Multiple time USA TODAY & Amazon 5-million copy bestselling authors DAVID ARCHER and BLAKE BANNER have combined forces to create one hell of a thriller series!
To most people the threat of a nuclear holocaust was something that belonged to the years of the Cold War, something they associated with the United States and the Soviet Union, something that was laid to rest by Gorbachev and Reagan, back in the ‘80s, when the Berlin Wall came down. So when Alia Gallin’s murder was reported to ODIN agent Alex Mason, the last thing he thought of was that this could be part of the build up to a nuclear war. All Mason could think of was his rage, finding the killers and punishing them. Only his boss, the man they called Nero, had ordered him not to touch It was the Mossad’s investigation and the Mossad’s jurisdiction, not ODIN’s. But wherever he looked and whomever he turned to, all he could find were lies and betrayal. That was when Mason decided he was going to do things his own way. Little did he realize that his way would take him to London, Tel Aviv, Tehran and the very brink of Nuclear Armageddon. And perhaps beyond…

Now this book is quite well written! I was able to learn what was going on pretty quickly. Each book in this series is getting better and better! Can't wait to start the next in the series!
This is a story of betrayal, love of one' country and a long list of unsavory characters. Odin operative Alex Mason against direct orders is Hell bent on rescuing Mossad operative Skins Galin. Their bond goes well beyond two trained assassin's who work together. They know what the other will do, what actions they will take. Their relationship is well beyond normal parameters. Iran is going to initiate a nuclear attack against Israel and the window of attack can initiate in days or hours. Non stop action and suspence. Enjoyed immensely!!! My highest recommendation!!
Good story and I like the Alex Mason character with a bad ass female partner. That said, i would have liked to see the story speed up in parts and slow down in others. Blowing 3 silos of nuclear weapons in what felt like ~ 20 sentences was anticlimactic. I also would have liked to have see the story finish with a “burn the house down” revenge rampage by Ailia.
All In all Banner and Archer are great individual writers and seem to getting better working together. I look forward to reading book 4.
Couldn’t put it down. The mix of Gallin and Mason has been perfect since the minute they met.
One minor amusing item - at one point relatively early in the book, Alex is referred to as Mr. Bauer. It must be difficult to keep up with which series is which. But you guys have got to be my dream team. Two of my most read authors joining up to collaborate on a new series. It has not been a disappointment. I’m looking forward to the next and the next after that.
I love both Blake Banner & David Archer. I’m still feeling out the collaborations. Mason is a wise-cracking badass. Lots of action & totally impossible situations that he somehow weaves through successfully. What I didn’t like was the setting in the Middle East & having to wade through streets, cities & countries I couldn’t pronounce. Personally, I’ve had my fill of the Middle East although in this case to the plot, it was critical.
Yet again Alex Mason tackles the bad guys and just to make it more difficult he has to prevent Israel being destroyed by nuclear weapons whilst also trying to save his favourite Israeli spy. He has to prevent Israeli intelligence agents who have their own agenda to destroy Iran by nuclear weapons and thus stopping nuclear Armageddon from happening in the middle East. Another cracking storyline with a lot of facts that could happen in this ever changing world 🌎🌎
Mason is the main character, but Ailia pops up along the way and for this book is mainly a side event Some parts you need to put your brain in neutral for, things seem to go Mason's way far too easily and the main event and escape really do beggar belief Other than that though it's a good story, based on scenarios in the real world, with protagonists that are believable
While mildy entertaining at times, the author's stereotypical ideas about various politicians, ethnic groups and world events are seriously flawed and laughable in their absurdity! That and beyond rediculous events and occurences from comicbook type characters had me shaking my head in disbelief. The one saving grace of this book was that it was relatively short and a breeze to blow through. Reader beware!
This is certainly action packed and a real page turner. There was lots going on and quite a few characters. It was hard to know at times who were the good guys and who were the bad guys! Everything was rounded up and explained very nicely at the end, so there were no loose ends. I enjoyed this book (more so that the previous one in this series to be honest) and would recommend it.
Alex Mason learns that a Jewish friend, and spy like him, has been captured by Iranians as she tries to infiltrate there rocket launch site. Even though he is ordered by his controller not to search for her, he tries to find her. During his search, he infiltrates the rocket site she didn’t get to. All hell breaks loose. ENJOY!
The storyline was great, with lots of intrigue and a bit of humor. Unfortunately, there were several typos and inconsistencies that a good proofreader (like me) would have caught and made for a much cleaner read. I do love the characters, Mason and Gallin.
Read and hthat s book! This novel is the best of the series. Seems to be very realistic and extremely possible. The book seemed to be very short until I realized that I was reading throughout the night! Time flew by as pages flipped over like a fan cooling my face.
The third, and I think the best of the Alex Mason books, so far.
I have read many books by David Archer, and by Blake Banner, so this collaboration was a no-brainer for me. Both writers create great characters, and clever plot lines, while throwing in some romance and humor. If you enjoy Action, espionage, and thrills, these authors are for you !
David Archer and Blake Banner are both writers that develop strong characters in their novels. These two teaming up to bring action and suspense to the espionage/political/military genre with Alex Mason series is a great read. Can't wait to see what Alex faces next!
Supreme garbage. Sped through the last half of the book at hyper speed.
The authors have less than zero understanding of politics, geopolitics, cultural, religious and military parameters of the region, which forms the basis for the book.
The storyline and heros' actions are not even remotely possible or believable.
I enjoyed it and have already started Alex Mason book 4. But my rating reflects my view that it is a bit far fetched, liking blowing up Iran’s nuclear rockets within 2 days of arriving, and more particularly landing the helicopter exactly where Aila was about to be raped when he had no clue where she was.

The ending seemed to wrapped up too quickly in a fast summary epilogue. The premise that Israeli’s agents would try and start a nuclear war was a stretch. I did enjoy the action at missile site but what were the 300 Iranian soldiers doing while he was hijacking the missile center An interesting story and will be likely to read the next one wlf
My first Alex mason read and it was surprisingly good. Well researched with protagonists you rooted for and of course the obligatory “bad guys”. Will now read books 1,2 & 4.
Today’s risks include China, South Korea and Iran - China and South Korea are political risks, but Iran is religious and therefore all the more unpredictable. This story brings it into reality.
I enjoyed the story it was riveting. However from about 70% on the editing was sloppy. Spell check will pickup misspellings but not proper word usage. Also the epilogue was juvenile or mailed in I recommend the book however
Simply put, hope to see this series continue. Great work guys!!!!!!!! Frankly, all of the David Archer and Blake Banner series books, each individual writer's, or together, are #1 with me.
Alex Mason Book 3 continues the story of an American and Mossad agent. This time, they are involved in solving an existential threat from two separate parties. As before, set in a contemporary setting.
A little complicate so I went to the map of the area that consisted of all Israel’s borders. (Just a suggestion). But the story is interestingly possible and perhaps probable. Pretty current.
Very fast read and well written. I have been a fan of the series since the first book. Straight forward action that you do not have to put a lot of thought into. The characters are great and I'm a big fan of the pace.
Others wrote it first - this is a great book with really bad mistakes that could and should have been easily edited. They get the character’s name wrong in one part. Thank God the plot was good!
Outstanding read. A little over the top in her only texting him...and he just arriving in the nick of time to the rescue. Uses unsecured Watapp...and doesn't reach out to either her Father or her agency?
Iran has nuclear capabilities and Alia Gallin has disappeared. Alex Mason to the rescue. He detonates the the bombs, rescues Gallin and uncovers a conspiracy. Loved this story.
Excellent read! I could not wait to finish reading this Novel. It took awhile to figure out who were the ‘“good guys” and who were the “bad guys “ Suspenseful till the very end
Another really good chapter in the Mason and Gallon saga. It took slot of Mason skill to get Gallon and Israel out of that Iranian saga .But Nero needs to let Mason do his job with out a bunch of grief. Can't for the next chapter. 10 stars plus !!!!! Thanks, Carl Clause
