Cancelled Flights & Christmas Magic Penelope Gibbs was supposed to spend her holidays eating pizza with her family while wearing matching PJs. Instead, she's stuck in an airport during a white-out blizzard with a bunch of strangers. Just when she thinks it can't get worse, she catches a glimpse of the hot chick next to her swiping left on HER dating profile. Merry Christmas, indeed. Blake Larsen hasn't been home in three years, and she'd planned to keep it that way. But familial guilt was no joke, which is how she ended up stranded here, surrounded by cranky travelers trying to get home for Christmas. Didn't they know being home for the holidays was overrated? As the blizzard rages on, it's clear that no one is flying anywhere. While people around them hurry to book every available hotel, motel, no-tell in the area, Penelope and Blake decided to hunker down in the airport. With only each other for company, they let down their guards and discover something simmering between them that neither expected. But is it simply the magic of Christmas, or is it something more?
Meika Usher is a sucker for an HEA. She writes love stories laced with snark, sex, and swears. When she's not writing, she loves to travel (Amsterdam is her favorite city), scream-sing Taylor Swift in her car (All Too Well, anyone?), and get tattoos (a dozen and counting). She lives in Michigan with her two snooty cats and one scrappy little dog. Oh, and a never-ending pile of romance novels she swears she's going to read…someday.
This was such a sweet and funny holiday novella! I especially loved the premise of being stuck in the airport during a snowstorm, the banter, and Penelope's hilarious relationship with her best friend back home. And the Die Hard references :)
A cute christmas/winter read but the insta love was a bit too fast for me. Would have loved if the book continued after christmas and they would get to know each other more. But I would still recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fast christmas read.
