Dawn Casey traveled in Africa and Asia before working in a garden studio, publishing multicultural children's books. She now dreams up her own stories, inspired by the everyday magic of the world. She lives with her husband, two little ones, and a tabby cat.

What a stunning collection of tales to bring in the best storytelling season. This collection has winter stories from all around the world, and it’s filled with gorgeous illustrations. My kids especially enjoyed learning the tradition of Sylvesterclausen and Scottish folklore regarding the Cailleach.

We enjoyed every single tale. This is a beautiful collection that’s certainly a keeper. ♥️♥️♥️

Na knjizi piše 6+, a ove bajke su prilagođene za djecu 3+, jer stvarno ako su djeca 6+ došla na ovaj stadijum da je ovo za njih, onda smo baš omašili u oblasti mentalnog razvoja djece i nove generacije unazadili! 3⭐ zbog toga!

A diverse and enchanting collection of winter stories from all over the world which are set around christmas, New Year's Eve, the winter season and even seasons in general. Themes around friendship, companionship, family, nature, joy and life are all represented in the collection.

There is probably at least one story in there that you have never heard of before. I only ever read The Nutcracker and The Snow Queen prior to this collection, and while those two tales are still one of my favourites, I did discover some new great stories as well.

The beautiful illustrations on every single page also help bring the narratives come to life.

A few of these tales are meant for a very young audience which is why I could not enjoy them as much, but they were cute nonetheless.

V poslednom čase mám naozaj šťastie na nádherne ilustrované a obsahovo bohaté detské knihy. Zimné rozprávky nie sú žiadnou výnimkou, pretože očaria už úplne nádherne zdobenou obálkou.

Zima bola vždy obdobím, kedy si ľudia v teple domova krátili dlhé večere rozprávaním príbehom. Po rušných iných obdobiach je to čas na snívanie a na sviatky či tradície, ktoré ma každá kultúra na svete iné.

Zimné rozprávky je kniha, ktorá v sebe ukrýva 18 nádherne ilustrovaných zimných príbehov z celého sveta. Nájdeme tu napríklad rozprávky z Nórska, Japonska, Afriky, zo Sibira, či klasické rozprávky ako Luskacik.

Sú to rozprávky, ktoré sú v určitých kultúrach veľmi staré a ktoré nás vracajú spať v čase. V čase, keď ľudia načúvali reči zvierat, slnko a mesiac mali vlastnú reč a stromy rozprávali šumením lístia. Pripomínajú nám, že priroda je živá a mágia je všade okolo nás. Stačí mať len otvorené srdce.

Preto túto knihu odporúčam každému, kto chce aspoň na chvíľu zažiť niečo zázračné.

Met Lou ben ik, naast z'n zoals hij ze nu noemt zomersprookjes (van Biegel), nu deze wintersprookjes aan het lezen. In dit prachtig vormgegeven boek zijn achttien van de mooiste winterverhalen uit de hele wereld opgenomen – van Noord Amerika tot Siberië, China en Schotland. Lou z'n favoriet: De zwarte kleine kat. Volgens mij wordt dit wel een jaarlijkse traditie qua leesvoer. Je komt er absoluut door in de kerststemming.

Het boek is, zoals altijd van Christofoor, prachtig vormgegeven met sprookjesachtige illustraties. Prachtige verhalen die kort genoeg zijn om voor het slapengaan (voor) te lezen met illustraties waar je daarna de hele nacht van kunt dromen!

Delightful collection of short stories and folktales from around the world; it's hard to pick a favorite. It includes classics like E.T.A. Hoffmann's The Nutcracker, Hans Christian Andersen's The Snow Queen. The Mitten will remind some of Jan Brett's book for the same title or her other similar title, The Hat. Perhaps it was part of her inspiration for both stories.
This would be a wonderful family read aloud for the winter or holiday season.

Prelepo ilustrovana zbirka kratkih zimskih priča iz celog sveta, namenjena najmlađima.
Moguće da je nešto izgubljeno u prevodu, a možda su već i u originalu priče i suviše pojednostavljene - u svakom slučaju, zbirku bih preporučila sasvim maloj deci, koja tek uče da čitaju, ili kojoj bi odrasli mogli da čitaju.

Zimowy okres magii i przytulności oficjalnie kończę zbiorem baśni zimowych z różnych zakątków świata. Znajdziemy tu opowieści bardziej znane (Dziadek do orzechów, Królowa Śniegu), jak i te raczej zapomniane albo niepopularne na naszych terenach (Płaszcz dla księżyca, Rękawiczka). Historie ludowe napisane są w przystępny sposób oraz zawierają zjawiskowe ilustracje. Idealna pozycja dla tych najmłodszych, trochę starszych i dojrzałych czytelników.

Чудова збірка казок різних народів. Дуже вдала підібрані казки на зимову тематику. Окремо хочу відмітити гарний переклад і сучасний підхід до деяких казок. Читали разом з підлітками 11 та 14 років , було цікаво всім. Тому рекомендую на вік від 5+ і до 99 років

Mojou najobľúbenejšou vianočnou rozprávkou vždy bola a aj bude rozprávka o Luskáčikovi - a nájdete ju aj v tejto prenádhernej publikácii zimne ladených rozprávok pre deti. Okrem nej som tu však objavila aj rozprávky, ktoré som doteraz nepoznala, čo veľmi oceňujem. Každá z rozprávok pochádza z iného kúta sveta a ich osobité čaro podčiarkujú bohaté ilustrácie.

Knihu odporúčam malým aj veľkým. Je to poklad, ktorý bude mať navždy čestné miesto v mojej knižnici a pravidelne sa k nemu budem počas sviatkov vracať!

Україна представлена казкою "Рукавичка", де звірята гостинні, привітні до інших та щедрі. Я тільки зараз зрозуміла наскільки ця казка про толерантність до тих, хто відрізняється від тебе, та про цю українську здатність - ділитися останнім.

Дуже вдале поєднання казок, які однозначно створюють різдвяний настрій 🎄

Много красиво издание с прекрасни илюстрации и много добра селекция приказки от различни региони. Някои са ни добре познати, като "Дядовата ръкавичка" например или големи класики като "Лешникотрошачката", но имаше страхотни приказки от Шотландия, Мексико, Швейцария, Русия, Германия и т.н., които на мен лично не ми бяха познати и ми бяха много интересни. :)
