The strongest desire of the human soul is to receive love and justice. No one is spared the refining of the soul which is always a painful trial; yet, for those who refuse to remain in the stagnant mire of pain, but instead push through it no matter the circumstances, will live in strength! The novel Thy Neighbor by Trisha Hasbrouck delivers a riveting mystery, tattered lives given hope, compassionate friendships but with an uninvited Judas, and an intertwining romance to bring a truly fulfilling and thoroughly enjoyable read!
Great writing style allowing the reader to imagine characters in their own minds. I planed reading about 4 chapters a day, but about half way through the book, I was compelled to find out __________, and couldn’t let it go or put it down. Mission: finished the next half of the book in one read. Mission accomplished, and glad I started the book. Cheers!
I enjoyed this book just as much as her first novel. It was entertaining with a solid plot and well-developed characters. I enjoyed the voice of a strong but damaged twenty-something woman. The budding romance was just as thrilling as the murder mystery. Fun read!
I cannot recommend this book highly enough! It is mystery, drama, suspense, romance, thriller, and yet flows so seamlessly. No spoilers, but this story gave me moments of real tears, audible gasps, and Apple Watch-verified tachycardia. The author has such an impressive ability to weave different threads together in a way that doesn’t feel too busy or cause me to lose interest/feel impatient to “get back” the the main storyline. Also, be sure to check out The Collection by the same author (and shout out to Tyler, TX)!
