Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance

Rate this book
She's not looking for Mr. Forever - just Mr. Right Now. It all changes when she takes her city's star football player home, and he WANTS more. So much more . . .
Leslie McClunis didn't give up ballet for firefighting to be told she'd get ahead if she acted more 'feminine.' As far as she's concerned, she's allowed to cuss like a guy and kick her one-night stands to the curb in the morning like a guy.
Trevor Hampton is not used to being shown the door as football's biggest, baddest defensive end. Not a fan of losing, he wants Leslie for more than a night. Nothing will stop him from capturing his very own firefighting wildcat.
Not even someone stealing his football team. . .
This steamy romance is burning hot and loosely based on the 1995 football season. You should only read if you wish Grey's Anatomy and Chicago Fire had a ton more naughty scenes starring ripped football players .

This is only for those over 18 due to the adult nature of its content.

Leslie McClunis is a firefighter and a ballerina which make a perfect combination for discipline, stamina, flexibility and determination, not to mention that she is as strong in mind as well as body. Trevor Hampton is a star defensive end and has the build to back it up, at well over six feet tall and built almost as wide, he has the team in his heart and a determination not to lose at anything.

Leslie is being her usual grouchy self at a class she has to take to help her to act more “feminine” or at least that is what her chief has suggested it for, it’s not like she wants to be that, she prefers to be treated as one of the guys and have the same rules as they do. However, her firehouse have other ideas, but when a man sits next to her and is just the tall, dark and handsome she is looking for, she is more than just distracted and she decides there and then to propose they go next door for a drink.

Trevor is taken aback by the fiery redhead who has just propositioned him and normally he would just politely say no, but something intrigued him and when they go for that drink, she is extremely forward and has him wanting her as much as she apparently wants him. After a night of passion, Trevor wakes up on this pint sized wildcats bed, only to find that she is at work, but after what just happened, he is determined to make it more than a one night stand.

Leslie is more than happy just to hit and run, so when Trevor tracks her down and insists that she goes out with him again, she is both annoyed and flustered, this is definitely not how things are supposed to work, but he is having none of it. Will Trevor be able to convince Leslie that making this more than just a one night fling is the right thing to do, or will she kick him to the kerb faster than he can say firefighter? This is a steamy romance with a whole heap of action on the side which will hook you in as the story plays out and keep you there until the end.

This was a fantastic read and great start to a new series, I could not get enough of the characters or the steam they both let out when ever they were near one another! I felt like I was constantly in my own steam room. I loved this book, it is one I would re read to enjoy as well for sure!

I loved how Leslie was the firefighter. I loved how she was the career driven woman. And we had Trevor who was a player of one of my favorite things, football! I loved how real they were, with such things as do not get attached, what the night was, was what it was sort of thing. I loved how their passion and want for one another was really strongly there right from the start, but as you read on you got to learn about each ot them, and why they are hesitant in the ways they act. They were vividly real characters!

Another thing I loved was the author took two characters who were not only real, but really had issues to work through together, and decide if this was the game they wanted and do a touch down, or very much, a fire to be put out. I loved the ending also. I could not have pictured it better. This book kept me interested, and happy feelings as I read through, hoping the best for these two hearts!

Wonderful read. Defiantly a good, hot, steamy read. With emotions that really bring everything to the table. I do highly recommend this must read author and their amazing book. Do not pass them up, this was a real treat, and it is one I surely will be reading again to get my seconds!

Wildcat is the first book in the MetroGen After Hours series by Carina Alyce. I had not read any of this author’s work before, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in. But the blurb read well and intrigued me enough to want to buy a copy to explore. What I found was a great firefighter romance with hot and steamy details as well as emotion, humour, banter, angst, push-pull, tension, suspense, and drama.
Leslie McClunis feels she’s had to work twice as hard as the men in her field and has to prove herself every day. She works hard and plays harder, enjoying her independence. She definitely doesn’t want or need a relationship tying her down. Then she has a one-night-stand with a hot football star who has other ideas. Will he be the man who finally tames this wildcat? You will have to read the story to find out all the interesting and steamy details for yourself.
This is a very quick and easy read, with just under 200 pages I zipped through the story very quickly. I did enjoy the story as it is but would have loved to read a longer version with even more details and what is here already being more fleshed out.
I also learned that ‘wildcat’ isn’t only a term used to describe our main female character, it is also a football term used to describe a play (offensive)where the ball is snapped to a player other than the quarterback.
And now I will definitely be looking for the rest of this series to read
Happy reading!

Thank you, Carina Alyce!

This book has so much steam from the very beginning, that you can't help but blush while reading it. The story itself is a little all over the place. I'm not meaning poorly written, it has a great story line to it and amazing characters. What made it all over the place for me was the added point of view. It isn't horrible, I just didn't care to have a third persons point of view as to what was going on. Purely my own opinion. I love the two main characters giving their view of what is going on. Adding the third person to it just kinda lost the feel of the story for me. I love a strong female character but don't necessarily care for a female character that is so set in her ways that it is a liability to herself. Most people don't do what the main female in the story did. I love that she has a passion for what she does. I love that the main man is supportive of her dreams and is willing to make sure that she can accomplish everything safely. It is a swoony romance and you are captivated by not only all the steamy scenes but also the reactions of the characters when things happen. It is not your typical firefighter romance book. If you go in with an open mind and about 2 hours of time you can finish this book with a slight coloring of your cheeks and a new appreciation for female firefighters.

Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce

4 out of 5 Stars

This fast moving, steamy romance is the story of Leslie McClunis, a retired ballerina turned firefighter. Leslie is not welcomed at her firehouse due to outdated thinking. Leslie is fighting for her place in the department as she is battling fires and, unfortunately, her own teammates.

Trevor Hampton was looking for a little stress-relief when he attended a painting class. Instead, Trevor met a fiery Leslie. Trevor couldn’t get over Leslie’s tenacity. It was something that he rarely saw, even on the field as a NFL defensive end. The attraction was so strong that he tracked Leslie down after what was supposed to be a one night stand. He couldn’t get her out of his mind. She was a distraction he didn’t need. What he didn’t know was that she was the best thing for him.

As Leslie and Trevor’s relationship heats up, so does Leslie’s fight at the firehouse. After an incident at a fire, there are shenanigans at the firehouse that leave injuries on all involved. Trevor tries to convince Leslie to let him use his fame to help her, but she says no. Trevor finds a way to help without putting a bigger target on Leslie’s back.

The story is fantastic. It moves fast and you better be ready to keep up.

When I grow up, I want to be half as strong as Leslie McClunis. The things that she deals with and pushes through is a testament to how under-rated many women are. She goes for what she wants, she will fight with her last breath to get it, and I feel bad for whoever gets in her way.

Trevor is laser focused on his game, which makes Leslie's appearance in his life totally unexpected. A small, red head, spit fire that would chew him up and spit him out if he let her. Too bad for her, he is after so much more than she's willing to give. Will true love win out?

The book is told in multiple perspectives, one of which in the form of journal entries. I enjoyed the glimpse of the future at the start. Enough information to give you something to root for, but vague enough that it still had you guessing at the details. I didn't totally understand the significance of the POV told in journal entries, but it did add and air of mystery and intrigue, so I didn't mind it. All in all, this book was quite steamy! The plot was enjoyable and the characters were easy to root for. I read this book in a day, and enjoyed the entire ride. If you are looking for something steamy, romantic, and intriguing, definitely give this book a shot! I definitely intend to pick up the next!

Leslie McClunis just wanted a one night stand, Trevor Hampton, caught off guard decides to go along for the ride. The next morning Trevor realizes he wants more than just that one night but Leslie is no where to be found. A letter and a little snooping later Trevor is heading to Firehouse 15 hoping to see her. When he arrives, it does not go unnoticed. Turns out Trevor is the Pro home teams star defensive end. But Leslie was not the only one in for a surprise. Trevor thought Leslie was support staff turns our she is a firefighter. Both do not want the distraction the other will create yet they continuously find them selves pulled together. Will they get there happily ever after?

I felt the story was well written and it kept my interest through out. The characters keep you engaged and making it worth a read.

I loved this book! This was a really good read! I give it 4.5 stars though for a few reasons. While the story was incredible and the female MC was a complete baddie, and this book was so positive and steamy and everything you could want, there were a few scenes I just didn't understand. The end didn't make a lot of sense to me, but the author ended it well for the next book. And since it is a sports and football related book, there was sport talk and I'm not the biggest person at understanding it, especially since I was barely alive when these major sports events took place. But overall this Adult sports romance was incredible. It was funny, it was sweet, it was steamy and very quick. I can't wait to read the next installment to this series!

This was a good romance and a short read that was steamy, full of spice and fun. I had not read any of this author’s work before, so I really wasn’t sure what to expect when going in to the book. Trevor and Leslie had a steamy, spicy and fun chemistry about them. I loved how their two worlds collide a female firefighter and an NFL football player coming together after a one night steamy stand. I liked the many different perspectives through out the book. I loved how much Trevor cared and loved Leslie enough to go and help her when she didn’t want the help being an independent women. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work and seeing if we hear anymore of Trevor and Leslie than the future references at the beginning of the book.

This is a romance story that is engaging and hard to put down. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed and can't wait to read more from them in the future. This is a well written story where the author’s use of detail made the story entertaining and easy to read. The characters are connectable and pulled me into the story from the beginning. This is a story that is fast paced and full of steam. This is a shorter story that really packs the romance in. Leslie and Travor are great characters and have great growth throughout the story. What will fate have in store for these two? I highly recommend reading this book to find out.

Leslie McClunis is a dedicated Firefighter trying hard to make her way in a male dominated profession made even more difficult when the men she is suppose to work along side and trust, don't want her there and make their feelings known regularly. This element of the story made me so damn angry!
At a painting class she meets Trevor Hampton, who unknown to her is a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns. Leslie is keen for a one night stand but Trevor very soon decides he wants a whole lot more. Trevor is one determined man and he is out to see that Leslie, his strong independent pocket rocket becomes his and that she succeeds.

Opposites do more than attract in this steamy romance, they explode in heat! Despite her tiny size, it’s a good thing Leslie is a firefighter. Reading what she goes through makes me want to fight for women’s rights. Trevor is more than a football player, he’s a man among men. Supportive, sexy, and three times the size of Leslie. Whether he’s sacking a quarterback or dancing in ballet tights, he’s a man all women would like to spend time with. I don’t know football, but I had no problem following the plot in this sizzler.

This is a sexy read and worth every page! Leslie is a firefighter woman who is being bullied by the men in the firehouse. Trevor is a football player who usually only focuses on his game, but it was fate. They met at a Bob Ross paint event, and the love fell in the air with happy trees. There is a lot of love, sex, drama, and so much more combined. I could not stop reading this, but once again, worth it! :)

Leslie is one heck of a wildcat. Trevor is on heck of a football player and between the two of them they light up the sheets in what was a very sexy one night stand. But then Trevor decides he wants more. Will Leslie give in or tell him to get lost since she is having a heck of a time at Firehouse 15. This book follows their journey as they try to tackle the flames they create and try to figure out how to have a life together with all the obstacles in their way.

The author balances romance and steamy, erotic passion perfectly. The storyline felt both realistic and unbelievable, though several of the unbelievable events were factually based. The author found a way to develop the characters without being predictable. I can’t wait to read additional books from the series.

Leslie McClunis is one of only a few women in the fire department. She has put up with a lot while putting in time at Firehouse 15. When she meets Trevor Hampton in a painting class she only meant for them to have one steamy night together. Trevor had other plans though and the rest as they say is history. Overall I did enjoy this book. This is the first book I've ever ready by this author and I do look forward to the rest of the series.
