The earth quakes and the skies shiver when Chamundeswari and Vijayendran come face to face. But is everything what it appears to be on the surface? Forget being docile, the princess with a tiger for her pet, appears to be a rebel through and through. Second historical romance novel by Sundari Venkatraman, THE REBEL PRINCESS (The Princess Series #2) is a heartfelt story of a princess and prince.

Chamundeswari is a princess whose parents died in a fire in the palace when she was four years old. She was raised by her stepmother.
Vijayendran is the youngest born of Chozha Emperor whose father died. Further reading the book, we get to know how these two people come together and how they save the kingdom.

The story is set in the 11th century AD during the time of Rajaraja Chozhan and Rajendra Chozhan (the exact timeline is 1013-1027 CE). The amount of research by author shows clearly in the details of the book. We get to live the culture with dresses and food of that era, which I loved.

Chamundeswari was a brave, strong girl whom I dearly liked. She had a big heart and never was afraid to go after what she wants. I liked how she was forward with Vijayendran in their relationship. I understood her feelings and her anger, I felt emotions along with her. Her character can also be taken as symbol of strong women of that era.
No one can say she is docile what with a pet tiger. Yes, I want Manu.
Vijayendran is a handsome prince. He is witty, caring and centered. How he protects Chamundeswari and fights for her was just wonderful. Not that she couldn't fight for herself. She was a warrior too.
The only drawback was that there were numerous characters with not much character development in all.
The main focus was on Vijayendran and Chamundeswari with good developed.

I loved the drama and romance part. Whole story is one twisting tale of sorrow, treachery, revenge, love and joy.
The first meet of Vijayendran and Chamundeswari, their further meetings, them falling in love ~ it was all dreamy to read. I loved the pull and push in their story and am happy that they finally got their HEA.
Also, the fact that it's all in Indian background with royalty world made it more interesting.

The narration was simple and understandable that had alternative timelines. It was written so that it caught my imagination in the best way possible.

A beautiful story about a strong princess. The research that has gone into the book is clearly visible in the names, the attire, the food and even the mode of transport used in the book.
The characters are well developed and the suspense has been beautifully created in the book, not for us but for the other characters in the story. I loved how Manu would react to Chamundi and to the others. The supporting characters have been beautifully portrayed and have been given due representation in the book.
The language is simple and the book is well narrated. The story covers the elements of love, friendship, jealousy, loyalty and even some humour.
Loved the story and am looking forward to more such books by the author.

This is a fictional story with the influences inspired from the history of the land. The story has numerous characters as it is written as a historical fiction. Yet the story focuses on two characters mainly.
First is Chamundeswari. She is a princess but with a painful past. Her parents died in a fire in the palace when she was just four year old. Then Chamundeswari was raised by her stepmother. Her stepmother was the very next queen after the tragic death of the royals in the fire. There was a step brother of teh princess who was assigned as the chief minister by the newly crowned queen.
And the second character is the youngest one from Chozha kingdom. He is Vijayendran. He has been raised and trained by his elder brother, Rajendran. Vijayendran had lost his father too. Subsequently the responsibility of maintaining the kingdom falls on the heirs of the king. Thus he was well trained to win over the kingdoms and territories around them in order to expand their own territory.
When both the individual with such strong character come across each other, what will it lead to?
Will the princess be able to save her kingdom? Or will the skilled noble of the kingdom be able to expand his kingdom?
The narration is kept simple and easy making it a comfortable read. The language used is lucid. There are numerous characters yet the focus is given to these two characters. Each character development is well penned down by the author.
The plot has been layered beautifully and it's a well paced plot.
It was quite interesting to read.

This is my second book of Author and first read from her Historical Romance collection. Now as the title and the cover depicts it's definitely a story of Princess and a Prince.

Chamundeshwari is docile princess of A vassal kingdom. She lost her royal parents at the age of four due to palace fire. I loved how the story covers each and every detail of major events that took placd in Chamundeshwari's wife.

On the other hand, there were Rajayendra and Vijayendra who are stepbrothers and Prince of Chozha Empire.
It's a interesting story of how Chamundeshwari meets them and then begins journey of saving the Kingdom.

What I liked-
~ Firstly a very beautiful cover and well suitable title.
~ Coming to the details of everything right from names of Characters, places the narration of their clothes, food was covered so beautifully reflecting the amount of research that has gone with writing this book.
~ Each and every event was well imaginable like a movie while reading which is where I was engaged.
~ The Characters got introduced so well as the story progressed. Even the Tiger pet Manu of Chamundeshwari as a element of story stole my heart.
~ There's Love, grief, past, present and different events making this Historical Romance interesting, engaging.
~ Chamundeshwari as a Princess is brave, courageous and graceful too that feels so inspiring and what I would called a True Feminism getting reflected in a Character.

The Rebel Princess: A Historical Romance by Sundari Venkatraman.

This is a heartfelt story mainly of a princess who was raised by her step-mother and a prince whose father passed away.

Chamundeswari , the princess, and her relationship with her pet, Manu, is one the most appealing parts of this book.
Chamundeswari,in her early age, has expertised in her warrior skills.

The way author has portrayed the emotions, is very appealing.

I really liked the way the story has been written and, this is my second read from the author, and I am just in love with her works.

An excellent historical read

I have always been a fan of the author specially the way she writes historical stories, and this one is an excellent example the same.

The rebel princess is an amazing story of a brave princess with a cute little pet 🐅 tiger called manu and a horse called rahu. She is 17 but an excellent warrior.
Adityan is a passionate, brave and intelligent prince with handsome features.
He decides to protect the princess from his own evil family.
How he succeeds in doing the same is something to read n enjoy.
I loved the story to the core. It's full of emotions, romance, drama, betrayal and revenge.
Do read it guys you will definitely gonna like it.

Fascinating read

The book all set in 11th century AD & revolved around two main protagonist Chamundeswari & Vijayendran.
.
Chamundeswari, a brave strong girl who is the queen of her emperor but had a doleful past. When she was only 4 years old , she lost her parents in a fire in the royal palace. After the demise of her parents she was brought up by her step mother. She has an own tiger named as Manu who is her bodyguard too & the bond between them is wonderfully portrayed in this book.
.
Vijayendran, a smart good-looking witty & youngest prince of Chozha kingdom. He also had an sorrowful past like Chamundeswari who lost his parents at a very young age. But his brother is his companion who taught him everything which are needed to become a king.
.
Two headstrong leaders who can do anything to save their kingdom it's pride & it's glory when encountered with each other what will happen?
.
To know more about it grab the book & give it a try.
🙂 The cover of the book is beautifully designed with a light orange colour shade unique colour that grasp the attention of your eyes.
🙂 The storyline is well blended with historical fiction , war backdrop , romance , drama , tragedy and many more.
🙂The writing style is engrossing. Author tried to put forward each n every emotions such a manner that readers will feel connected to the storyline. Sometimes you feel the book is boring but in the next moment it will took an interesting turn that lift your reading experience into a next level.
🙂 Language used in the book is good crisp easily understandable. Language is the medium in the book to connect the hearts of readers through the plot line.
🙂 The characters of Vijayendran & Chamundeswari are well developed with their past life too. But other characters are came into the storyline out of nowhere & go out like that without touching any kind of finishing line.
🙂 The narration of the book is engaging.
🙂 Slowly paced book.

A Subtle Historical Romance

This was my first time reading Sundari Venkatraman and I really liked her way of storytelling. So subtle, yet so crisp. The story is about the romance between Chamundeshwari and Vijayendran. The princess is just 17 years old but an excellent warrior. I think the author has hinted about her warrior skills in her name only which corresponds with a Indian Goddess. The Princess also has a pet tiger called Manu and the relation of her and Manu is one of the most appealing concepts in the story. It makes me wanting a Manu for myself.
The character development was very good and the author has given ample amount of time in the development of Chamundeshwari and Vijayendran including their past stories; but other characters are not very well developed and it sometimes makes their appearance out of the blue. I really liked how the emotions are being portrayed, especially the romance and drama between the two main protagonist. One other emotion which I particularly liked in this was Tragedy. The description of the tragic life of the princess makes you feel her pain. The second part of the book which reveals all the mysteries and twists is also appealing to the readers. I disliked the thing that the mystery was not very well shrouded and it becomes obvious at some points
The language used by the author is very lucid and simple. This is definitely one of the best pros for this book. The simple and yet vividly written story tends to grab attention of every reader. I would love to read more books of Sundari Mam and it was a very good read.

I know it takes time, patience and lot of dedication to read a Historic Fiction because you are reading something from a different era. But this book was so interesting and most importantly so well written that it was worth all the time.

Set in the era of Kings and Queens in South India, this book will take you back in time, to the 11th Century A.D

The main protagonist of the book is Princess Chamundeswari - she is the rebel princess in the book. The book is about her bravery, strength, ideas and also her love. The way she rebelled and tried to save her kingdom is something that will make you fall in love with this book. She is always accompanied by her two pets Manu and Rahu and it is so great to read that a tiger and a horse became friends in the book. ( Because their dedication for the Princess was divine).
The book also has another main protogonist the prince with whom Chamundeswari falls in love with.
And both the characters are very strongly built , so it is always great to read when they are in the same plot or page.

The writing is easy to understand and I absolutely loved the narration of the book.
Yes, it is a little time consuming because there are lots of character and you can't skip the chapters, but still it felt great to read this book.

The Rebel Princess: A Historical Romance (The Princess Series Book 2) is a magnificent book written by Sundari Venkataraman.
Basically it is a heart touching story of a prince and a princess. Chamundeshwari was a princess who lost her mother and father in a fire in the palace when she was barely 4 years old. She was raised by her stepmother. Chamundeshwari also had a pet tiger namely, Manu who was also her bodyguard. The other protagonist of the story is, Prince Vijayendran. He was the youngest born of the Chozha Emperor. Vijayendran was a wity and caring prince. Chamundeshwari was also a very strong and brave girl. The story is all set in the Eleventh Century(1013-1027 CE, to be more precise). Now to know how Prince Vijayendran and Princess Chamundeshwari meet and would Princess Chamundeshwari be able to take revenge and save her precious kingdom or not, you should definitely read this book.
Overall, it is a very nice book which has elements of love, relationship and patriotism. I would like to appreciate author's efforts for researching well and penning this book down. I would recommend it to all those who love reading books in historical romance genre.

The Rebel Princess is written by the author Sundari Venkatraman. It is a historical romance fiction. A wonderful story with the excellent plot. Characters makes the story more beautiful and perfect.

The story revolves around Princess Chamundeswari and Prince Vijayendran. Princess Chamundeswari who is 17-years-old and brave warrior. She lost her family in the fire, so she was grown up by the stepmother.

Similarly Prince Vijayendran lost his father and raised by step elder brother. He was the younger one of the Chozhan kingdom. Princess has a pet tiger named Manu and horse named Rahu which makes the story more interesting. What happened? Why the Princess was in the danger? Who protects her? When both Princess and Prince meet? Just grab the book.

Narration is really good and valuable. Author predicts the excellent story. She should be appreciated for this mesmerizing work, good research and the story-telling style is awesome. I just loved this book.

Language is lucid. Cover of the book catch my eyes. Title of the book is exactly apt. I would like to suggest this book for historical lovers. Go ahead. Happy reading...

The Rebel Princess (The Princess Series #2)

The author has delivered this masterpiece that would make you imbibe fantasy, and encompass it within yourself on pretext of today's relevance as something imaginative yet real, mysterious and shimmery, and yet so well narrated. ⁣

The writing style can be fantasized as the vast world waiting for the protagonist Chamundeswari to be explored and felt making the book as sparkling as the spatial dust giving an exemplary show.

The plot is a heartwarming tale of love, resilience and acceptance. The journey all throughout the book in respect of relationships with others is found to be an exciting adventure and would never disappoint with the fall of disengagement.

In the first half, the plot involves the relationship wth an extent of understanding and patience. The second half of the book creates a vivid sense of mystery.

Apart from a few concentration blocks here and there, the book is a recommended read and the readers would be left waiting for more in the upcoming works of the author!❤️⁣

Book cover and title: Perfect cover with good title.

Theme: The story is actually the second book of a series. But it can be read as a standalone story also.

The story follows the life of Chamundeswari and Vijendra. Neither of them have fathers. The princess grows up with her step mother, the queen while Vijendra looks up to his brother. These two form the main characters and the plot proceeds through their characters.

Writing style: The dedication to Chandilyan at the start was so good. Even I love all his books.

The introduction was very good. The background of both the protagonists, their lifestyle was explained very well. But the story had more characters which were pretty confusing. Also they didn't have any major significance in the story.

One part which I personally liked was the use of tamil words here and there. My native language being tamil, those parts had a very good connect. The 'pet' animals Manu and Rahu felt so sweet.

On the whole, a gripping historic read!

Sundari Venkatraman brings readers the second installment of the Princess series. This is another gem of the Author’s historical series.

This is a beautiful story of two brave characters. Princess Chamundeswari is raised by her stepmom after losing her parents in a fire, and Vijayendran the younger one of Chozha kingdom who lost his father and raised by his step elder brother. Both have painful past but raised with a warrior soul. What will happen when both strong characters cross each other path?

Oh man, how can I forget to mention the pet of princess cute tiger Manu and a horse Rahu! I love how beautifully the animal love author narrates.

I would love to appreciate the author for her detailed research on RajaRaja Chozhan and Rajendra Chozhan era. The culture of that era is described in detail by the author. Chamndeswari's character is crafted very strongly by the author. the writing style is simple with alternative timeline narration.
Overall, this is a perfect story of love, revenge, and joy with full drama in Indian royalty in the background.

The story is set in the 11th century AD during the time of Rajaraja Chozhan and Rajendra Chozhan and the exact timeline is 1013-1027 CE. The emperor and empress of Chozha Nadu, existed in reality, the incidents where they appear in my story are fully from my imagination; NOTHING is based on real incidents.
"She touched her husband’s shoulder before pointing her chin behind him. “Swami, there is someone coming. She is riding a white horse and seems to be in a tearing hurry. Should we…”
Like this, narration goes simple and will cultivate to read this whole novel. I appreciate author's mind to research and real characters into fiction.

The story was a stirring of rebellion in her mind and fire in her eyes. The protagonist is potrayed with such a powerful enigma its ornated with a mind blowing narrations.
I have read Sundari's some books but this was the true Masterpiece. The blend of history and fiction has done a quite interesting work in the novel.

A princess with strong morals! Princes with great values! Who will be the best and when two people with great nature meet at the battlefield what will happen?

A historical fiction book revolves around Chamundeswari, a princess but with a painful past and Vijayendran the youngest brother of Rajendran- Chozha kingdom. Chamundeswari lost her parents at a very young age and she was brought up by her stepfather and stepmother. Both stepfather and mother were very next in line of becoming King and Queen. With many twists and turns Chamundeswari’s and Vijayendran’s life path crosses at one point to save their kingdom and what happens is well narrated with a gripping storyline.

The Rebel Princess by Sundari Venkatraman portrays women’s strength and well narrated the culture, delict and traditions of the era. Language is simple, and even though with twists, it didn’t make readers find it difficult while reading. Every scene was continuous and the narrator has very well carried the plot.

This book is second book in the Princess series by Sundari Venkatraman. The book is contemparary fiction with historical touch.
The book and story is beautiful in every sense and it revolves around two brave characters. Princess Chamundeswari who is raised by her step mother when she lost her parents in fire, and Vijayendran the younger one of Chozha kingdom who is raised by his step elder brother after he lost his father.
Read the story to find what will happen when they will cross paths and what will happen next.
The things which i loved the most was the beautiful narration of animal love.
I must say that the author had researched well for this book and has done a commendable job.
The characters are nicely penned and language is advanced and brilliant. However the things which could have been are the storyline which was proper but lacked perfection. The cover is bit boring with brown shade so it could be improved.
Overall, a perfect read.

The story is based from an era of timeline of 1013 CE from time of Rajaraja Chozhan and Rajendra Chozhan. The story is about Princess Chamundeshwari, who becomes an orphan at the age of 4 finds multiple enemies in her palace, her loyal servent has found someone who can protect the princess, who is he and what is his motive, is what is covered in the book.

I have read multiple books from the author and have enjoyed reading each book with a different kind of zeal, each different from one another. I would say, I was kind of sceptical when I brought the book, but once I was done with first two pages I was hooked. The romance, the history all different yet intriguing.

Overall if you are a die hard fan of Romance and enjoy history, do give the book a try

Chamundeswari lost her parents in a fire accident, due to which she was raised by her stepmother. Being a princess who lives in pain , she meets Vijayendran, prince of the Chola Kingdom. Vijayendran lost his father and was getting trained for his duties. What happens when both of them meet is the rest of the story ! Gives Disney Alaadin vibes when the heroine comes with her pet tiger ❤️
The writing style is perfect and the characters are huge in number. The central characters play their role perfectly. It honestly is a proper story with historical details. The theme of love, vengeance, revenge and pain echoes around the entire story. Recommended to those who wish to read a historical romance.

After having read all books published by Sundari Venkatraman I feel that it will be difficult for the authour to excel an already excelent work. But be surprised because The Rebel Princess reached a new high in her carreer. It is clear that to write this historical romance needed an enormous amount of research and I feel that just to write the so long and difficult character names was a real task. But Sundari Venkatraman can do this and a lot more and we have another breathtaking and spellbinding romance filled with History and beautifully described characters including a most fascinating tiger pet. Do not miss another chart buster by this fisrt class author.

Such a good read

Must say that the book is way ahead than the first book in the series in terms of the fact mentioned and the writing style. And the length of the book was a surprise as the author usually restricts all her books to below 200 pages..Having said that I am not complaining as it was a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience😊👏👏

Princess with a big cat 😈

I had high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint. Yet another fabulous work by Sundari Mam.
You go through an array of emotions along with Princess Chamundeshwari. Prince Vijayendran is like a pillar of support from the moment they meet.
Their journey of falling in love, saving the Kingdom, trusting each other, understanding makes you enthralled.
Yet again, the research done of the 11th century shows in the detailed description done through out the book.
Manu was one of my favourite character. Obviously only the Rebel Princess has a big cat for a pet.
Loved the book and cannot wait to read more of Historic Romance Fiction by the author 😁.

This is Sundari Venkatraman's second historical romance.

I loved the smooth flow of the narrative. The author alternates between the present and the events of the past effortlessly.

The story with all its intrigues and twists makes for an interesting read. The play between the characters binds it into a well knit plot that is thoroughly riveting.

One of the best historical fiction read in recent times. The best part of Sundari’s books is that she has a very strong female patron gist. The title apts matches the story and gives the readers a gist of what to expect with a super crisp blurb.

Princess Chamundeswari has a tough time and a painful past which has made her strong yet vulnerable. Losing her parents at a young age to the planning and plotting of her step mother who has always desired to become a queen she is a tough lady although she has a soft corner for the princess. The queen has her encore which helps her carry her plotting and her step son is the new chief minister. Now how does the princess save her kingdom and get it back?

Prince Vijendran is the younger brother of Rajendran who is his mentor, and has raised and trained him to handle and takeover kingdoms around theirs for their expansions and strength. Having lost his father, he too has gone the same situations in life. However, with his brother around he is fast learning the ropes of running the kingdom.

What happens when the two headstrong characters come face to face? She has to save her kingdom and she needs help from the stronger ones. Will they have a happily ever after? Read the book to find out.

Well researched backgrounds, set in an era about which there are no much reference points the author has done a great job writing about them. Although there are many characters, they all have a role to play and justified in their presence. However, the focus on the leads and development of their stories in spite of so many parallel stories, characters is commendable.
