan that cares about her, especially because it is still yet to be determined how he will react to her secret life.

Things get very violent and interesting really quick in this book. As Logan gets closer to unveiling the truth, Lana continues to check off the remaining names on her list. Meanwhile, the horrifying details of the transgressions against Lana and her family continue to come to light.

If I ever had any doubt that the men on Lana's list had it coming, I certainly don't any longer. What they did was unspeakable. If anything, Lana is too kind to them in the end. They deserve everything she dished out and more. I don't think I've ever rooted for a serial killer so strongly as I have Lana.

Like the other books in the series, this one ends with a huge cliffhanger. With only one more serial to go, things finally come to a head. I immediately started the fifth, and final, book in the series. I absolutely could not put these books down until I had finished the entire series. It is totally addicting!

This was like watching a favourite TV crime show that you couldn't pause on the night before the examination day. Then after, you procrastinated.

This series just keeps getting more and more and more. Those past three books were nothing compared to this one. My favourite in the series! Honestly, I tried to look for any plot holes and shaky parts. But I never succeeded. So yeah, damn impossible.

I loved every second of the story. Lana and Logan were perfect for each other. What Lana suffered in the past was indescribable. I hated Logan a bit for what he did at the ending. But I want to know how he'll fix it. I am looking forward to the finale!

That ending just about shattered my heart to pieces.

“He makes me feel,” I say, though it’s something I’ve said many times before. “My soul actually feels restored with the kills as long as I have him afterwards.”

As you can probably gauge by the title, the cat’s finally out of the bag. And it was nothing short of heartbreaking. Logan was always the one with his moral compass intact, which I realized now made him rather . . . flat. I mean, he was the perfect love interest, but even I think Hadley and Leonard were more interesting.

Who is capable of something this depraved and dark without being psychotic?

The madness went up a notch in this book. The past was uncovered, and the secrets long buried beneath the peaceful facade of the little town Delaney Grove were laid bare for all its terrorized citizens to see at last. If you’ve watched the freakshow and craziness of the TV series Pretty Little Liars, the chaos here sort of resembled the situation with the antagonist of the show ‘A’.

Lana Myers continued to amaze me. I loved her relationship with Jake. I thought he was going to be a problem at the beginning, but they were a solid team. I loved her growing friendship with Hadley too. And the petty jealous war with Lisa was just so entertaining. I have no clue which direction the book will take next. I’m not ready for this to end!

I'm so glad I was able to jump back into the Mindf*ck series by S. T. Abby! I feel like I've been counting down the days. Lol This has been such a fun series for me, and I honestly wish I had more than one book left to read. As much as I want to see what happens, I also don't want the story to end!

If you've read the past installments, you don't want to miss this one! It's just as captivating, and something huge happens that will make it impossible for you not to go straight into the next book. If you haven't read them, but the idea of a female serial killer dating an FBI agent that's investigating her case sounds intriguing, this one's for you!

I'm struggling to find words. This book is written so well, the emotions of Lana and Logan hit you hard. Lana is such a strong character. The plot is really well throughout and I commend the author for her writing. I seriously could not stop reading.

The scenes are described very vividly, it's traumatizing and really heavy stuff. It actually makes you sick. But then again am so glad it's fiction😭 Also, the ending broke me😭😭

Lol now I'm wondering if I should pick up the next book or not. Am so not ready for it😂

GAHHHHHHH THE CLIFFY

OH. MY. GAWD! This series is just so good!! I find myself constantly thinking about it throughout the day.

Lana is getting some GOOD AND WELL-DESERVED REVENGE! It’s been ten years in the making. Ten years planning and analyzing and scrutinizing every move, every abuser, every persona needed to transform into to get back at those people that turned their backs on her, her brother, and their dad. All innocent. All tangled in the web of deceit and lies fabricated by a town afraid of their own shadows and manipulated by the law and the authority in the town.

AND. IT. IS. MAGNIFICENT!!! 💅💅💅👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

But it isn’t over yet. I still have one more book to read to get the full story. 👀

This book made me CRYYYYY! The injustice and heartbreaks Lana went through. The torture and humiliation she experienced along with her beautifully selfless brother and their loving father is ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING 🥺😩. This book made me cry the most. Jesus. With just a few looks, words, or even breaths, I felt the gut-punching hurt she experienced.

And I only wanna offer her my full support (and smack anyone that judges her for getting back at her abusers). Yeah. Yeah. Two wrongs don’t make a right and all that jazz🙄, but when she details what she was forced to live through, you can’t help but feel that this righteous journey needed to get done.

And the love that Logan and Lana feel for each other only helps to ground her, to humanize her, to give her a glimmer of hope that there is good in this world.

Yeah. This wasn’t steamy. We get a couple of 🔥 scenes, but so much happens… and I’m so glad we were able to see it more in this book versus the past ones. S. T. Abby (aka C. M. Owens) did an amazing job at building these scenes as the series continued. At this point, anyone reading is INVESTED (🙋🏻‍♀️) and wants to see it all unfold. Is it graphic? Yup. But I don’t even care. I did not find myself cringing at all.

This is Lana Myers’ journey. I’m just a measly peasant reading her road to justice.

Loved it! Now on to the final book!

➳ WOW. WOWOWOWOW. Let me just say, all my worst fears came true in this book!! So, Logan found out about Lana being the murderer. And what did he do? Heeeee angry screwed her and left her handcuffed to a bed. I quite literally bawled my eyes out during the entirety of this scene, like I was drowning in tears. What hurts more is that his BEST FRIENDS handled it better than Logan. He’s supposed to love her, but instead of letting her speak, he silences her and uses her body.

╰┈➤ Yup, he earned his own rant. Tell me why, TELL ME WHY, he was more understanding than Logan?? Brother, Leonard, i love you. I just adored the way he tried to show Logan that this killer was different, already thinking it was Lana. And the way he tried to change his morals… even if he failed!! Anyway, Leonard was nice comedic relief AND he honestly just understood. He was kinda like the boy version of Hadley but less cool.

She’s actually so incredible, which was so unexpected for me. I assumed that she’d be out to get Lana, try to expose her and eventually attempt to arrest her, I WAS DEAD WRONG. This girl has been supporting Lana for two books straight now, and while she was originally going to tell Logan, SHE HEARD LANA OUT FIRST. cough cough Logan take notes.

but I have to say, there’s only one person in this story that can claim the role of MVP.

╰┈➤ This man has been here since DAY ONE. And i have yet to talk about him. I guess this was the book that really made me realize how absolutely ICONIC he is. First of all, the relationship between Jake and Lana is adorable. It’ll never be same, he’ll never be Marcus, but Jake dragged Lana from the pits of hell and helped her become whole again. I cannot go another second without applauding him for his work, he’s the brains of the operation. Without Jake, none of this would’ve happened the way it has. Before Logan was around, he was the only thing keeping Lana grounded.
