Mark E. Moore is a teaching pastor at Christ's Church of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona, one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic churches in America. Here he leverages two decades in a college classroom teaching New Testament. His goal is to make Scriptures accessible and relevant to people trying to make sense of Christianity. His two worlds of academic Bible study and practical Christian living come together in this powerful tool called Core 52.
I started reading this book when Calvary Christian Church did a sermon series based on this book. I only read the main chapters, I didn’t do the eyes, ears, heart, voice, and hands response that followed each chapter. If I had done those and worked through this book with a life group, it may have been more impactful. I appreciated Moore explaining the cultural and historical context surrounding of the Biblical passages.
I really enjoyed this book My hometown church did a sermon to go with it and luckily I could watch it online and Mark Moore preached a few times as well
Enjoyed reading this as a companion to a sermon series. It really does well at going in-depth on certain topics and has some great discussion questions.
