And Trevor and I can’t seem to find any rhythm to our relationship.
Just when I start to think we’re in a good place, the bad takes over.
And I’m not sure what that means for our future.
Or if we even have a future.
I’ve never imagined my life without Trevor.
But maybe I’m going to have to.
WARNING: Night is the seventh book The Sunset Beach High series. This is NOT a standalone and since it's part of an ongoing series, you may find some cliffhangers. But they're worth it! It contains mature themes, sexual content, and profanity. If you're not a fan of those things, this isn't the book for you. But if you like serious stuff mixed with lots of bad words and some sweaty sex, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU.
All the books in the series are great stories and interesting. There were many redundant situations painted different colors but it was still easy to get lost in the characters lives. There are some points in the series that just don't jive but it didn't make me throw my precious kindle or anything. I'll just say newly hs graduated teens who have not trained with guns would not likely be able to take out 5+ organized drug sellers who already had their weapons trained on him. It was exciting but far fetched. Overall I enjoyed the series. This loveable group of teens certainly got into some jams while making one bad decision after another. Unbelievable. Wild. Tender.
Conclusion to Presley and Trevor’s ordeals in Sunset Beach
*** This review contains Spoilers ***
The story of how much trouble can Presley get herself into continues in ‘Night’.
This concludes the S….t show the both her and Trevor along with Brett, got themselves into.
Sergio Marquez is STILL a problem.
Lingering in the background, causing Presley and Trevor all sorts of stress, as he puts his threats into practise.
Thus causing Presley to seek out help from an unexpected source.
Dylan.
Yes. That Dylan, cousin of Trevor, brother of Sunny, ex con, black sheep of the family.
And Dylan, in turn, seeks out help from ANOTHER unexpected source.
The sketchy as F, Finch.
This decision causes both Dylan, Presley and Trevor one big MAJOR headache. AND. Leads to the dramatic, unbelievable last few chapters.
Let me just say… Presley is great at spilling her guts when she’s in trouble
Case in point: The Surf Bean fire Under the assumption that Sergio is the culprit, she loses her S…pretty quickly, and goes running to Dylan.
She really is crap at trying to deal with stuff on her own.
Then, she has the nerve to get upset when people ( Trevor, Dylan) try to protect her by not divulge their plans.
So things go from one big mess, to another as these crazy kids try to deal with an irrational drug dealer, bent on revenge (Sergio)
Lead us readers to the dramatic last few chapters where we have to suspend ALL reality.
We have the big double cross, followed by a life and death showdown on… You guessed it, another Pier.
Just when you think there is NO WAY Presley and Dylan can POSSIBLY get out of the situation they’re in…. ThEY DO!!! With hands firmly tied behind their backs..Literally.
I had to chuckle at the absurdity of Trevor in his truck appearing just In the Nick- of -time to save the day..
“Your texts,” Trevor says. “I got all of your texts. I knew you were going to try and do something. So I went to the apartment. To watch you guys. I followed you down here.”
Your F’ing KIDDING ME! …right
He “knew they were going to try and do something” Haha! Okay.
Ridiculous!!!
And how convenient that, the two cousins, and old BF’s could join forces, putting ALL their issues aside to take down the bad guy and save Presley… Bravo!
This turned out to be a novel by the numbers. The tropes so obvious, and so predictable.
One thing you learn pretty quickly is…Presley is a girl who makes stupid decisions, putting herself and friends in jeopardy, then uses her favourite phrase
“ I know, I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry”
Well… that makes everything better then… Doesn’t it?
As we roll on to the end, thank goodness for Presley’s Dad and Frank, (Trevor’s father) with their connections for excellent lawyers, because.. he gets to finally stop working and get them decent representation.
“I think...everything will end up working out,” Daddy says..
Well OF COURSE IT WILL…BECAUSE ALL AUTHORS HAVE TO GET EVERYTHING IN ORDER FOR THAT HEA ending.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you. You guys did a lot of dumb things here”,
Yep. Presley’s Daddy got THAT right.
So by the time I got to the end of this book, I wasn’t the least bit surprised by what I was going to find. Because…well, It’s the same ending with MOST of these stories these days.
THEN.
Just when we think that’s the end of things for the Sunset Beach crowd …
Nope.
We are going to get Dylan’s story. Something tells me it might feature the girl the author has just introduced for that very purpose… Lindsay. But For me, the most intriguing character is Finch. The opportunist. Now THATS a story I wouldn’t mind reading. As long as the author manages to stay away from her list of tropes. ***

This series really could have done without the last 3 books.. This one really made me not like Presley she started off in chapter 1 being a pain in the ass.. Then we are literally 7 books in so I didn't understand why people(mainly Presley) was telling half truths like in chapter 5 when Sergio showed up to her job and pretty much told her he would come after only her to hurt Trevor.. When she told Trevor what about him showing up she sugarcoated it... The whole situation with Trevor wanting to send Presley away for her safety irritated the hell out of me because once again Presley wanted to be stubborn about it ...She kept saying she trusted Trevor but when it really came down to it she didn't which is why she agree to leave but then called Dylan to pick her up from the airport to hideout with him at his apartment...She then lies to Trevor and say she made to Virginia so I understood why he got so upset with her and thought they slept together because she was a lair.. Then she called Dylan to pretty much save the day when Trevor was the one to save it in the end... Presley annoyed me really the last 3 books because she really didn't trust Trevor when he said he had things handled..None of this would have happened if Trevor would have just got in Brett's ass from jump instead of trying to help him.. We didn't get a good ending either we don't know if she went back to school..we don't know what Trevor plan to do with his future..We don't know if Brett came back home which tells me it may be another book and based on the Afterwards of this book I don't think I can sit through another shitshow with Trevor and Presley..

What a ride! So, this was the 7th and concluding book in the Sunset beach series, and brought it all full circle.. Things were looking pretty crazy for Presley, with a killer terrorizing her everywhere she goes and then Trevor wanting her to leave town by her self, leaving her feeling very isolated. Thankfully Dylan comes to the rescue, but that reprieve is short lived when Sunny and Trevor show up at Dylan’s door. Trevor lost his mind over finding her with Dylan since she was supposed to be in Virginia and decided he couldn’t take it anymore and he was done, so he gives her the silent treatment. Now, she and Dylan have to figure out how to take out the killer before the killer kills them! Very well written and fast moving story! These books flow seamlessly from one to the next! Another fantastic read by McKayla Box!

So have you ever read a book, or series because you just can not stop reading? But the whole thing pisses you off the entire time?? That’s how I felt with this series. I gave it a 4 because it’s well written and I read all 6 books. BUT there were things that upset me so bad about this relationship. I’m all for the stories of bully turned romance, but Trevor was emotionally abusive until the very end. So she gets to marry him? But how many times is he going to break up with her before then? Based on these books? At least 3 times a “season”. I actually kind of hoped they didn’t end up together in the end. Think it would have made a better ending.
I would give it a 2.75 star but of course I can’t! It’s very repetitive at this point the beach scenes are the same, the guy dies the same way the others did in the 6th book! Cute that they are married, wish we got more out of that scene! Love that she went back with Dylan, I’m actually starting to think I would’ve loved something to happen between Dylan and her…anyways…. At this point Sunny is a pain in my arse why is she so mean why does she blame all on Presley!

Okey, so what did I just read. Plot line and story telling was out of fantasy land AND IT'S NOT A FANTASY BOOK. First book was cringe, but not terribly bad, I wanted to continue and now I feel like I read 7 books that could have been an email.. Unrealistic series. There are way better books in this genre.
A lot of short and pretty good reads in this series. These last two books I think were a bit too much and the series could have ended nicely at book 5. That said, I still really enjoyed the characters and everything was really well written. I especially enjoyed all of the dialogue throughout all the books. The series all together gets a solid 4.5
The conclusion of this story is just wow. I didn't want ot to be over I'm still wondering what happened to Brett Dylan and Sunny so hopefully there will be another.
