Born and raised in Arkansas. After wandering the world for 17 years (okay, it was Memphis, but it felt like another world!), I've made it home again. I live in a small vine covered cottage on the shores of a 8,000 acre lake with 2 dogs, a bitchy parrot and my fisherman husband. Live is good.

This review is based only on the following story.

Last Love - Melissa Schroeder

This one is set in the author's Juniper Springs series and was a good little addition. I loved how fate kept intervening between Mason and Liv. From their one night stand to ending up living next to each other. I also loved how in the time between the night and being neighbors neither of them could get the other out of their mind. Liv seemed to have more at stake, her kids, first man after her husband died, some lingering issues she never confronted. Mason was a champ and was there when he needed to be, gave her space when she needed it. But it was his talk with both kids that won me over that he was the best guy for Liv, despite all the other crap. I was just happy she agreed.

I read Nobody's Hero by Laura Trentham. Nobody's Hero is the story of Maggie, a "romantically" inexperienced woman who secretly writes romance novels, and Clayton, an ex-convict who is totally charmed by her. Maggie is determined to finally go after what she wants...and she wants Clayton. Add an adorable pup to this coming together of two sweet characters who produce more steam than a teapot and there's great reading satisfaction.

I can't wait to read the whole collection if the rest of the stories are as good as this one was!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. All thoughts are my own.

Last Love byMelissa Schroeder is the only book I’ve read so far. I actually got it as an ARC from Booksprout and now I need to pick up this book because it has to be amazing if it contains this book and some amazing other authors.

Umm wow, like you know where it’s going just not how they are going to get there! Masons and Liv were fun but still has all the feels. I love all of the characters and can’t wait for Avery’s story. I hope you love this as much as I did!.

Review for Last Love by Melissa Schroeder

I really enjoyed reading Last Love by Melissa Schroeder and being back in Juniper Springs. I liked how Mason and Liv first met and enjoyed seeing them fall in love. This author always does a great job creating likable characters, witty dialogue and humor that has you smiling. I’m also a huge fan of single parent trope and the cute kids and Houdini, the dog made this book even better. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Review for Who’s a Good Dog by Lexxie Couper

This was such a fun read that put a smile on my face. Lexxie Couper did a great job with the storytelling and bringing Tim and Chelsea together. There was an instant attraction between Tim and Chelsea when they first laid eyes on each other and I enjoyed how their relationship developed in such a short time. I loved seeing everyone’s interaction with the dogs and I adored Tim’s young daughter, Ellie who was a total scene stealer along with Wilbur.

Nobody’s Hero by Laura Trentham 4.5 Stars
Clayton is an ex-con who's charmed by Maggie who owns Abigail’a, a fancy dress store with her sister & she also writes romance novels & has a crush on Clayton. Throw into the mix an abandoned puppy & you have one delightful steamy read . There’s two lovely characters, a bit of angst, secrets, his backstory & of course one very cute pup. Plus great chemistry. A well written easy to read novella which ticked all the boxes for me
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

ARC review of Last Love by Melissa Schroeder

I thought that this was a great book. I really enjoyed Mason and Liv. These two have a night of “fun” and neither can get the other out of their heads. So image their surprise when, they realize that they are now neighbors. Liv tries to keep away but fate and Houdini have other plans for her. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it.

I have been totally emersed in this entertaining anthology of romance, rescue dogs, and sometimes their owners who also need rescuing:

Doggie on Her Doorstep: Emily's irresponsible cousin left town but before doing so, tied her dog up on Emily's doorstep with the full expectation that she would step up to the plate and take care of Rex. Fortunately, the mountain of a dog is sweet-natured, except when he goes after a rabbit and churns up the neighbor's newly-planted tulips. Unfortunately, Ben Stone is not in a good place, having taken refuge in his new home after a traumatic event, and takes his stress out on Emily. She doesn't have time for a hound in her daily schedule at the bakery, but her need meets Ben's as they trade dog-sitting for meals, which Ben desperately needs. A friendship develops between them and Rex brings new hope and comfort to both Emily and Ben, forcing them to deal with the issues in their lives.

Who's a Good Boy? A light-hearted romance develops between politician Tim Holt and dog-trainer Chelsea Parker when his newly acquired three-legged rescue dog needs training. Their initial accidental meeting results in a bottle of pineapple juice being upended over him, but Tim is a real honey and his laid-back attitude, delivered with a big smile, immediately reels Chelsea in. Adding to the picture, Tim's seven-year-old daughter is as cute as a button and they look set to go, until the master manipulators in Tim's life butt in and try to derail the budding romance.

Hot Assets: One night was all it took to leave an indelible mark on the lives of Andi Carmichael and Detective Zack Noles seventeen years previously. When an elderly neighbor takes a tumble in the middle of the night, they both rush to her rescue, and although Andi does not immediately recognize Zack, she can hardly be blamed for that as they have both matured and a number of changes have taken place. Before being transported to the hospital, the elderly Lillian tasks Andi with keeping her dog Baxter safe at all costs, which she promises to do. Baxter makes himself right at home in Andi's house and at her office, without them realizing how at risk the pooch is. Apart from finding that the old attraction is still very much alive, Zack and Andi make a good team solving the mystery around Lillian's fall and Baxter's importance in the bigger scheme of things.

Rescuing Orion: FBI agent Katie Dean is settling into her new home, bequeathed to her by her grandmother. However, she cannot still the longings of her heart and memories of a member of the task force she had previously worked with, Zeke Ramon. Discovering that she is once again being teamed up with the man who sets her heart racing and this time having to put him up in her own home, masquerading as an engaged couple, Katie is thrown completely off course. In view of the fact that their new operation appears to center around an animal shelter, they are required to visit the shelter as a loving couple, to adopt a dog. Zeke previously managed to squash his feelings for Katie, telling himself that she was much too young and that he had no intention of endangering her by having her in his life. However, as they become increasingly involved in the case, they both find they can no longer harness their feelings for each. With feelings running out of control, they have a hard time separating work from relationships.

Nobody's Hero: Witty and entertaining, Clayton Preston is a man with a prison record, working at a Barbeque Grill, where Maggie takes refuge to write and draw inspiration from Clayton as her muse and the hero of her book. When his attention unexpectedly turns to Maggie, she takes a runner, leaving behind invaluable evidence of her activities. He may be nobody's hero, but Clayton is still a gentleman and seeks Maggie out to return her property, but the grin on his face tells her he has a good understanding of exactly what she is about. Fortunately, Clayton is able to win Maggie over, but not before the same whimpering mutt that has been dogging the backdoor of the restaurant appears in another part of the city, at which point Maggie also takes an interest, and together they bond over the abandoned pup. From opposite sides of the river, Maggie and Clayton should have very little in common, and yet together they turn ordinary human beings into a warm-hearted love story.

Dogs On a Plane: A comedy of errors and a disaster waiting to happen, what should have been 5 rescue dogs that need to be transported to safety, there are now 11 rowdy, barking, yipping, and howling hounds on a small aircraft in the wilds of Canada. Barrett, the long-suffering pilot, finds that he cannot turn away when Beca and her rescues all turn their soulful eyes upon him, and he gets to loading them up into the plane. With a storm coming in and being forced to land to refuel, it is fortunate that they stop over on Barratt's property because before they know it, they are completely snowed in. Caring for the dogs is a full-time occupation, but as they work together, Beca begins to realize that she has more options in life than that of a socialite married to an influential man, one preferably approved of by her parents. When the snow lets up, it's time to make decisions, both regarding the future of the dogs and Beca's own.

Last Love: What happens Vegas is supposed to stay in Vegas, but unfortunately ends up living right next door to widowed Liv and her children, and he is the owner of the restaurant at which they eat, and he is the person their Houdini hound escapes to whenever he feels like some attention or more food. Liv discovers that in their small town, Mason is inescapable but not only that, they become the focus of everyone's attention. Fear of abandonment is a real issue in the lives of Liv and her daughter, although young Sammy, who is in desperate need of a male figure, takes to Mason much the way their dog does. This gentle love story is witty, entertaining, and heart-warming, coming to a sweet conclusion.

The Guy Next Door: Moving into a new neighborhood, Bryan has enough trouble with his micromanaging sister, without having his rascal hound named Lucky getting loose and destroying property. What he found and definitely did not expect, is his toolbelt-wear neighbor out with her power tools and fixing his fence. Amy is cautious and reserved, but also independent and well able to look after herself. Bryan may well have all the ladies eating out of the palm of his hand, but she is definitely the exception. Fortunately, Lucky gets in on the act but Amy has an answer for that too, as her aged hound takes him under her paw and teaches him some manners. This story also comes to a sweet conclusion, with more than one rescue for the record.

Romancing the Grumpy Rancher: Matthew has worked hard to keep his family's ranch in their hands, and to take care of his younger siblings. When city-bred Savannah arrives, ostensibly to assist his sister with a marketing plan for the ranch to attract more visitors, he is highly suspicious. Savannah more or less ignores his attitude, and very soon she starts to get under his skin. However, when she goes off on her own for an overnight trip, Matthew is furious, but also protective and goes after her. What started out as a private getaway, becomes a romantic interlude and Matthew gets far more than we anticipated.

For the Love of Ivy: Widower Seth Anderssen is at the end of his tether after his daughter's accident leaves her with a broken arm and leg, and the Christmas season closing in on them. The only person he can ask to assist him is Psychologist Lauren, his sister's friend, to step into the breach. Lauren is not at all excited at the prospect but agrees to at least have dinner with Seth and Ivy before making a decision. An injured little girl who needs a mother figure in her life, and an equally injured abandoned dog, bring the small household together and make them a family. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy with the outcome, but ultimately Lauren, Seth, and Ivy find a way together.

I received a copy of this delightful anthology as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Reviewer’s note: I would have loved to have read all the novellas included in this anthology but I just couldn’t fit them all into my schedule. I read quite a few though, and I hope you’ll enjoy my reviews of the ones I did read.

Doggie on Her Doorstep by Donna Alward 3.5 stars

Emily arrives home to a dog on her doorstep thanks to her cousin who has moved out of state and when the dog tears up her neighbor’s flowerbeds, she meets him for the first time. He then volunteers to let the dog stay with him while she is at work and a flirtation/friendship begins. This was a cute story; he is recovering from an attack that left him with PTSD and she is still dealing with some issues stemming from childhood so there are some misunderstandings and a bit of angst but the dog Rex kind of steals the show. A sweet romance with a good ending.

Who’s a Good Boy by Lexxie Couper 4.5 stars

I absolutely loved this insta-love story featuring the possible future Prime Minister of Australia and a dog trainer who literally run into one another one morning in front of his home. When their interaction trends on social media Tim decides he needs a reason to get in touch with Chelsea so with his father’s press manager hounding him about buying a dog, Tim is determined to do it his way and adopts a 3 legged dog from a shelter who absolutely stole his heart. His young daughter Ellie is thrilled and Chelsea can’t believe it when he calls and asks for her help. This story was funny, heart-warming, and filled with a few bumps in the road but in the end love wins. I absolutely loved it.

Hot Assets by Cynthia D’Alba 4 stars

I really enjoyed this 2nd chance romance; 17 years ago Andi and Zack had one hot night back in college and they are reunited when their elderly neighbor suffers a fall and they wind up reconnecting as they work to figure out who is targeting their neighbor. I loved these two together and the history they shared and the fact the chemistry was still in full force so many years later. Filled with sass, fun, sexy times, and a bit of suspense this book was an entertaining romance.

Last Love by Melissa Schroeder 4.5 stars

A widowed single mom steps out of her comfort zone during a girl’s weekend in Las Vegas and has one night of pure bliss with a younger man never expecting to see him again so imagine both their surprise when 3 months later she sees him again in his restaurant in the small town she just relocated to and imagine their further surprise when her dog, Houdini, winds up on his doorstep which just happens to be right next door to her new place. I loved these two, both weren’t looking for relationship and love and yet they found it. Three months apart only proved they were still feeling something between them. When Liv’s two kiddos Callie and Sammy take a liking to Mason it seems easy but Liv is dealing with some baggage from losing her husband and Mason won’t back down from calling her out on it. Their chemistry was great and despite the novella length I felt the relationship built at a good pace. I loved this one.

The Guy Next Door by Jenna Bayley-Burke 4 stars

If ever I wanted a novella to be a full length book, this was the book. Not because I was unhappy with the outcome, but because these characters had some interesting life history and I wanted more time for their back story to be fleshed out. Bryan never intended on meeting his next door neighbor because his rescue dog Lucky ate through the fence between their homes and his new neighbor was fixing it, but that’s what happened and meeting Amy was a highlight to his new neighborhood. There was some instant attraction, but because they were neighbors they took it slow not wanting to have to live next door to an ex for the next decade didn’t appeal to either of them. I loved the Bryan was a teacher (the world needs more innovated male teachers) and that he was outnumbered by women in his household growing up giving him an education on how to treat women. He wasn’t a wimp, but he defiantly understood what it meant to be a gentleman. Amy had gone through facial reconstruction many times over her life due to a birth defect and felt that Bryan needed someone prettier than her in his life. While we are told they spent a great deal of time getting to know one another because of the length of this novella we didn’t get to experience in and that was a shame. Again, I was thrilled with this book; their banter, their friendship, and the make out sessions that eventually led to more but I truly would have loved more time getting to know them and seeing their relationship progress to where it was by the end of this story.

I have to say that being an animal lover I was thrilled to get the chance to spread the world about this very worthy cause being supported by some of my favorite romance authors. That said this review focuses exclusively on one story in the anthology, written by one of my favorite authors, Lexxie Couper, aptly named Who’s a Good Boy. In this story we get a sweet glimpse of an insta-love between a sexy politico single father and a sweet and skilled dog-trainer. Tim never imagined that when he collided with a stranger on the sidewalk outside his apartment that his life would change forever, but the sexy woman that knocks him on his ass certainly does that. Chelsea has too much going on in her life to pursue a relationship, but the sweet and enticing single father that has suddenly become part of her life is too hard to resist. A high-speed fall headlong into love for both of them almost comes to a screeching halt when rumors and outside forces try to break them apart, but together they can weather the storm, if they trust their feelings and instincts enough. I really enjoyed this short novella of love and laughter. Tim and Chelsea were both characters that I could see myself being friends with and getting to know personally. Tim has a lot of family issues and, though he loves his little girl Ellie, she certainly makes moving on as a man a little tricky. But the draw that he pulls toward Chelsea makes him willing to go way out of his comfort zone and he even finds himself falling in love with the most unlikely of dogs when he looks for an “in” with her. Chelsea has a lot of insecurities when it comes to her relationships, but she has strong convictions and she is determined to do whatever she has to for her business and her clients. I enjoyed watching her with Tim and his daughter, standing up for herself, and even in her vulnerable moments. The passion between these two was off the charts hot and I loved watching them succumb to it as they found their way into one another’s arms. There really is nothing hotter than a romance between two loving characters caught up in the moment and trying to find a way to understand love at first sight. Lexxie Couper never lets me down and I am thrilled to have had the chance to read her contribution to this sweet and heartwarming project.

Anthology: by dog-loving authors

A collection of K9 heroes and comedians along with their humans. I see and read more and more dog stories, loving them all. Here is a collection of authors who must feel the same. You may be familiar with the authors or this will give you a chance to check out some new-to-you authors. Here are a couple of the included stories.

Doggy on Her Door Step by Donna Alward:
It had been a long day at the bakery and she was tired--and surprised. Tied up on her porch was a dog. She didn't own a dog. After reading the note from her cousin--it seems she did now. Her cousin moved and no pets were allowed. It was too late to do anything about the cute bugger that night or before work so she was stuck until tomorrow.

Tomorrow brought complaints about all the barking and a cranky neighbor. A hot sexy cracky neighbor. Things change a bit, cranky became apologetic and even had a suggestion for day dog care. And we aren't talking about a place where lots of people bring their pets during the day. No, this caretaker was hot and sexy and not cranky.

Is it possible something could brew between them? They both have histories that have kept them from new relationships. Maybe the pooch can change that. Touching, steamy, funny, with some danger thrown in.

Rescuing Orion: by Mandy Harbin
If you are a fan of the author you may be familiar with the Bang Shift series. If so we met the H & h in one of their stories. Both are FBI only in different departments. While it may seem they aren't friendly even though they worked on a case together that is anything but true. Now working together on an assignment that puts them really together is going to make their true feelings harder to deal with (no pun intended-or maybe it was)

What do dogs in this rescue have to do with their case? How are they supposed to fight their feelings undercover as a couple in the same house? She's a well-trained agent and doesn't need to be protected. He is too but also a guy who feels compelled to protect the woman he cares for. Is there just too much keeping them apart or...?

Great characters, plenty of steam and chemistry, with intrigue and danger to keep this one moving.

There are plenty more stories to touch your heart and introduce you to new authors and let you enjoy work from authors you know and love.

Last Love by Melissa Schroeder
Last Love is the story of Liv and Mason falling in love. This is a short story set in Juniper, TX. Mason has been in prior installments and Liv is related to/friends with characters from prior installments. This is an age gap, a second chance at love, and a blended family romance.
Mason meets Liv on a trip to Las Vegas. They click immediately and end up spending the night together. When Liv moves to Juniper, she runs into Mason. He wants a relationship but she is skittish after losing her husband when he was serving in the military overseas. She is also fixated on the fact that she’s older than he is. They have a super-speed romance. There are characters from prior books that make appearances but they really aren’t a major part of the story. In fact, if you have read other books in the series and you are looking for the LOLs to play a major role, you’re plum out of luck!
I like the fact that Mason is so driven to succeed and goes after what he wants. Liv is a good mother and sister. She takes a huge chance moving her kids to Juniper for her new job. The bit of backstory that was given to establish both of them as a people was really good.
I thought that Liv focusing on their age difference was a bit repetitive but then I remembered that this entire relationship takes place over about a 3 week period so I decided to forgive it. I also thought that there were elements of this book that could have been fleshed out more. Then I remembered that this had not been written to be a full-length story but a short story and I decided to forgive that as well.
I recommend this story to anyone looking for a quick read with a guaranteed HEA. Bonus, it ties into the other Juniper books so it's a must-read if you plan to read the series.

I am sure all of these novellas are smashingly great, but this review is only for Nobody's Hero by Laura Trentham.

Wow! From the first page, the author sucks you right into the scene. In such a short amount of pages, Laura Trentham brings such vibrancy and life to her characters and the story. In this novella, Maggie is a romance writer but she doesn't want to tell anyone. She's based her next book on her real life crush, bad boy Clayton, too bad he doesn't even notice her. But he has, and a left behind notebook allows for the perfect introduction.
Although these two are opposites in many ways, their attraction for one another was smoking hot. Add to that the fact that they bond over keeping a lost puppy and you have a swoonworthy story. Clayton is just trying to live his life on the straight and narrow after doing time and Maggie is just trying to find out her life. The title for this collection of stories is apt because both Maggie and Clayton rescued each other, not to mention the sweet puppy! And while Clayton thinks he is nobody's hero, Maggie knows he truly is a hero to everyone.
I really liked this story more than I thought I would and I highly recommend it. The inner monologues of the characters are hilarious yet so real and down to earth, the characters are well rounded for being in such a short story, and did I mention there is a puppy!
I received an advanced copy from the author of just her story and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have read Doggy on Her Doorstep and Hot Assets and they were both awesome reads. If the rest of the boxset is as good as these two books were, then you are in for a treat.

There are ten books in this set, all by great selling authors. I highly recommend that you go ahead and order now before the price goes up. You won't be sorry that you did.

Doggy on Her Doorstep is about Emily who comes home to find out that her cousin Megan has left her dog Rex on her doorstep while she moves to another state to live with her new boyfriend. Rex gets away from Emily and runs through her neighbors flowers and tears them up. When she leaves Rex home alone all the next morning he starts barking and won't stop, upsetting her neighbors. Now she needs to find someone to take care of him while she works.

Hot Assets is about Andi gets a call from her neighbor Lillian letting her know that Lillian had fallen in the kitchen and could not get up. While she was helping Lillian, a man came in the kitchen, he turned out to be Lillian's other neighbor Zack who is a Detective. He came in because Andi had left the door open.

I don't want to give too much away. If you are looking for some really good reads check out this set.

We're back in Juniper Springs and the LOL's are still stirring up the town rumor mill, but this fix up wasn't a product of LOL meddling. Liv is on a sister's trip in Vegas where she meets the handsome restaurant owner Mason. She's older, widowed, and a mom...what could he possibly see in her. Well Mason sees everything and he enjoys the best night of his life with this amazing woman he'll never see again.
Except, he does see her again. Sitting in his restaurant, living in his town, living steps away from him. With their amazing chemistry, will Liv allow age, fear, and the unknown keep her away from the happiness right in front of her?
Mason, Sammy, Liv, Callie and Houdini were the perfect little instant family. I loved that Liv took Mason's words to heart and finally let go of everything she was holding in. I adored the fact the kids saw how happy he made their mom without saying anything until she wasn't happy. Callie was unexpected. The sour patch tween really came through at the end. If you haven't read Melissa's Juniper Springs series...start now.

Every one of my pets on this earth has been rescued in one way or another so when I learned of this collection, well let's just say I was super excited, and it exceeded my wildest expectations. Most of the authors were new to me so that was just a bonus since I love adding new names to the list, and I spent a whole weekend reading every last story but I'm not going to break them down since there's something for everyone with a ton of super cute dogs to help the romance along. Each couple were amazing & I can honestly say that I didn't dislike any of them as they were fixed up by the dogs in all different ways that kept me laughing. I truly believe a reader can never go wrong with a collection since you not only get different stories in one place, but that whole bonus I stated above of meeting new authors. So yeah, you don't want to pass this one up because everyone needs these super cute rescues in their lives! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Reviewing Last Love by Melissa Schroeder.

Short, sexy with heart. It's surprising how much character development can be squeezed into a short book when the right author is involved! This book was a lovely second love romance. We learnt enough about both characters to be sympathetic to their situation, and the story felt well paced. There were quite a few themes in the book which could have warranted more exploration (the kids perspective of a "new guy" in their lives, the community engagement piece, reconciling a list love with a new love etc.) , but that isn't the nature of these Instalove collections. Having said that, it didn't feel overly forced or rushed (though I had questions about the sanity of the heroine for not at least texting her sisters before heading to a stranger's hotel room! Book magic lol).

Worth a read if second love, older woman type romance is your thing I think!.

I was given an opportunity to read an early copy, review provided voluntarily.

Who’s a Good Boy?
Much funnier than I was expecting, my first Lexxie Cooper book. The little girl and dogs stole every scene but Chelsea and Tim had great chemistry. The craziest and most embarrassing meet cute, but it was worked.

Last Love
A Schroeder book gives you smiles, giggles and jealousy. She has multiple series that can be read interchangeably with siblings of characters from other books, it’s a big family tree. I get chills when I recognize which series people are from and how they connect. You could read any book out of order and still enjoy. Mason and Liv had one night together but between the small town and her escaping dog, their world changes.

I loved "Last Love", Book 3 of Juniper Springs by Melissa Schroeder so much. It takes place in the Camo and Cupcake World and I have read every book in this series and I love them all. This one stars Liv who is Fritz's sister (he married Savannah in the original C and C world in the book Scrumptious).

She is a single mom to two kids and she is about 10 years older than Mason, who is also part of the C and C world and his sister is Everly from Wild Love. In Crazy Love we see Mason as he flirts with Piper to drive Carter a bit crazy.

These two meet in Vegas because Liv has a new job and she meets Mason and they have a very hot one night and then 3 months later they find each other again. And I am not spoiling anything else.

This was a fun story and very hot and very romantic. It can stand alone but there are so many characters from the C and C world that a new reader might get confused. If you have been reading this series well you will love this novella.

Cute quick read that has a wonderful storyline and amazing characters. Tim Holt is a single father raising his seven year old daughter Ellie. His wife died from cancer eighteen months ago. He is planning on going into politics and following in his fathers footsteps. Chelsea Parker owns Oh Behave Dog Training in Sydney and has high profile clients. Her brother is the chef and his restaurant has an unreasonable waiting list to get in. I really enjoyed how Tim and Chelsea met and Ellie had me laughing out loud.

This is a great anthology for all.

This review is for Last Love by Melissa Schroeder
Great addition to the Juniper Springs romances. This one brings Mason and Liv's story. They have an instant attraction and a one night stand in Vegas. Now they meet up unexpectedly and it's still there. The author does a beautiful job bringing them together and delivers another fantastic story. Love it !!

I enjoyed this anthology and would recommend reading.

Last Love - Melissa Schroeder
Liv is in Vegas with her gaggle of sisters when she runs into Mason attending a conference. It’s a boing thing with them and she decides to take a chance to feel alive since her husband died on a volunteer deployment while she was pregnant. It’s been five years and time for a new start, new town and new house closer to home. When she is out to eat with family, who is running the restaurant, none other than Mason. Bigger surprise, she finds out he lives next door when searching for her dog Houdini. She’s hesitant to get involved with him as he is younger and afraid he will leave her. Can he convince her to try? Very enjoyable read!!!.

I read "Who's A Good Boy" by Lexxie Couper
This story was fantastic. I loved it! The chemistry between the two was intense, and so well described it gave me butterflies right along with them. It was like being twitterpated in early spring. It's the kind of story that when you have to stop for a minute, you're thinking of it and how cute it all is. At least I think it would be, I never put it down - once I started I had to finish it, and if it had been longer, I'd have read right on through the night. Thank goodness with wasn't.
Tim is a single dad, environmentalist, academic heading into the political arena. The son of a former prime minister, he's expected to present a certain image, to follow a specific path...not the path that runs him right into the beautiful dog trainer Chelsea Parker and her open pineapple juice.
Chelsea is better with animals than people. She understands dogs, can sense their moods, understands what they are doing. People? Not so much. So when she runs into the super cute man with the adorable little girl, and they make eye contact that seems to go deeper than a passing glance, when they make a couple silly comments and exchange smiles...he might be flirting. Are they flirting? No, they can't be flirting, she's misreading it. Is she misreading it? Spoiler alert, she's not.
And of course, there's Tim's adorable, feisty little 7 year old girl Ellie. She's very amused by her father on his bum covered in juice. Even she notices the lingering eye contact. Then we have Wilbur and Gary, 2 rescue dogs that help to further this budding relationship along.
It's a short read and I was sad when it was over, but everything was so well written and descriptive, nothing really wasting the reader's time, so it didn't feel rushed or like it was only half a story. It was an engaging, charming, warm, sweet, funny romance.

A great boxset, my review is for Last Love by Melissa Schroeder, but I couldn't help myself I had to snap up a copy to check out the other stories.
Last Love by Melissa Schroeder - A trip to Vegas is just what she needed, for Liv hasn't let off any steam or done some crazy for so long. And Mason was just the man, she needed, but she never did find out where he was from, so she is surprised when she sees him next. I loved the passion between Liv and Mason, how both of them leaped off the page and I couldn't help but love them. I loved the humour, their families and an older woman claiming a younger man. Liv and Mason's story was wonderful, and I can't wait to read Avery's one.

Review for Last love by Melissa Schroeder:
This author never disappoints and this book was no different. This is the story about Liv and Mason. I really loved reading Mason first person point of view. He was a great hero and for me it's a guy who makes or breaks the story. I couldn't put this book down. 5 stars.

This was soooo good! Who doesn't love dogs? And even if you don't, there is no way your heart won't be happy after reading this. Most of the authors in this collection were new to me and I loved discovering and reading their stories. Now I will have to pick up more from them as well because these were just touching and exactly what I needed.

My review is for "Last Love" by Melissa Schroeder

I am enjoying the Jupiter Springs series. The characters are so well developed. They are fun, sweet, and quirky. The dialogue is witty, sarcastic, and humorous.

Mason and Liv were a cute couple. I really liked both of their characters and they seemed to have great chemistry. I always enjoy a single parent romance where the SO gets along with the kids so well.

It was never clear to me how much older Liv was than Mason. She always made it sound like she was ancient compared to him. I'm not sure if an exact number was every given, or if it was hinted at a couple of times. I know Mason said he was nearly thirty.

I was surprised the LOL's didn't make more of an appearance in this book. I think Mason and Liv had an easier time with less LOL involvement, although I do not think that it is possible to have secrets in Juniper Springs.

This is a feel good book that can be read in one sitting. It is no/low angst story that left me with a smile on my face. I loved the ending prior to the epilogue. I am giving this book 4.75 stars. I have never given a book 4.75 stars, but I will admit that I am being petty. I wish there had been more of a Mason and Liz epilogue along with the epilogue at the end of the book. I did enjoy the epilogue, and I am looking forward to reading Avery's book.
