This book has enough feels to give you an emotional hangover for days. All the feels and then some! Dylan and Sawyer go through so much in this book – past demons and new, heartache, serious family drama, deep emotional pain that leaves them reeling, and so much more. The very foundations of their beings hit rock bottom. Through it all, their made family rallies to help them both with unwavering love and support and help them find the grounding they need to accept the devastation and pain, to move past the emptiness and despair, see their worth and accept their past mistakes so they can move forward.
I really liked how Dylan and Sawyer both leaned on each other and stayed open and honest with everything to help them both heal. This book is gritty and raw and shares so much of these characters, it’s heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. The unwavering trust they have in each other is strong and beautiful. I really loved this couple together and after everything they go through, they truly deserve their happy ending. It was also great to see the other Triple Canopy characters and catch up with the families. Conquered is a great addition to the series.

This one started out so awkward, Sawyer and Dylan having to deal with their weird one night and not even immediately dealing with it, but weeks later. It was easy to see why both were upset, I was glad that eventually they both were in a place where they could talk about things, explain things and why their night ended the way it did. From there they had a very solid start to something, one where they could lean on each other, which was a very good thing.
Sawyer's family imploded and she really needed back up, something Dylan was more than happy to provide. Things really got ugly on that front for Sawyer, I was glad that she threw out those that needed to be gone and told others that things were on hold while she got the space she needed. You got the feeling by the end of the book things were going to be good for those left.
I also loved how the TC family stepped up for both Sawyer and Dylan, giving them lots of advice, from their peers and from the older generation. Lots of people with some great perspective.
I really liked the new client the women were working with, it was someone who thought like they did, looked to do great things in the community. It's just too bad how things ended there. The one bright spot is the set up for the next book, that will sure be interesting.

dammit
I love and adore this author and count down the days till her books are released then sit around after midnight devouring them. Her characters come off the pages to me, and I love the world she has built with her interlocked series and adore how past characters come back with pivotal moments in future books.
There is a lot to love about this book. Dylan is an unknown known, in that he has been around for a long while and we think we understood him, then there was a bombshell in the last book about his wife and it turns out we didn’t know him much at all…
Sawyer is new, in fact the die hard fans have busily scoured the previous books and only spotted a couple of instances where she has been mentioned and so there was a lot to learn here.
The fallout from the last book is dealt with pretty much head on (in fact the first few pages will have you gasping for breath) and then the book settles into a cadence of Dylan and Sawyer finding their way, learning about each other and working out what they are. As usual the depth of emotion that these scenery’s bring is unparalleled. Just so emotionally charged and the interweaving of other characters is very well done. I particularly loved Quinn’s character in this book. She took the back of both and did it so well whilst allowing us a glimpse of her life as Mrs Lancaster and what was going on with her and Brice (*sigh* gotta love the hot firefighter)
But…but…but… (sorry spoiler alert possibly)
I have waited and reflected and considered my feelings about this book and reread scenes to try and rationalise my feelings and the honest truth is, I don’t love this book.
I really really like it, I like it as a continuation of the series and there are elements that I adore but there just isn’t enough.
I felt the drama was fabricated (yes I know it’s a book but bear with me…) solely to create drama and didn’t really fit with what was going on. It kind of felt like there were a certain number of pages available and once the romance, steam and angst bits were slotted in there wasn’t enough room for a satisfactory underlying storyline.
The drama with Sawyers parents felt like it missed detail and depth, and whilst I agree she was definitely the victim of an abusive parent, the story lacked here and the culmination of it felt, meh….
The amazing scene that came from that with the Aunts was a top moment for me, but then this went nowhere for the remainder of the book either.
The final big action scene was well written and I liked it, but felt it came out of nowhere and the whole drama around the woman being in danger I couldn’t quite get behind, a small comment here and there then suddenly this is the “Sawyer might die” moment. And the guy just sat in his car waiting to be caught??? Eh!!
I’m not sure if elements of this will be picked up in later books, perhaps some of this is a wider set up I need to reflect more on once Phoenix’s story comes out, and to be clear I am counting down to this one now too…
Die hard fans will love it, I think any new readers should start at the beginning of the series and when this one comes along you will absolutely appreciate it as part of the series.

Sawyer and Dylan both had demons they were fighting. One was in the past, the other, front and center. They were living life in a shell of their own making until they were forced to break free and fight for their happily ever after in spectacular fashion.
Conquered by Riley Edwards is the epitome of an alpha bada*s protector mixed with an equally strong heroine. Which is exactly what I’ve come to expect with any of her books. However, this story in particular, gave off every feel known to man, and even got the mama bears to rally and dig their claws in. This is one that I will immediately reread, it’s just that good.

Sawyer came in like a wrecking ball to Dylan's heart. I do love a good Riley book but i have been stopping and starting through the read. It was a page turner but i felt some parts were a little lack lustre in detail. Like the story had been written and another lots of pages were jammed in just to make it longer. The part where the heroine gets kidnapped but the baddie just sits in his car waiting to be caught???? i mean since when. A good read and i think newbies to triple canopy MUST start at the beginning to get the full story and the gist of the characters.

I had no idea when I started this series that it was going to consume my life. I'm devouring these books like they are the air I need to breathe. I love this interconnected series. I love these characters. I love how they love. I, in a nutshell, love how they are love.

An emotional rollercoaster I did not see coming. Sawyers story hit close to home for me. Definetly cried with this one and couldn't put it down. Love when a book grabs you right from the start and you can't wait to see what happens.

Dylan and Sawyer was a rollercoaster of emotions with LOTS of inner monologue . At times, I wanted to shake Dylan, but he came through in the end, and each of them had so much crap to wave through to get to the other side to the happiness. But did they ever get their happiness and then some.

Oh fraking hell. I really wanted to loved this... honestly, I did. But... the whole read was a bit 'meh' for me. I had been patiently waiting for Dylan's story and I liked Sawyer... so why the let-down feeling?
Dylan wasn't explored enough as a character. Sawyer, who was a relatively new character, felt more developed.
I truly didn't get the whole deal with her parents. I mean, I didn't have great parents. My mum did her best... but her best wasn't motivated by her children. My dad was just awful. I didn't have anything to do with my dad after I hit about 14 ( he left my mum & 7 kids ). My mum was a different kettle of fish... I probably saw her about 20 times until her death after I left home at 18. Why some of my back-story? Context... I knew that they were both toxic in their own ways. I controlled the situation when I reached an age when I could. So why on earth did Sawyer enable her parents? She was 34 in the book... I genuinely don't understand it. She could've saved herself years of suffering command performances if she had just moved away, or even merely blocked them. Sighs. Why is this such a big deal for me? Cos it was the main plot ( apart from all of the sex!! ) whereas I felt it should've been everything that was going on with Josie... it felt that that was all brushed aside.
I did love the interaction with the rest of the 'family' tho... especially the 'Aunts'.
So, a decent read... but not an unputdownable one.

An emotional read from start to finish
The 6th book in the Triple Canopy series packs an emotional wallop.
Dylan and Sawyer's story gave me a book hangover like no other. The two MCs have loads and loads of emotional baggage to work through before their HEA.
The book takes us on a journey with raw emotion, heaps of sweetness, off the charts hotness, and the comfort found in your chosen family. The action-adventure took more of a backseat in this book. However, Dylan still scores very high on the protective hero chart, especially as he is protective of Sawyer's emotional well being (rather than physical well being) in this book.
Dylan has held himself apart from his colleagues and friends for a long time, sharing minimal personal history and refraining from connecting emotionally. The crush between Sawyer and Dylan comes to a head but with disastrous consequences...copious amounts of alcohol, memory loss and saying the wrong thing has Dylan grovelling for redemption.
I loved the humour and chemistry of our couple, but it is the family pulling them in that is the greatest. Read the book, and you will understand how precious this quote is: "I will fight you for her." Matrons for the win...mamma bears in action.

2023 audio reread: Dylan and Sawyer's story was even better in audio. I love them so much. Dylan messed up but his grovel more than made up for it. The narrators were phenomenal!

In your face and slap him now. How can one of my alphas be such a jacknut from the get go.
I was automatically wishing sawyer was a 707 alpharess descendant.
Even Dylan's hurt and reasoning didn't phase me. I realised then and there I'm not a super forgiving person, so do your best Dylan.
As I kept listening I was hoping sawyer would keep her stoicism a lot longer and make him squirm. I think Dylan just needed to engage brain before mouth for the rest of the book.
So instead I concentrated on the amazing topic at hand that the women had consolidated.
Riley has indeed put an amazing piece of writing together and everything fitted into a truly sensitive wonderful topic.
So, ok I did falter when the next door neighbour visited but then started fist pumping and laughing when yet another girl gave him what for.
What did finally make me relent was the way Riley depicted his honesty and directness to explaining and making good on his monumental stuff up.
The descriptive writing and in depth plotline that spilled on to the page then seeped into my pores gave me pause on my mad as all get out feelings.
Having been in Dylan's grief shoes i assimilated and capitulated.
After all, he is a TC member and his brothers love him.
And so I settled back and let him crawl back into sawyer and my good graces.
From there the bantering, courting, steam and flirting just rolled along with its ups and downs. Then it continues on the flipside, and sawyer needs a shake, until she gets her heart hurt in more ways than one. .. and so the roller coaster continues and the emotions churn.
Once negative family values surfaced in a major way, the sadness became palpable and I was wondering how this story was going to escape the corner it seemed to be creeping into. So it was with suprise that a sensitive, tortured topic written out loud was the answer, as well as the paving of the way to the mystery and angst that spilled out along the way.
It was also awesome to see the matriarchs come to the forefront. There was laughs, emotions, and all round good feelings in abundance. Just loved it.
Riley's trope is loud, proud and strong in this book and with her regular storyline i got my H and h organising their baggage, loyalty, Love, steam, and family values all heading towards my HEA.
Then I get dumped into panic mode when things go awry and I just kept yelling for Dylan to hurry up, it was just so Riley to put the melting icing on the cake.
Conquered is yet another great instalment to TC and to Riley's books.
Connor and Mckenzie are brilliant as always.

Another book by Riley Edwards is about to be released. This time it’s
Conquered’. The 6th book in the Triple Canopy series. This is Dylan and Sawyer’s book. I’ve given you the basics…now it’s time for my review.
If I could give this book a gazillion stars it still wouldn’t be enough. I’ve mentioned before that Riley Edwards writes “literary masterpieces” [yes this is my opinion but it’s also the truth] so in my mind this also translates to her being a “literary genius” [again my opinion but I stand behind my statement that this is the truth]. I’ve also mentioned that there are few authors that hold this title [yep…again this is my opinion and a hard truth]. If you’ve read some of my previous reviews, I think I also told you why I hold this to be true. If you haven’t? Then be prepared, I’m going to share my thoughts…
Riley Edwards again has shown us why she is an exceptional author with Conquered. Less than 24 hours was all it took for me to devour this book. And there was A LOT to be devoured. There’s laughter, exquisite pain, reflection, hope and best of all LOVE. These are the elements that run through almost every Riley Edwards story. She gives you the feels but in such a way that you feel honored to be sharing the journey with her characters. She gives you life lessons, things that show the reader that they are not the are not alone. We ALL have scars and battle daily to get through them. She gives you hope…it’s not an easy story from beginning to end but with conviction, love and empathy we can all learn to be better people.
This isn’t me preaching to you that we all need to be kind [although it’s something we should all strive for]. This isn’t me getting up on a soap box and telling you these books NEED to be read [although again you get so much more than just a romance story]. Yes, these books are fiction but you take away so much more. Yes, these characters are fictional but they are also REAL. I guess in the end, what I would want you to take away from my review is that Conquered is more than just the next book in a Riley Edwards series. Dylan and Sawyer will give you HOPE. We’re all a little broken. We just need to find our “family” to find peace.
Get this book. Get ALL of the books Riley Edwards has written. Keep them. Re-read them. Devour them. You’ll be a better person because of it.

Yes, these books are fiction but you take away so much more. Yes, these characters are fictional but they are also REAL. I guess in the end, what I would want you to take away from my review is that Conquered is more than just the next book in a Riley Edwards series. Dylan and Sawyer will give you HOPE. We’re all a little broken. We just need to find our “family” to find peace.
Get this book. Get ALL of the books Riley Edwards has written. Keep them. Re-read them. Devour them. You’ll be a better person because of it.

This is book 6 in the Triple Canopy series and I would read the previous books before this one, even though this book could stand on it's own. In this one we get Dylan and Sawyer's story. Dylan has a past that he wasn't ready to confront, not until he realized that he will lose Sawyer before he ever really had her. But that also forces him to face the fact that he hurt her in a way that he would never have meant, and he doesn't even remember it. But can he earn her trust when she learned the hard way that the people you care about will betray you? Sawyer thought her night with Dylan was something that was going to finally lead into something more. Until he says something that she can't get out of her head. She feels like it has just reinforced what she was always told-she was stupid and undeserving of love. But when Dylan starts to truly open up to her, she has to do the same and realize that there is nothing wrong with her. And just when they finally start to build something together, danger comes in a way that they weren't expecting.
I absolutely loved this story!! Dylan has so many issues related to his past-and no one really knows them because he doesn't share or get close to people due to those issues. But the guilt and anger he feels are completely understandable while at the same time heartbreaking. Sawyer has some pretty big issues of her own due to her family. And while some people won't truly understand how as an adult they can still affect her-as the child of a parent who thoroughly enjoyed bashing their child's psyche, I can absolutely relate to how she feel's. It's hard to get past the words you have heard your whole life and know that they aren't the truth, especially when you still hear them when something happens in your life. Your parents are supposed to love and support you, and when they don't and constantly put you down or scream at you-it's difficult to get those words and actions out of your head. The way these two come together and truly communicate and work out their issues is beautiful. The fact that they are protective of not only each other but they put the work in even while being afraid? That is the true beauty of this book. I loved every single bit of it and didn't want it to end one hand but on the other-I desperately wanted something to happen to her parents in a big way!

Conquered: Triple Canopy Book 6 is by Riley Edwards. This book and the others in the series have one major flaw and that is the emphasis on the sex scenes. There are just too many and too detailed to really enjoy the books. This book actually has much fewer of the sex scenes in it and more of the story which makes it more interesting. The stories, however, are really good and the writing is as well, therefore, I have to give them a high score. This book is about Sawyer and Dylan.
Dylan Walsh was brought to TC by Blake to help with the computer searches, etc. He had been working for NSA. He had moved from Texas to NSA with his wife Felicity. She didn’t like the cold weather and that became a source of contention between them. She had promised him five years at NSA and after two wanted to return to Texas. He had already given up the idea of having children and refused to leave NSA. One snowy day, she complained as she left for work driving in the snow. She was in an accident and died. He felt guilty for arguing with her over the snow and not letting her return to Texas. He had been living with that guilt for ten years. Only the men at TC and Blake knew of his past because of the background check they had done. On the anniversary day of her death, he had gone to a bar and was drinking until he could drink no more, then planned to take a taxi home. Sawyer, who also worked at TC and had a crush on him, went to the bar and was drinking with him. She was the one to take him home and they ended up in bed. However, the next day, he remembered nothing after drinking at the bar. Unfortunately, during their activities that night, he had called her Felicity.
Of course, Sawyer took objection to his calling her another woman’s name. She vowed to have nothing more to do with him, especially when she learned Felicity was his wife. The only way to dig himself out of this was to tell her the entire story, one he had never told anyone. Could he find the strength inside of him to tell her?

My emotions have been rung through the ringer and I am spent…but in the best way possible. In the last book in this series, Tainted, a bomb drop between Dylan and Sawyer had me anxiously waiting to see what Dylan’s story is and how he will recover and save face with Sawyer….so worth the wait.
Dylan has a past he doesn’t talk with any of his brothers at Triple Canopy, he’s part of their family but he’s always kept himself on the fringes, not getting too close and not letting anyone in. Sawyer breaks through those walls, chipping away piece by piece and after what happened between them, he needs to show all of himself to her or he will lose the best thing that has ever happened to him. Sawyer has her own struggles, her past and present she can’t break free from, but with the help from Dylan and the rest of the family, including the women/mothers, who are their own force to be reckoned with….they will learn what family really means.
Spent…spent…spent…emotional roller coaster, ups…downs…ups…phew….stock in Kleenex is a must with the amount of tissues needed. A beautiful, heartbreaking and heart wrenching journey these two go through to get to their HEA, mixed in with a bit of suspense when one of their lives is in mortal danger. I LOVED Sawyer, her loyalty in the beginning towards Dylan, protecting him from their friends after all that went down between them. Dylan, his persistence, honesty and protectiveness towards Sawyer and even all that had happened that started their journey…still sighing and swooning. The story flowed beautifully without skipping a beat and this author proves once again why it’s an automatic one click for any of her books.

Dylan and Sawyer
I felt like this book brought everything together. It brought the original founders of Triple Canopy back and all the current members were still very relevant to the story. Dylan had been a background character since the beginning of the Next Generation series and was very much a mystery, and now it was finally his turn.
Dylan and Sawyer had been circling each other for months, and when Sawyer made a move at the wrong time, Dylan made a monumental mistake and doesn’t know how he can fix it. He is forced to face his demons or lose Sawyer and when faced with that choice, the decision for him is easy. He puts in the effort to show Sawyer he can be everything for her. And when he discovers her secrets, he makes it his mission to show her what love should look like.
Sawyer is facing her own demons at the onset of her relationship with Dylan. She’s never had anyone who stood up for her or fought for her and suddenly she has Dylan all in and Reagan Clark and Lilly Lennox fighting over who gets to be her surrogate mother. She is forced to face her demons and let go of her guilt and Dylan is there for her at every turn.

Dylan was a part of Triple Canopy before Carter’s SEAL team joined and he had a relationship with Blake and the original owners of Triple Canopy. The sheer addictive joy of a Riley Edwards story - you know your emotions are going to be shredded, it’s going to be raw in places and so sweet in others, you’re going to fall in love, oh yeah it will be hot and you won’t be able to put it down, you’ll be gutted when it’s finished because the ride is over and all you want to do is jump back on and read it all over again. Yes, that is Conquered and I loved it!
Dylan Welsh has been part of the Triple Canopy family from the beginning but has always held part of himself back, keeping his feelings tightly in check so he’s not ready to admit he’s been captivated by Sawyer Glasgow from the start. Sawyer has crushed on Dylan from the start and when finally she thought their relationship is about kick start into something more Dylan destroys her with the wrong word. Dylan realises he is about to lose the woman of his dreams but can he put his past in the past and open up to the future he wants with Sawyer, he is going to have to regain her trust and convince her she is so worthy of love despite a lifetime of family betrayal. There is nothing Dylan won’t do for Sawyer as he fights for her heart and their future and they learn the real, true meaning of family isn't always tied to blood. I love all the TC couples and Dylan and Sawyer are right up there - they fit, the chemistry, the humour, the love. Also, great to catch up with some of the rest of the TC family as it grows. Dylan may have been the last man standing at TC (that does make me sad, guess I’ll just have re-read them all now) but now we know Phoenix Kent’s story is coming. I can’t recommend this enough, read it, read them all.

Triple Canopy 6 is AMAZING!
Oh my WOW, Riley Edwards!!!! I love Love LOVE everything to do with the 707 Freedom series and its spinoffs, Next Generation and Triple Canopy. This series has everything - hot AF alpha heroes, heroines who are as strong as they are gorgeous, military-themed suspense, sizzling love stories…I could go on and on. In “Conquered,” Book 6 of the Triple Canopy lineup, we get to revisit the whole cast of characters as Dylan, a super-smart, sexy, and heartachingly tortured operative, and Sawyer, one of the Women, Inc. crew and dear friend of most of the women in the second generation of the clan, go through the twists and turns of finding their HEA. There’s so much going on for these two individually that makes their love story one that we can’t help but get caught up in. So much chemistry - those lip biters and pearl clutchers that keep us turning the pages - in addition to some suspense, an amazing, well-developed plot, and the Clark-Lenox-McCoy-Walker family…such a special story. Sawyer’s personal story touched me in a very raw way, and it only made me love the relationship she’s trying to build with Dylan more. I got teary-eyed more than once, and I was so friggin’ excited to “catch up” with my favorite characters. It honestly reminded me why I've read this world of books so many times and inspired me to start from the beginning again. I love this one SOOOO much, Riley Edwards. ALL THE STARS!

Riley really gutted me with this story, chapter 20 most especially.
I loved this book so much because it exposed a lot of deep real emotions.
Dylan and Sawyer had to face their demons and bring their painful pasts to the surface in order to trust each other and allow love into their relationship. Dylan had to be ok with pushing Sawyer enough to help her break her wall down that she put around herself. Sawyer grew up with a dysfunctional family because of having a mother who mistreated and abused her and her siblings as well as their father. She didn’t know how to love and be loved.
Dylan had to make peace with his wife’s death that was sudden, and their relationship being strained and on the verge of ending prior to her death. He felt guilty for not being able to make peace before she passed away.
Connor Crais and Mackenzie Cartwright were perfection in this story with their performances.
“Everything is you. It’s the pain of my past, the struggle to let go and move on knowing that you’re moving on with me. The resilience I see when I look at you, knowing that you’ve got your own battles and you’re besting them, moving on and letting me do that with you”
” If she’s your one, you gotta be prepared to fall to your knees, brother. It also means swallowing your fears and giving her something worth holding onto”

Sawyer and Dylan are such a great couple, filled with chemistry and heat. Both have a trauma-based past (and present) which I think helps them understand the other. There were a few things that put this book into the 4-4.5 star range for me…picky things others would probably overlook…but I still highly recommend it to new and seasoned readers of this series as well as Ms. Edwards.
I could argue that Sawyer’s reaction to wrong words/wrong time were a bit over the top. Then again, her background could be used to explain it. Also, for a family/company of butinskies…lovable though they are…it took the Triple Canopy gang years to really “know” Dylan. Kudos to Quinn, one of my very favorite characters of the series, to be that friend who digs deep…with both MCs…and gives each what they need.
My very favorite people, though, were the OG girl gang…the “Aunts”. When you read it, you’ll know what I mean! But, I needed more exploration, not just that emotional scene. And I also wanted/needed more closure into Sawyer’s messy family explosion.
Otherwise, I adored the dynamic between these two broken souls who heal each other, and themselves. It was a wonderful addition to this big, boisterous, wonderful family of protectors.

Prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride in Conquered! If you have been reading the other Triple Canopy stories then you know it was only a matter of time until Dylan and Sawyer had a blow up of epic proportions and Conquered does not disappoint! If you haven't read the other Triple Canopy books I do recommend going back to the beginning because not only are they very good but there are so many inter-connected characters that it adds to the enjoyment of this story. Dylan has been holding a lot of his personal history back from his friends and co-workers but so has Sawyer. After the shocking ending of Tainted we begin the journey of healing for Sawyer and Dylan. These two are drawn to each other but in order to achieve the type of relationship that they both desire and want they are both going to need to dig deep and unearth their past traumas and work through them instead of burying them. As you can tell I am a big fan of Ms. Edwards writing style and her work. I have read almost every book that she has written and keep coming back for more. Conquered is definitely one of my favorites. It was told from dual POV and has all the feels, angst, anger, humor, friendship, lust and ultimately love.

Loved Every Minute
Riley Edwards never disappoints and Book 6 of Triple Canopy is no exception! Sawyer and Dylan’s story will captivate you from the first scene to the last page! Sawyer has been abused by her parents her entire life both physically and emotionally; which has caused her to never fully know what love is suppose to be because she’s never felt it. She has been in love with Dylan since she first laid on eyes on him but Dylan is hiding from his past and is punishing himself for things that were beyond his control. However, he wants to do better and be better to earn Sawyer’s love. Dylan is dealing with a lot of past baggage and he doesn’t want that to stop his ability to have a future with Sawyer. Once he learns about Sawyer’s abuse from her parents he goes directly into protective mode and will do anything to help her conquer those fears and to show her how great life is when you are loved! As always we get to see all our favorite families and characters from the other books and it brings a smile to your face how amazingly real these characters are. You will no doubt laugh, cry, and smile by the end. Also, you get a teaser for Book 7 in the last chapter and I cannot wait to see how Phoenix & Wren’s story plays out. Happy Reading!!

Riley Edwards really drilled down deep and jam packed Conqueredm with the deepest emotions imaginable. It's raw. It's passionate. It's filled with guilt, remorse, self reproach and shame over past relationships and ancient history. Emotional and verbal abuse along with toxic family dynamics are also explored. Conversely the power forgiveness, understanding and having close knit family, not all of whom are blood related, who have your back and care about you through thick and thin. No matter they're there for you whether you let them or not is driven home in the very best ways.
Dylan Welsh and Sawyer Glasgow are kindred souls in many ways. They're both emotionally damaged. They hide their pasts. They are always there for someone else but never ask for help. They've been circling each other for years with stolen glances and looks of longing, thinking no one is watching. HA! A need to clear the air after a big time screw up on Dylan's part finally starts a much needed conversation. It's not easy and leads to some bearing of souls. Book 6 of Triple Canopy was an emotional read and Riley Edwards didn't shy from 2 difficult subjects. One being the "dead spouse" trope, of course this isn't something new to Ms Edwards as she's written this trope before. However, if done wrong the reader will be left to feel that the FMC comes 2nd to the dead wife, thankfully this is not so in this book. The next is about abuse, as we all know abuse comes in all shapes and forms. In this story, this is verbal abuse from a mother to her children and a wife to her husband. It was horrible, another difficult subject to broach but again, Ms Edwards did it with class. I especially am thankful that Ms Edwards brought forward the matter of wife abusing their husbands (as always, it is the other way round) and it was heartbreaking to read.
The highlight of this book for me is the OG ladies of 707 series (if you haven't read this series, I highly recommend that you do) I adore them and totally love that they took Sawyer under their wing (especially Reagan).

This is the first book I read by the author and I was mesmerized. You get all the feels from the beginning as we dive deep from chapter 1 invoking raw emotions.
Sawyer and Dylan might have finally acted upon their attraction/crush but one mistake from Dylan has costed a future together.
My heart broke for Dylan knowing his past and the guilt he carried. He is a part of the group but always stays away from them punishing himself, not forming deeper connections. But he does not realise that he is already deeply connected to each one at Triple Canopy and the extended family. Sawyer has her own demons to rid off thanks to her family.
I loved how Dylan and Sawyer's bond grew, how they started understanding each other and stood by one another. The suspense and drama adds to their romance.
Quinn was one of my favourite characters and can't wait to read all the books in this series.
Although it can be read as a standalone it's best to read the other book in the series to better understand all the characters and storylines.

Riley Edwards takes us back to the Triple Canopy world with Conquered and all I can say is that I am TOTALLY here for it. It is book six in the series and while it could be read as a stand-alone, I do recommend reading the others in the series first. Ms. Edwards is truly a gifted writer. She is able to create a world that feels realistic and that has characters who feel like they are real people. This book was everything I thought it would be-emotional, gripping, and full of so much love and friendship.
Dylan and Sawyer are two fantastic characters that have been in love with each other, without the other one knowing, for a while. They have been tiptoeing around it not realizing that everyone else knew their feelings before they did. But after one disastrous night, the road to get their happy ever after gets even harder and seems nearly impossible.
This book was amazing! I loved the writing, the characters, and the overall feel of it. I am so excited for the next book in this series. Highly recommend reading it!

Stand alone? The couples story is complete and as long as you don’t read the last chapter there is no cliffhanger but the story includes character crossover, overarching storylines, and a timeline of events that could spoil earlier books if not read in order. I suggest going back to the beginning of the family tree and reading in order all the way from the 707 series.
The very first time Dylan’s past was mentioned in a previous book I about went nuts, chomping at the bit for his story to release. Then, when it did I was swamped with life, and work, and a backlog long enough to cause my eyes to cross. It took me a while to finally get to reading it. I tell you all of that to say this: This book was absolutely worth every second of the wait. Every. Last. Second.
When I started it I had an idea of how I thought it would go. I was wrong. It was so much better than how I pictured it going. This was my favorite of the series so far and I am beyond excited for the next one.
