Aaahhhhhh!!!! HOW CAN I WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE?!?! I just LOVE the characters and want them all to be happy and the Emperor is a HORRID little man with a complex and I DO wish the Crown Prince would just take care of the Emperor and the Empress, two more horrible characters I have yet to encounter. And wouldn’t it be grand if the two siblings got over their parent induced hatred of each other?!

5, I can’t wait to see where this all goes, stars!

Truthfully I am not sure why I enjoy both the webcomic and novel versions of this series so much, but I desperately need more.

The complicated web of “who knows what” becomes spun in an even more complex manner at the end of this one… so many misunderstandings in such a short amount of time.

One could say they gave each other a complementary effect.

I once again say, this is a “brain off, pure fun” read for me as a lot of romance light novels are. It’s cheesy and full of tropes but still like a sweet treat for me. It’s not high literature and it knows it, it’s just good fun! But it won’t be for everyone.

I’m waiting for the secrets to kind of explode soon. Max is creating a jenga tower of choices and he is going to have to be very careful with his next move if he doesn’t want to push Jubelian away forever. I still find his reactions to his first experience of love very charming and comedic though, even if sometimes I think he’s making the wrong choice by keeping so many secrets.

I do wish the Duke would be more outward in his expression of love for his daughter, Jubelian. I understand on one hand that he is protective and maybe loathe to verbalize his affection because of his age as a Transcendent, but?? Would it kill him to say “I love you,” like, once? Gonna bean this old man over the head if he doesn’t wise up.

One minor grievance I have is the sheer amount of switching between first and third person perspectives. I think it would have felt less weird if we went from Jubelian to Max’s point of view and back, but I see why the author chose this method. It lets us see into more characters than just Max and it is helpful in that regard! But a warning that it is nearly every other page in the perspective hopping.

The storyline is more or less the same as volume 1 — the crown prince hiding his identity from the oblivious Jubelian.

However, in this volume we see that the duke is warming up to their relationship. The crown prince also starts taking steps to have Jubelian see him in a better light. Although the story seems to be great for me at the beginning, the plot starts to slowly dull on me as it is painful to see the oblivious FL reacting to the ML with his two identities.

I may continue to see how the novel acts out the scene of the exposé, but not really for the rest.

It should have been annoying that Juvelian doesn't know that Max is the crown prince and that all these misunderstandings could easily be solved. But its so hilarious at how both the characters are just miscommunicating. Add on top of that Regis/Legis and his yandere dad vibes getting in between these two. Can't wait to read the next volume because if the manhwa is accurate then its gonna be a fun ride.

Love this next segment

I really do love the interactions between Jubelian and the other characters. The romance is realistic.

The only complaint is that it doesn't continue where volume 1 leaves off. It is a gap which probably means that volume 1 ending or this volume's beginning is missing chapters.

Jubellian continues to misunderstand and be misunderstood in comical and pivotal ways, but Max is finally getting his act together and trying to reform his reputation. Unfortunately his attempts look likely to backfire dangerously for them in the next volume. Can’t wait for the next book!

Get Both Vol 1 and 2

Overall this is an entertaining read where none of the characters are particularly weak or hopeless. There are some genetic tropes.
- Royalty, Interteague, Sparklingly attractive characters

this series is very much a brain off experience for me, the writing is a bit unbelievable but i'm really enjoying my time reading through the series. not something i'd usually pick up, and i wish the more tense scenes had art but it's very easy to read and imagine otherwise.

I like characters. The art is beautiful too. But sometimes the story goes gross. I don't like the way female behaves with bad characters. Maybe I should drop this manga.
