Lethal DeLuca That’s what they call me in the underground world. During the day, I parade around as a man who saves lives, secretly taking them in the dead of night. I was hired to end her. Hired to rid the threat she caused to The Ruin. Little did I know the only threat she caused was to me. I want her.
You can fall in the love with The Ruin, but you won’t survive it. I was young, charmed by the monster who was my husband. But things soon turned dangerous inside my home, and I was made to be the enemy for his cowardice. I wanted to run, but he ensured I couldn’t escape the world he ran. Instead, he wants to end me. Take my breath from my body. Only problem—I didn’t know when the enemy was coming. Then he took me.
I had mixed feelings about this because I was meh with Arabella.. I understood where she was coming from and clapped she got birth control and hid it from her "manwhore husband" my thing is she was a door mat to that husband she let that guy screw her when he came to visit her.. husband duty.. didn't fight nothing only thing she did was take birth control... I was disappointed she didn't fight that.. she didn't even like the man..so when DeLuca her kidnapper and H took her she finally fought back.. AGAINST THE WRONG GUY!!! lord... 90% was annoyed with that woman.. as for DeLuca omg he can get it!! Even if he was a killer he was a respectful and gentleman type of man which was AMAZING!!! ugh lord Bella that's the type of husband you needed!!!

Having never read Robichaux and Monroe together, I wasn't sure what I was getting. However, I am intrigued by the authors in this Underworld Kings series. And I refuse to not read a book in it.
Bad Medicine is a complicated story about falling in love with the man paid to kill you. Arabella and DeLuca are a couple that is never supposed to be together. He is hired to kill her, and she, of course, wants nothing to do with him when she finds out. But the back and forth between them keeps you going while reading.
This is the story that makes you want to be kidnapped 😂
First off DeLuca…? That mannnnnn can take me any day. As long as he worships me like he did Arabella.
I really liked this fast paced, sexy, lighter mafia vibe. You really got to see a different side of the mafia then you usually do in books. I say light because we don’t see a lot of day to day dealings, but more behind the scenes: actions and reactions. Which I loved. But you still get the grit of mafia life.
I am always pleasantly surprised when reading a co-written book, the styles of these two authors similar enough that most wouldn’t be able to discern which wrote whom…but, it’s a fun little game I like to play and figure it out.
About this story: written in a world I have yet to explore, this was a fun one. Quickly paced, with its share of steam and suspense, I hope to read the rest of the series/world sooner rather than later.
DeLuca is a doctor by day, assassin by night and his latest mark throws him for a loop. Arabella, mafia princess, is no longer needed by her husband—her inability to provide him an heir but helping to keep the peace between feuding families no longer enough to warrant her life.
But it’s not so simple, she’s The Ruin’s princess…and to hire a hit means there needs to be a good reason. War is the result and we can’t have that…So,hired guns…make it look intentional…easy peasy.
Until he actually sees her. DeLuca will risk heaven and raise hell to protect the very woman he was sent to eliminate. But, is keeping her enough? What happens when she moves from one gilded cage to the next? Is her life really worth living if it’s only by the will of another?
I had to know! And so do you. So pick this up and find out if the good doctor can keep his oath or if he’s doomed to repeat the same patterns as his employer.
And if you love these authors as I do, you’ll enjoy trying to decide which chapters came from which author…but you’ll love every one just the same.
Happy Reading—we can all use a little Bad Medicine in our lives.
This book had potential but it was diminished by how fast everything happened. I think if the story wasn't as rushed it would have been better. Even though this wasn't my favorite of this interconnected world of books, I still appreciate the authors and their hard work.
I was going to rip this author a new one but it's not even worth my energy. The moment the MCs met the book went to shit ...I kid you not, this book is daft. My goodness!
This was quite a fun quick read, and I really enjoyed this installment in this multi author series. I've never read either of the authors work before, and always happy to find new ones in the mafia genre.
This quickie is about Arabella who has been in an arranged marriage to a complete ahole for a few years, and Deluca the doctor by day, assassin by night... Deluca is hired by the husband to kill Arabella and make it look like a suicide. However, he's never killed a woman before and when he sees her he's questioning if the husband has lied about his reasons for wanting her dead (he claimed she was going to take down the ruin).
We get a fun whirlwind kidnapping romance with a few twists thrown in. It wasn't too dark or emotional which was what I wanted after having a few of those in a row recently. I'd definitely like to read more by these authors and see what they do with a full length book.
DeLuca, is a Dr who owns his own practice, and is also a member of The Ruin. The Ruin is also where we have Arabella's father who is a very prominent member. DeLuca is often hired by members of The Ruin to do tasks.
Arabella, has always been in an arranged marriage, ever since she was a child she knew she would marry not for love. Arabella meets DeLuca and finds that she might be able to have love in her life, too bad she's married to someone else.
Will Arabella be able to have something with DeLuca? Will Arabella's father be able to see how miserable Arabella is with her husband?
I did receive a free ARC Copy of this book. I am freely leaving an honest review.
This was one hot book! Definitely should get 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 instead of stars. I love the strength of Arabella and DeLuca, individually and as a couple.
This one's got it all! Fear, anxiety, lust, love, sadness, happiness...
And having read other books by these two together before, I love to play a game while reading, to figure out who wrote which parts. But, their styles are so similar, it's just seamless and fabulous! I devoured it!
If it's wrong to fall for the hitman who was hired to kill me, I don't want to be right! DeLuca is everything I want in a mafia story! Whew! KD and Cece do it again seamlessly. You can't tell where one authors writing stops and the others begins! Flawless delivery and addicting story!!
I never know what to expect when I pick up a book by Robichaux and Monroe. They bring the heat in this mafia inspired romance. The only spoiler I'll let slip is it reminded me a bit of Beauty and the Beast, but I am here for it!
I don’t know how this author does it time and time again but she pulls me in and I can’t stop reading until it’s finished!!! Her words flow straight to the imagination making it like a movie playing out in my head every detail pure perfection!!!!!
Uhhhhh, wow…I almost have no words for how HOT this book is!!! This is my first time reading either author and let me tell you, it won’t be my last!!! What an awesome collaboration, I DEVOURED this book in like 6 hours…holy hotness…
Wow, just wow lol. This book kept me hooked making it an easy read not wanting to put it down. The darkness and the way their relationship started to how it blossomed into what it was! Highly recommend
Now this was a great mafia read ladies. Lots of twists and turns in this story. The doctor is in the house. A mafia princess is forced into a kidnapping. Lots of steamy scenes. Excellent story.
Fast paced and insta love/lust story and almost no angst, the kind of story i needed to fuel the in between of heavy reads. The hot scenes were fire and the story didn't lack any intensity for being short and fast paced.
Arabello and Marcello, they meet in the most unusual of circumstances and their story continues down the unusual path. She hates him, she loves him, she’s married to someone else (a creep) and with all that they still manage to work.
This book is amazingly hot and oh so good! A true must read from these two amazing authors. I loved this collaboration you can't tell who is writing! So so good
