I feel like I just picked this book up and I’ve finished it already. Like… where did time go? I finished it all in the blink of an eye, like, this never happened before. And I’m pretty sure it’s a testament of how good this series is. Just wow!! I started this book by hating Ashley, but rn I don’t hate her anymore, but i still dislike her lol But at least Mariana and Jude end up together 🥰 that’s all I’ve ever wanted 🙌🏻 but omg I need a third book!! I need to know who the organization doing this is and why they are doing this? I mean, besides the obvious, but why did they remove the shapeshifter dna thing and replaced it with reading minds? And why did they give that power to Mariana as well? And why can’t Ashley read their minds when she was also injected with something? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!! But if there’s not a third book, I’m still happy with this ending. Jude and Mariana deserve each other and I’m so happy they are happy 🥰 100% recommend this amazing and mind-blowing series

Whoa!! What a wild ride! This beauty was on my TBR shelves! Detective Ashley Tate is put in the middle of strange circumstances. First because of her relationship with Coco, a criminal mastermind, but also her friend Judes'new power.
Jude can shape shift into other people, in doing so, she gets to know Mariana (Coco's wife). This is a fantastic syfy story because I icould see it happen in the future .
There is a love story with in this and it is HOT! 5 stars!

I have the biggest cold ever, and my concentration is not at its best, but I still couldn't put this book down. It's so fast paced, full of action and I liked it even more than the first one.

I really missed reading thrillers! I have to give it to Ruby Scott and her imagination. Great plot!

I love Jude and Mariana!

I so could see this becoming a TV series. I would so binge watch it!

Now I hope there will be a third book! Maybe with Ashley redemption?

The second book in this series picks up right where the first book left off. The pedal is pushed to the floor and the action continues burning rubber and we, dear reader are hanging on for dear life. The thrill of shape shifting, trickery, bad cops, bad wives, bad guys and bad luck are written so seamless. I truly love Ruby's style. She tells a great story and leaves you panting for more. So here I am panting for the next book in the Velvet Storm Series. I recommend this series and you're welcome.

This book picks up right where the other left off. You're smackdab right in all of the action. Jude, Mariana, & Ashley all grow & deal with prior actions. This sequel gives a bit more of a background on the experiment & what transpired. There is room for another book, which I'm hoping is in the pipeline, because I so enjoyed these characters & would hate not to see them again.

4.5 stars. This series is so fucking good! I really hope that there will be more. This picks up right where the first one left off and it was action packed and intriguing from beginning to end. I liked the romance between Jude (as herself) and Mariana. Jude is hands down my favorite character of this series. My sweet little shape shifting serial killer. I love her so. Ashley really grew on me in this one. Her and Jude working together was awesome as they made a kickass team. I do feel like the ending wrapped up a bit too neatly but that’s fine because I had a blast reading these books and I would highly recommend them.

This series is absolutely fantastic!

I'm hoping that there will be more books in the series because they are brilliant. I have questions about a few things that happened, but a continuation would answer them. I highly recommend this series!

soooo much….

Better than the first book which usually is the one that grabs your attention. The first book bored me until we met Mariana, Coco’s wife. This installment picks up where the first book left off. We get to engage even more with Mariana and Ashley whom is the start of the first book. I always thought the books were about Ashley, since she was the first introduction. But it was really about Jude the whole time.

This book did not bore me at all. I wound up feeling badly for Ashely. I kept waiting for her and Jude to get together. But the love story was not about them. I was so surprised and happy about that. I’m still torn on how I feel about Ashley, but I am not with how I feel about Jude and her escapades. But all in all, I came to the realization that maybe Jude was right about Ashley all along.

When Jude goes after Mariana, I was not sure how that would play out. Mariana was introduced as this vapid and vacuous self serving woman that was married to Coco. We find out a lot more about Mariana and she is not how others have described her. Jude and Mariana are able to get to the truth of things.

I am glad that those deserving of a HEA would get one. But we’re also left with another cliffhanger. Oh gawd…

Oh, Ms. Scott! You better be working on a sequel, because I can't go on without knowing more, seeing more, witnessing more. Wow, this was a different kind of ride, that's for sure. It's still all kinds of (good) fucked up and I'm all for it. Pretty please?

Like in book #1, I don't think there was a lot of angst here. Which for me is quite unexpected, for a mystery that's almost a must, innit? But no, there's a lot of mystery and intrigue and so much more, but not A LOT of anxiety inducing moments. And I'm saying this from the perspective of someone who occasionally brave the angst world but rather run from it like people used to run from the plague.

All the characters are interesting and full of flaws and now the plot so interesting and different from what I've read the last few years, and even better it thickens now and I seriously can't let it go. hahahahha

Mind bending, heart stopping, riveting!!!

An action packed finish to the series. The journey of Jude to finding Mariana is breathtaking. Ashley finally understood Jude’s need to rid the world of evil and joined her in her efforts. These two books should have only taken me two days to finish, but I had to keep stopping to catch my breath and clear my head. I enthusiastically and unequivocally recommend this and all of this author’s works. Her style is believable and full of emotion. A very good read. I’m looking forward to reading more of her novels. Thank you Peace

what a ride!

This book was a continuation from the first book in the series
and brought some closure to the ending of that book. This one had a lot of ups and downs with evil lurching around every corner. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the author would throw the reader a curve ball and would require you to go back to square 1 and start over. Was a great read.

Intriguing

I loved book 1 better though this one has deeper emotions and even more intriguing content. But that ending points to a deeper plot given that Ashley's boss appeared and if that's gonna be left for the fan's imagination, wellm that's a little sad. But this is a very interesting and amazing plot.

A very curious tale

This is a very different type of thriller. I had no idea where it would take me, but enjoyed the ride. I’m interested to see if more is written about Jude and Ashley. The sex scenes are ***HOT*** and very well done as well.

I need more

Another great book to add to this series. The ending is a bit of a cliffhanger, though. There are some unanswered questions and I would definitely love to read more.
I'll have to follow Ruby Scott to see what else she might offer for these characters.

3.5* I was hoping for more, and didn’t really get it.

I still enjoyed the read, not too fond of the ending. If there were to be another in the series, I’d probably read it.

Great book

I love the mystery and intrigue of this book. I thought it was great how they can do a anything and get away with it. I loved how it ended, you never see it coming.

I really didn't like the ending, less she plans on writing another book! I liked both of the books that I read; they kept my attention until I was done.

Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, the plot twists again keeping me on the edge of my seat! Jude, Ashley, and Mariana draw you back into their world where they have their own demons to bear and morals to contend with. They are all fantastic characters, well rounded and dare I say likeable in a weird kind of way as you try to understand where they are coming from.
The ending I did not expect and like the previous book in the series I can see a follow up, surely Ms Scott another book in the series 😊
A keeper in my book collection.

Worse than the first one. Unexpected horror scenes involving medical procedures. Yet another cliffhanger. Will not read the third.
