Tom Angleberger artist-turned-writer. He is a columnist for the Roanoke Times in Roanoke, Virginia, and began work on his first book while in middle school. Tom is married to author-illustrator Cece Bell. He lives in Christianburg, Virginia.

First sentence: My phone rang. "Greetings," I said. "I am DJ Funkyfoot and I am at your service."

Premise/plot: DJ Funkyfoot is in between jobs when his third adventure opens. After a few false starts, DJ Funkyfoot finds himself a new employer. Great Wolfgoose Pigwig is in great need of a butler; a butler who will do anything and everything to make sure everything is done EXACTLY to his orders. Readers pick up on--or at least older adult readers will pick up on--the fact that Pigwig may not be the best boss!!!

Many misadventures follow his first day on the job...

My thoughts: I really have enjoyed this early chapter book series. DJ Funkyfoot is a great narrator. I've found the books fun, charming, enjoyable. This third book is no exception. I have not done any research, but it almost sounded like the author was concluding the series. Everything was wrapped up nicely with a bow. If so, I'm disappointed.

I do recommend the series. It's just so much fun. Ridiculous, whimsical, but super fun.

These three connected series are fantastic, with each book getting better than the last. This is the final of the DJ Funkyfoot series, and it was awesome. I read these out loud to my daughter, but she sang the wrap page when we were in the car, and it was great 😂. Everyone's favorite Chihuahua becomes the butler for the world's greatest opera star, Wolfgoose Pigwig (hilarious spoof of "Wolfgang" and "Ludwig" which I appreciated immensely. But he is a dreadful and snobby pig. Coco Dodo makes an appearance 😁

Clever entry in this series.
This time DJ is the new butler for Wolfgoose Pigwig, a renowned opera singer. Readers see mishaps galore as they head for the huge music festival. When Pigwig falls asleep on stage, DJ saves the day by creating a hip hop rap on the spot.
Angleberger knows how to offer enough craziness and fun to pull elementary level readers in and be part of the story.
