i've got a few more books in this collection to read, but i read the first and felt the need to review. not my first read by Alexis, that i have read from her. i enjoy her writing style. i often wonder as well ... does the author tend for these passages to be funny (like you wish the author, would kind of give you a backstory, how they intended the book to be, or what kind of feels they might have had when the wrote it. does that make sense?? i think so) ...not gonna write what i mean ...you read it to find out ...but i think all readers might connect with books in a different way ... i am sure you get my meaning ...like if you might have a similar love interest in your real life, similar life job, or whatever ...u might think oh that is like so n so. u know??! you as the reader might have a totally different feeling when you read a book ...kind of a "choose your own adventure" ... like when a man say ''girl" (like where did it start??? what gooberhead made it so?? i have been watching the new Games of Thrones, what is it something about a Dragon?? are you watching?? so good so far, hooked. i didn't start the GOT like most, i was more later to the show, but this one i am there from the beginning!!! ...any who ...point is ...we are talking "virtues" (you can search for the definition and so on) ...why does a WOMEN have to do this or that? why is it any different for a MAN. i am so about that, women having whatever they so see fit. i know my Christian beliefs? i am not not gonna go there. if u have that in your life that is find, not my point to judge. but for me personally ...i recall a lady buying a funeral arrangement, i worked at a florist at the time ...saying she, i know this young lady was in her middle school age range, so sad, heartbreaking, i do believe it was a vehicle accident, "she went to her grave with her virtues", #1 ...why are you telling a perfectly good, stranger about this girl's situation. not my business. #2. that's great if the girl so wished it to be the case. #3 why is that any of that ladies' business who is buying the said arrangement of flowers?? seriously??! i am really?? it was in the early 2000's this is not the "dark ages", why are we even speaking of a "girl's virtue", what the hell?? are you not disrespecting her, by speaking of the dead, i think that is the saying?? why not praise her for her intelligences, her amazing, smile, her determination, her amazing fashion style, her wanting to be a teacher, a doctor, a nurse, whatever profession she wished to be, she was amazing daughter, sister, whatever??? as an adult or later yrs. i am 44 now then ...gosh i was early 20's ... i think to myself, DAMN, what the heck??? ...why didn't i say something. first off i was so thrown back by the comments. girl/guy you do your own thing ...your life, your business. WOW!! like would you seriously say the same thing about a man? hell no. i mean he is just sowing his seed ...nope you would be patting him on his back, give him all the praise, go dude!! you rock it!! right?? the DOUBLE STANDARDS of the world?? frustrating. not cool. sad face.) ...because u have dealt with that not kind term within your own life ...you dislike it in books ...but to another lady ("girl" or "dear") is not a term taken un politely or whatnot?? u get my point? sorry off on the "soap box" there ...back now. any who ...i am enjoy this collection. KU. check it out.
This was my first try with this author and will most likely be my last. I did not finish this box set, leaving the 4th book unread. *SPOILERS AHEAD*
I would give the first book in the series around 3 stars, it was a cute love story. It wasn't very steamy, in my opinion, and I thought the "danger" was not well conveyed or developed, and the end / resolution of their conflict was rushed and unsatisfying. Just an overall okay book.
Book #2 was off too a good start and seemed promising. I enjoyed it up to where all the conflict in the relationship started. It seemed unnecessary and ridiculous to have a fake girlfriend to keep the h away, and the danger again seemed undeveloped, but I felt for her and her broken heart. The same resolution as the previous book - apparently just stay apart for a period of time and magically all is forgiven. Very unsatisfying and not believable in the slightest. I would give it 2.5 to 3 starts as well.
Book #3 was not for me. It probably isn't great to read these in a row because they follow the exact same plot. The same spicy scenes (using that loosely, would rate 3 out of 5 peppers) that were so repetitive I skimmed a lot in this book, the same conflict, and same completely unsatisfying resolution. Where apparently just staying away will magically resolve anyone's problems. My main issue though is that both the H and the h sleep with other people in this book. It wasn't a flash back or a long period of time before they are together, it was just oh you sleep with them but think you really love each other one month later?? That is a huge turnoff for me, regardless of the HEA. I'd rate this book 1 Star.
Where to start ...The South side boys are all kinds of hot ,Jaxson,Kalum, Maverick and Ben ,think I fell in lust with them all and still can't quite decide who's my favourite..when you have Strong men it takes a great woman to bring them to their knees and the Women in this are just that , every one needs a group of girlfriends like these, Annabelle , Tori, Scarlett and Amanda are Strong, sweet and funny and all face their own story to find love. The individual stories are great and I love the friendships and support all the characters show one another whilst finding their own hea. Relly good lol bits and I'll admit to needing tissues too.
A bad boy collection that you will get lost in. The characters are so easy to fall in love with but that's not to say some times you wanted to smack some of them. Childhood friends from the bad side of town find the one thing that will make them whole. That is if they can rid themselves from the past that is now in the present. Alexis has given us stories that are full of drama and suspense, lies and deceit, pain and sadness yet at the same time fun and romance. These sexy bad boys will have you wanting more.
I chose this rating because this was a really great series. I enjoyed most all of the characters. Every character brought something to there story, whether it was attitude, kindness, compassion or determination. I think the author did an amazing job with this series. I believe I will read some more of her work. I recommend this series to all romance readers.
This was a good series. I like the authors writing style. Very easy to follow. The book’s timelines line up correctly. Only gave 4 stars cause I was looking for a little more spice. More of a contemporary series.
How can you NOT love this series?!?! This is one of those series that will hit all your feels and leave an everlasting impression on you. This is one of my all time favorite series. 🖤🔥🖤
