I've found the perfect home. If it wasn't for the bad-tempered Daemon next door.

Me: Witch, broke, burns stuff when excited and magic goes haywire.
Him: Daemon, my new roommate, intimidatingly hot.
Bonus feature: he hates witches.

Fine, my family had hunted his kind for centuries. But is this really a reason he has to be blackmailed into not evicting me? In terms of starting on the wrong foot, we definitely won the Olympics.

And now I'm supposed to be his fake date for a wedding? Just to get back at his ex? Granted, the plan could be less immature, but there’s a slim chance of getting on his good side for helping him out. And life really would be easier without Mr. Dark-Tall-and-Grumpy trying to atomize me with death glares all the time.

Apart from the tiny issue that I come to like those glares and things start to feel far too real.

One dance, one touch, one searing kiss.
So good.
And so, so wrong.

Because there’ s no chance in hell for a witch and a demon to end up in anything short of disaster.

No-one falls for the girl who accidentally turns you into a smoldering pile of ash.

…but maybe someone fireproof will?

This is the first book of a three book series and can be enjoyed as a standalone. HEA guaranteed.
Also included: a clumsy witch heroine, a dark and brooding hero with a culinary gift, and enough spice to set your kindle on fire.

Wow.

When I started reading this story I was expecting a lite heartwarming funny romance what I wasn't expecting was for it to be so emotionally charged. It got me in the feels. I love it when I read a book and it makes my heart pang when the charachters feel pain thats how I know the book is good
This was a beautifully written story with strong characters, a second chance at love for the main characters who have been burnt before. The pull was there from the start but the romance was slowly built and I loved that the fact that it wasn't rushed and I swear from the first pages you'll be pulled into reading and you won't stop till you finish.

Great Book-weird grammer

Not sure where the Author is from, but her weird use of grammar was very distracting. Also a lot of “missing” words in sentences-again not sure if it was intentional or typos.
Overall, loved the works building, loved the characters. Loved that Lily actually grew and matured as a character , she was so annoying in the beginning but what a turn around in the end.
Loved Claudio as well-glad he figured it out.
4 stars it’s worth the read & I hope our Author figures out her grammar for book 2.

I loved this book. 😍 The character arcs and background stories are well developed, and you get to feel the tension between those two sweethearts right from the start. I also liked the author’s voice and witty humor a lot! That made it an easy and amusing read. Five stars bc it was an exciting and well-rounded experience from start to finish. I am usually a very slow reader, but basically devoured it in no time at all. 😊

Absolutely adorable.
This is one of those books that you love to open on a cold crappy day because it actually puts on a smile on your face. Lily touched my heart because she had so many hurtles to overcome and her family is just awful. Claudio seemed to be a typical man/vampire. Always in denial.
Watching these two overcome their issues was a pleasure and just completed the overall story.
The room mates and friends were just an extra layer of icing on what is already a delicious read.
Definetley recommend!

I’m not a paranormal reader usually but I enjoyed this. It was fun and I liked that the author got right I to the story right away. The story is about Lily, who’s a witch. Gabriel, Kai and Claudio are looking for a roommate and they find Lily and like how she fits right in with them, well at least two out of three.

I had high hopes for this one. However, it just didn’t live up to expectations. The MFC is pretty pathetic - grow a vagina for fuck sake. The part that made me officially dislike the story was when, after it’s discovered that her family did HORRIBLE things to her, she just *poof* forgives them. Because ~family~. Give me a fucking break.

Also, I’m not 100% sure what the deal was, but there were numerous instances (I mean a loooooooot) of weird sentence structure/phrasing of things that didn’t really make sense and/or just not how English is written. This would normally be totally fine - nothing an editor couldn’t spruce up. However, this issue, combined with the ridiculous overuse of exclamation points and CAPITAL LETTERS, really ruined the reading experience.

Not going to read the second book in the series.

What a great debut novel!
This is a PNR, enemies to lovers and fake relationship book.
I really enjoyed reading Lily & Claudio's story.
A witch who doesn't want to follow in her family's footsteps and find her own way in life.
A deamon who still struggles after a double betrayal years later.
All the characters are very well thought out, quite quirky and extremely interesting.
It was fun reading about them and their antics!
The storyline is also well developed and the back stories make sense too and blend well with the main plot.
If you like witches, daemons , vampires and all other paranormal creature, this is for you!!

Wow! Don't let a book fool you by the cover. I went into this book thinking it was going to be a cutesy cozy read, boy was I wrong. It is anything but cozy. It is heartbreaking, intense, and steamy. It may not have the heat level of a ten, but it definitely has at least a eight.

Lily is a Witch from a very known family line of Witches. The Juniper Clan. But she wants nothing to do with her family. Trying to make it on her own after a horrible wedding disaster, she just wants to keep her head down and follow through with her plan. And at the top of the list for her plan is to find a place to live. Easy, some would say, but not easy at all. When a room comes up for rent in a nice place, it is too good to be true. That is until the third roommate vetoes it.

Claudio is half-daemon. Witches have hunted his kind for many years. Yes, they don't do that now or have done it in many, many years, but that doesn't mean he wants to room with one. Especially one like her. She is beautiful, sweet and shy. After being hurt by someone, Claudio doesn't want to open up to anyone again. But as they say...Fate has other plans.

This book was fun, yet exciting. The cover through me off and I was so glad I picked it up. I truly thought I was picking up a cozy. Since I was in a reading slump, my go to is cozies. This book surprised me in every way.

Overall this book was a very well written and intense read. It has some sensitive subject matter in it and they hit close to home. The lies and deception will throw you for a loop. How can anyone treat someone that way?? The author took her time creating a unique world of paranormal creations, that were unique and had many depths to their personalities. The story and characters will draw readers in. It drew me in and held my attention so well that I could not put it down. I devoured this book in less than a day. I cannot wait to read more in this series.

Oh I wanted to like this. The idea is good and cute. The plot is good. But the delivery... Wasn't.

The phrase 'show don't tell' ? Ye, that was not obliged. It's like the author knew the key points she wanted to hit and had no idea on how to do a 'filler'. We'd be told that something had happened, instead of being able to experience it, meaning that I could never get into it. I couldn't become the character.
And the romance? It wasn't there. The main character is an asshole, but she constantly forgave him and somehow fell for him?
She got left at the altar and one, it wasn't discussed properly and two, the MMC basically said that him pining for a (his ex) b#tch of a woman who basically led him on, is worse than that?! Insane.

The other woman in the friendship group had things going on but we never found out what. And she was clearly written as 'one of the guys' and given stereotypical 'masculine' attributes, to make sure we all knew she was only a friend (I did like her though). But the MC had stereotypical 'feminine' attributes, meaning she's the love interest. I had to check if a woman had actually written this at one point.

Ok, so the not harsh points... The plot idea was good, the MC finding her voice was needed and great and the vampire in the story was so lovable! The world building was good and the characters did feel real.

But, I struggled to finish this book.

So much potential.

So for these points, I have to sadly give this book a 2.5/5

If you like books like this though, you'll love this and should definitely read it. It's just not for me.

I wish the author well and remember, one person's option does not define your worth or how good at something you are.

Not everything is going to be for everyone, and that's fine.

This book was incredibly unsatisfying. The female main character is pathetic. Her family did something incredibly fucked up, and she just...forgave them. Her boyfriend continually refused to trust her, threw past traumas back in her face, and was hung up on his ex basically the entire book, and she also forgave him. The male main character was in no way likeable because of the above. The secondary female character randomly yelled words, I guess? Random words would just be all capitalized, I assume for emphasis, except they weren't words that would normally be emphasized. No one spoke the way anyone in real life would, or the way their character ever would. I'm willing to forgive the few weird sentence structures because English can't be the author's first language, but it made the dialogue hard to read. The Amazon page claims there's "enough spice to set your kindle on fire" but I'd give it 2/5 on the spice-o-meter at most.

The book wasn’t bad, I love the concept of the book. But the extremely slow build up and then down fall then up again and then the ending seemed a bit rushed. We were definitely put through the ringer with this one. I absolutely hate her family the only good one is the dad. I feel like a lot of it could of been cut out Or tidy up a bit, and I had a hard time with the main female character. Too much sulking and I really wish she would have more of a back bone. They say Fated mates but I just didn’t get that vibe at all with these two. But I like Kai and Gabriel so I might try the nexts books just for them.

Lots of typos and missing words in sentences. I’m wondering if the authors 1st language isn’t English, If so I would just have someone do a little better job of editing.

It was alright. The phrasing and word usage was off, as if the author wasn't quite fully comfortable with English.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I was also pretty annoyed that the main character, Lily was such a doormat the whole book and then forgave her family so easily for abusing her in such a way.

I think I would have liked to have seen Claudio resolve his past a bit more too. For the majority of the book, his past relationship haunted him to the point of it interfering with the rest of his life but miraculously, we just stopped hearing about it when he got in a fight with Lily. Yet again, no resolution. Just sprinted right past any previous hang-ups. Underwhelmed.

not expecting to like it so much!

I read a lot of fantasy, but wanted to read something light hearted and fun. This was it. It’s short and sweet and if you want a stand alone book, im guessing there’s more. Some spicy scenes in here, build up, and conflict and an actual storyline. If you’re looking for something to pass the time and enjoy, then id would definitely recommend it.
It does have a few misspellings but it’s ok.

It was an alright read. There were many spelling errors that kind of sucked me out of the story which kinda was not great.
The overall story was alright. Didn't much care for Lily's almost constant self loathing though, it was cringy for the most part.
Kinda would have loved to see Ivy's and Tristan's reaction to Claudio's newfound relationship though, felt like it would have some delicious drama.
Oh well, wasn't a bad book.

I got this book for free on a Stuff Your Kindle Day

And honestly it had a lot of potential. But I really can't get over Lily's backstory. Who the heck was her maid of honor? Like she'd have to be important to have been her maid of honor. The maid of honor was only mentioned like 3 times, and we're made to think the only people she's close to before moving was her best friend and her sister???

highly recommend- a little rom-com meets supernatural

This book was a surprising find! I really enjoyed the chemistry and the characters were fun. There was supernatural components but the main focus was on the characters and their relationships. Definitely for someone who just needs a feel good read.

Dnf'ed at 40% but skimmed through the rest because I'm too weak to acutally dnf a book.

The characters in this book where all, without any exception, annoying.
This book felt like it was written by a 12 year old, who puts as many cliché scenes together and thinks "wow, this will sound so cool" but instead everything just makes you cringe.

Fabulous and fun!
This was a terrific read! I really felt like I knew the characters and I totally wanted to move into their apartment with them! The emergency board meetings was a great touch and made me giggle. There was just the right amount of everything, including just plain FUN! It was a great read and I totally loved it! I'm moving straight on to the next book, so excited!

Overall enjoyable, there were some typos and weird grammar that took me a minute to figure out but I got this. I wish the relationship would have developed a bit more between them but 🤷‍♀️.

Also in regards to her family, like straight up would have said F**k y'all I'm out. That she forgave them is crazy to me

I loved Lily and Claudio. I really hated Lily's family and wish there was a far more...distinct resolution to that conflict.

Lily and Claudio are a perfect roommates to lovers / enemies to lovers trope. I'm excited for more books in the series to come.

I tried to finish this book, but did not care enough about the main characters to do so. Lily is just frustrating and Demon C. practices avoidance. Even jumping to the end of the book failed to jumpstart my interest.

I was so happy to read this first book! Well worth it! Following the ups and downs in the MC's relationship, and how they get to their HEA, was well written. Now to wait for the next story!!

The way this was actually a 3.6! One of the better ones recently. I think the writing was pretty good and there was a technical plot, plus it was kind of fun. I was NOT expecting the twist at the end tho and it was a trigger warning moment.

This exceeded my expectations. The world it was set in was interesting, the characters were imperfect and relatable, and it even made me tear up a bit in parts. I can’t wait to read the next one.

Cute premise

Good read but distracted by spelling errors. Heavy topic tossed in but felt her revenge was too vague. Doesn't seem to wrap up.

An emotional roller-coaster!

The story starts out slow, and picks up the pace as you go. A great read. Has violence, drama, blackmail, and some hot loving.
