Once she entered her teens, Sundari switched her loyalties from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to local heroes and heroines. And of course, the joy of vanquishing the ubiquitous evil villains! Her imagination soared and she happily ensconced herself in a rosy romantic cocoon for many years.
Then came the writing—a true bolt from the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

This is a beautiful story where protagonists are successful in their professional realms but broken in personal lives. This brokenness eventually leads them to cross each other's lives and ultimately they mend their broken hearts and compliment each other.
❤️
Married at a very young age ( by her choice), and being a divorce lawyer herself Deepshikha had never thought of a divorce even though she knew that she was being cheated the reasin being how children would cope with the notion of broken family. But her tolerance was over now.Karan is an IT professional but things didn't worked between him and his wife. Even though he was gem of a person, loyal and caring husband, his wife left him with his daughter without giving any reason. It was because of his divorce Deepshikha and Karan met.Now everybody can guess what would have happened next.
But why Karan's wife left him?
I found this part of the story most striking one where author has tried to address a very important aspect of life and society.
❤️
This is the second book I m reading from author and I m really impressed by her writing style now.Although the plot is simple and straight but the characters --- they make the story so enthralling to read.I am in love with all the male characters -- Karan for of his maturity, sensibility, loyalty, understanding and the way he reacted after knowing his wife's truth ; Darsh and Gulshan for the way they tackled Deepshikha 's divorce and family. The cover is very appropriate and title is well justified with the storyline. It also has some steamy scenes which I didn't expected. But overall I loved the chemistry and the way Deepshikha and Karan complimented each other.
❤️
This book highlights homosexuality, institution of marriage and divorce and aftermath of divorce for children.
❤️
Overall it was engaging! I finished it in one sitting.

A well written story about two unhappy people finding love. I liked Karan for his kind heartedness. Although I felt that he was too quick to forgive his ex wife for the lost years of his youth. But that's why he was the best character I guess, displaying great maturity in his thinking. Deepshika was strong and graceful and a perfect match for Karan. Great cover too! Anyone who loves second chance romances would love this one.

Having read many of this writer's works, I anticipated yet another social issue to be tackled. This time it was infidelity and the stigma around being gay. One cannot think of a better way to incorporate such serious issues in a easy manner while entertaining the readers.

With well crafted characters and a good plot, the story was delight to curl up with on a rainy day. My only minor peeve point is with regards to the plot - Turned out to be a little predictable.

Sundari draws a family picture. The characters are so real that it's like you have met them in your life. A second chance romance of two adults who carry the baggage of past responsibilities. The protags Deepshika and Karan and sketched so beautifully. With all their flaws, fears, and strengths. Coming to the negative characters, (I should call them humans. Not negative perse) Mahesh and Dhwani, I was amazed the way the author had gone deep into their skin to bring out that anger in me when I read about them. Mahesh is what we call a typical male. Entitled. But the way Deepshika's father handled it - I was in love with the father. (don't smirk, it happens). To be ferociously protective without thinking of the rights and wrong. That's a father to me. Overall, loved the romance, the chemistry is awesome and the story is fast-paced. I would call it 'unputdownable".

Do you believe in second chances in life ?

ONCE BITTEN TWICE LUCKY ~ SUNDARI VENKATRAMAN

This is an intresting story of life giving second chances . Two stories have been written about and later on in the book it fits as a perfect jigsaw block when two divorced couple find their way towards happiness .

Deepshikha is a divorce lawyer and her own marriage seems to fall apart when her husband Mahesh destroys their 17 years of marriage and it ends up in a messy divorce . Karan on the other side stands at the difficult position of divorce when his childhood sweetheart Dhwani decides to leave him suddenly and also asks for alimony . The story begins when divorce stuck karan meets divorce lawyer deepshikha . Read more to find out !

The book is highly predictable but the plot keeps you sticked to the book . The issue that has been brought up apart from second chances are how a family is effect because of divorce , how the children are affect with no fault of their own . The convincing part of children is what i enjoyed the most . The book is fast paced and you wont even know when it came to an end .
Would recommend to give this book a try !

This was my first read by Sundari Venkatraman and I appreciate her views. This is one such dilemmatic stories where moving slightly away from the said route of stereotypical society leads you to destruction. This book starts with two married couples at the verge of divorce due to their respective issues. The plot takes a turn when Deepshikha, a divorced divorce lawyer, fell in love with Karan. Both betrayed by their partners found solace in each other's company. The issue now, is their children. Will they accept their relationship? How do they deal with the society?

I liked the idea of this story. It is not a completely unique plot but narration makes it different. Mixture of love, losses, betrayals, hatred, etc, a plot set in the Indian background is a complete coffee table read. This is one such stories that makes you dwell upon different closure and you are never too satisfied with the actual closure. But every readers will enjoy it. The characters of Deepshikha's children is fascinating.

Cover is okayish. I loved the narration. Language is simple. Plus the story line doesn't distracts you from the matter, and it makes reading easy. Title increases curiosity.

This plot is a reflection of the new society that is evolving around us. Now a days relationships aren't considered as an important factor in one's life but the value of happiness and self satisfaction has risen up to a level where relationships if not am important thing in a person's life.
The book has two plots going parallelly in the book, in one Deepshikha us our protagonist. She has been married for 17 years and have 2 kids yet she isn't happy with her marriage. She's a divorce lawyer. In her workplace if she can advise anyone to look after their own happiness then why can't she look for herself? So she finally calls off her marriage.
In the second story, Karan is our protagonist. He is rich and well established businessman. He has married his childhood love but suddenly things werent good between them and they had to call off their marriage. They had a daughter.
While both the stories are going parallelly, they meet eachother at the point when Karan meets Deepshikha. Both the characters went through same phase of life, will they be eachother's safe zone? Or will they be stranger like always?
The narration is kept simple and easy making it a good read. The language used is lucid. The characters are well penned down by the author. Plus the character development and the emotions going on throughout the book are well potraited. In all it was an enjoyable read.

What will you do if life gave you a 2nd chance after divorce?

How you will make use of the 2nd chance!

Once Bitten Twice Lucky by Sundari Venkatraman is a story of Karan and Deepshikha,

Deepshikha abound lawyer and vibrant character who was always loved by many, a great mother and a brave daughter, but her husband Mahesh who takes all his life for granted even tends to destroy his 17 years of marriage life which resulted in a messy divorce.

Karan, a Rich, innocent, talented businessman who was married to his childhood beau Dhwani, but she leaves him all of a sudden.

Deepshikha with 2 children and Karan with one daughter has left abruptly in their lives. Karan meets Deepshikha as his lawyer for his divorce filing process and day by day their friendship develops.

Curious to know what happens next read the book to know more. The characters are realistic and had many elements which were practical. A romantic roller coaster ride that had simple language and apt use of characters. The conversations and the small talks shared between Deepshikha and Karan were the key moments that kindled the romance between them and it kept the readers on the hook to know what happens next.

I loved the way in which Karan’s character is portrayed in the play and he is kind of an ideal boyfriend which everyone has fantasized about. A great book for all readers and surely a good book for readers who are looking for a different read.

A love story with a twist .
Deepshikha and karans love story , no different then others yet special .
Author has done a great job whirling two stories of two different people combine in one. deepshikha dumping her husband after finding out about his multi affair's , when Karan gets dumped by his wife without any prior notice.they met at a club , one single galnce nd their world comes to an ubruput hault...
Deepshikha being a mother of two and Karan being father of one , thinking of their children's benifits will they come together because of them?
Will their respective children's accept other people in place of their parents?
Deepshikha being able to cope up with one failed marriage will she remarriage after sworing off the love?
You can't put the book down without completing it ... Language is lucid and vocabulary is evolved .
Book cover Could have been better ..
Why people always blame people for fallen marriages , especially women?
Can't a person grow out of love ? Can't the situation be like that to let them go their separate ways? Why keep a person with you just because of society , can't any one be happy with just themselves ..
Let the story of deepshikha and Karan take you on a 🌀🌪️...

Once bitten twice lucky book by Sundari venkataraman highlights the relationship prevalent in the present day scenario. The book also deals with how our society has transformed thereby potraiting the new set of society wherein individuals focus more on their career/profession and less on their happiness/ personal life etc.

This story has a double plot and gets entangled into a single plot when the two protagonist Deepshika and Karan stumble with each other. Deepshika, a divorce lawyer and married for 17 years with 2 kids and a cheating husband. Karan, a business man has one daughter and a wife who just left him and her kid without giving them any reasons. When Deepshika and Karan stumble with each other, the remarkable journey of their love and chemistry starts to bloom giving them a second chance to lead their life. Will their once bitten life get lucky?!

What i loved the most about this book is that it written in a realistic way not over cheesy or dramatic. The book is excellent and so well written. It's simple and easy to read. Everyone must and should read this super story. The book is fast paced and very intriguing too.

It's a story of two unhappy married couples...who after draging much to make their black and white life colourful finally took the decision to get divorce. In our society people still offers owe to a divorcee specially in case of woman but here the author portrayed the lady who is a lawyer herself as the most independent, intelligent one.

The other character dhwani took much time to realise what she really wants from a married life but after realising such she finally made herself stronger to stick to it..her unsaid words to her husband made him spellbound but being a loving and realistic one he finally values her decision and moved ahead with his life.

The author tries to portray the scenario how the children's mindset got affected by hearing even the divorce word from their parents, their innocence to accept the bitter fact and such.

It's a mixture of emotions, love, betrayal, fear to commit again after receiving too many heavy wounds from the dearest ones. Engaging plot.

She had discovered her leanings right at the beginning. But then, what's the use of dwelling in the past?

Obviously, these line leaves the reader to swing without any clue about Deepshika.
Did she find a guy who truly loved her?
Did her independent nature has valued by the one who loves her?
Let's find the luck....

TITLE: Once Bitten Twice Lucky
AUTHOR: Sundari Venkatraman

ONE LINE THEME: Since we can't go back to the past and change things, let's work on the future.

The title of the book and the cover page is demonstrating the storyline barely. This novel is about the story of two wandering souls, which is carving for true love and don't want to relinquish their responsibilities. Did they stabilize between true love and responsibilities by replenishing their new life is the charming love story.

The story frame is quietly unique. Deepshika, who has divorced her womaniser husband and the mother of 16 years old boy Darsh and 13 years old girl Myra, has wanted to be independent. But she is sensitive about her children, who are going to miss their fatherhood in their life. Karan, who has been left by her wife without any fault on him and is keen to know the answer and the father of 13 years old girl Krutika, has to approach the lawyer Deepshika. Magnetically both of them has enticed and fallen in love and are very respectable on each other responsibilities.

Did Karan find the real reason for his wife's strange revulsion and divorce?
Did the three kids were sustained their parent's separation?
Did Karan and Deepshika commit each other?
How did the children accept their parent's decision?
Did they intensify their love without forfeiting their responsibilities together?
Is a moving story.

I have been impressed by the rational writing style of the author. It gives more entangled thoughts to the readers to be hooked with the story. The characters are well developed. Deepshika and Karan as respective parents, Darsh, Myra and Krutika as mature kids. Gulshan is a protective and steady man.

The twist and turn in this sensible story give crisp to read.

The characteristic of empathy and reverence of the main characters are admirable.

My Ratings: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

'Once Bitten Twice Lucky' is a standalone novel by one of my favourite authors Sundari Venkatraman. This was a beautiful, lovely, mature and a different love story ❤

It is the story about Karan and Deepshikha. Deepshikha has just divorced her womanising husband of sixteen years and is finally feeling free. Karan's fourteen year long suffering marriage comes to an end when his wife ups one fine day and leaves him.

They both have teenage kids from their failed marriages whom they love to bits. They are both well settled professionally. Deepshikha is an established divorce lawyer and Karan has his own succesful IT business.

The first time Karan sees Deepshikha dancing at a club, he falls for her hard and even Deepshikha felt a strong pull towards him. Then destiny plays its hand, and Karan discovers that his divorce lawyer is none other than the beautiful Deepshikha. They meet in her office and sparks fly.

What happens next ? Do they give in to this insane attraction? Will they fall in love with each other, after their long suffering failed marriages? Will they be able to forget their past and commit to each other? How will their kids react? Will they accept them as their new Mom and Dad ? Read the book to find out 😍

The plot was very well developed. It was a light read and I finished reading it one go. The narration was really smooth. It was a fast paced story with the right amount of surprising turns, and at no point I felt that the story was lagging anywhere. It kept me hooked till the end 😍

I loved all the characters, Karan, Deepshikha, Darsh, Krutika, Myra and Gulshan. I especially loved the handsome, charismatic and patient Karan. And I am really looking forward to read Darsh's story in the future when he grows up. I really loved this wise teenager 🥰

What I liked most about this book, was that complex human emotions of the characters, have been dealt with the most mature and simplest possible manner, avoiding unnecessary complications and drama 😊

The only thing missing was an epilogue. I wish there was an epilogue with all five of them together as a family 🥰 I bought a paperback of this book from Amazon. And this book is also available for free on Kindle Unlimited. I highly recommend this unique and lovable story to all romance readers ❤

This is the 51st book of this author.

This story revolves around Deepshika and Karan. Deepshika was a Divorce lawyer by profession and she just had divorced from her unloving husband. Karan was a very loyal husband to his wife but his wife left him without telling any reason.

Then Karan's wife filed a divorce case against him. At that time Karan met deepshika for his divorce case. There he fell for her beauty at first sight. Deepshika also had the same feeling for Karan.

What happened then? Would, they exchanged their feelings for each other? Would their heart accept their second love after marriage? Will Karan got a divorce from her wife? Why she left Karan without telling reason? Read this book and find out.

This was my second experience with this author. In my first experience itself, I'm impressed by her narration. Once again she proved in this book. The narrative was very gripping and was in fluid flow. It was fast phased. You can finish this in one go.

If you are looking for something new variety of love. I strongly recommend for them you will like this book.

I loved the cover and the story. The characters are realistic, and so are their emotions and conversations. I loved the kids as much as the main characters. I loved Deep’s relationship with her kids as well as her understanding father. I love how Darsh was so mature and protective towards his mother and sister. Krutika and Karan’s relationship has been portrayed beautifully.
The language is simple and the story is fast paced, I finished it in one sitting and loved every moment of the book. What I loved most was how the author connected this book to one of her previous one.
A must read.

Once Bitten Twice Lucky
~ Sundari Venkatraman

It's a story about two unhappy people finding love.
This is an adult love story. It's sweet , dignified and so maturedly written.

We have Deepshikha and Karan as our protagonists. This couple in the story is at the verge of being separated, but then destiny rolls out and turns their love story.

This is a modern day story where the protagonists are successful in their career but almost broken in their personal lives.

This is a beautiful story to read and introspect.

This is an Incredibly Engaging story of Karan and Deepshikha, a second chance romance, about rebuilding life back after messy divorce and finding love and happiness.
Deepshika a lawyer who is in a compromising marriage for the sake of her children despite of a cheating husband, but all that takes a ugly turn when his cheating comes out in open.

There is an instant attraction between them and love blooms between the two, their chemistry is off the charts. It was a riveting saga of love and I devoured the pages, their meetings, their banter, everything everytime was smashing hot.
I feel the author has done a good job writing both the love story with inspiring character developments.

I am always like, if you're not comfortable in a relationship talk about it and move out rather than cheating and hurting the person whom we once loved. The same is the concept of this book. The story is about Deepshikha and Mahesh , Karan and Dhwani. Who had been married for 16/14 yrs respectively, gets divorced and life throws a surprise of falling in love all over again.

The best part of the book is the Character Gulshan, everyone should have such Gulshan in there life. There are also quirks and happiness and joy when you finish reading the story. The Author not only covers the main roles but gives a gist of how their kids feels.

The negetive of the book , will be I expected more drama and the story stood too simple.

This novel have two protagonist. First one is deepshikha who is the divorce lawyer, but his husband takes things for granted and destroyed his family life. But finally karma hit him hard and bite him at crucial moment.

In the second plot, our hero Karan, a rich, innocent, businessman married his childhood friend but things fall apart. His daughter kept them intact. Let's see how deepshikha and Karan meet and what happen to their story by reading this book.

Theme of the novel is how divorce affects family, emotional and mental struggle of children, understanding between married couple.

It's a puzzle story but every plot come to an end and it's written in a beautiful manner. Such an amazing story! Kudos to the author!!

Happy reading

The story revolves around Deepshika and karan who are broken but fighting for their children in this ignorant society.

Deepahika is a divorce lawyer who is married for 17 and has 2 beautiful child Darsh and Myra. Deep is married to Mahesh Narang who never really paid any hid to his family and his wife. Though they are married for 17 years but mahesh never thought of their children nor he spend any time with them too. Then at last when everything got totally messed up and mahesh's extra marital affair came to public deep and mahesh got divorced. Now deep and her 2 kids live with their grand pa gulshan.

Then another story is going on which is about Karan.

Karan who is a hard working business man married to his college love dhwani. At first everything seemed to be so perfect they both are in love but after marriage nothing fall into place. Dhwani changed after marriage they both started quarrelling everytime but when their daughter krutika came seems everything gonna be fine but no they started ignoring each other more and oneday dhwani left everyone with her debit card and keys and has left letter for everyone too.

Jaran saw deep at a party at first instant he can't take off her eyes from her amd deel also saw him and some feeling grow in their hearts for each other. They never thought that they will meet once more .but destiny has something else in his mind.

They met each other when karan has visited for divorce to the famous divorce lawyer.

Another side krutika iyer and myra are becoming best friends.

Do karan amd deep share their feelings with each other ?
Will life give them a second chance?
Is it possible that after divorce people can a live usual life?
Is it ok that people are not happy after they married' as ler their choice?

The story is quite captivating amd fast paced too but at some how i feel it's a little predictable but stretching the story more to get to the main point which seems quite lengthy as the middle seems to be stretched more to the point.
Like i am saying it now by stretching it more 😂.

My Take:
A little bit of Deepshika and her womanizer husband is introduced in her previous book. Now her character and her story is developed in a full fledged story. A story that has many highlights and good inclusion of topics that society treats as a taboo even in this age.

Deepshika is an established divorce lawyer who has her feet firm in ground. When she finds out about her husband Mahesh’s philandering ways she decides to put a full stop to her marriage and move out. Her father is her strength so are her kids.

Karan is a successful good looking businessmen who is zapped when his wife just ups and leaves without any explanations leaving their daughter with him to manage with. Upset and shocked he decides to fight and he meets Deepshika for the same. Sparks fly ,chemistry palpable. Will the two find the love they are looking for? Or will the children rebel and make things difficult. Read the book to find out.

The chemistry between the leads is smoldering. I loved the children and their involvement in their parents life. The bonding between the leads with their respective kids and each others deserve a special mention. Also the track of Dhwani and her coming out of closet and accepting her sexual choice is very intricately blended. A beautiful story written subtly yet strongly.

A story full of positivity and hopefulness.

My ratings: 3.9/5
Deepshika and Karan are recently divorced from their 15+ years of respective marriages. Both of them are extremely good-looking as well as successful. When they cross paths, sparks fly and it seems this time, their lovelorn lives will not be as bad. But will their children accept this love too?

What I liked about the book:
-> The character of Deepshika's father, Gulshan, and his unrelenting support towards his daughter and grandchildren.
-> The seamless shifting of PoVs in between the narrations.
-> The way Karan reacts on finding out the reason behind his wife leaving him. It shows just how genuinely good Karan is and we can't help but fall in love with him.
-> The chemistry between the leads is simply smoldering with sparks flying around.

What I did not like about the book:
-> The plot is very predictable with hardly any turning points or plot twists. -> The protagonists and their family seem too perfect to be realistic, like, there's no flaw and no problem in their life besides their divorce? Too filmy for me, sorry.
-> I found it a little hard to digest that Deepshika got married at 18. Why wasn't the fact that she finished college and managed to build up a career, after getting married and having two children, mentioned anywhere?

Quotable quotes:
->It's best that we acknowledge the truth. It will help us move on with our lives.

This book is about relationships, trust and human emotions…All the characters have been beautifully penned by the Author..I loved the story and also the narrative style of the Author.

Deepshika, a lawyer, divorces her husband Mahesh, as he is a womanizer and had been cheating her for many years… She and her teenage kids shift to her father’s house…

Karan, a successful businessman, is shocked, when Dhwani, his wife of 14 years suddenly leaves him and their teenage daughter.

Both of them had failed relationships and the story weaves around them..

They both get mutually attracted to each other when they first meet in a bar..Karan is shocked when he finds out that she is going to be lawyer for his divorce case..

Though they like each other, they hesitate, as both of them have children and they fear to take it to the next stage..Their past worries them a lot..What happens next, whether they are united or not, makes this story an engaging read!!!

I liked the way the author portrayed every character in this story..No one is right or wrong when it comes to emotions..Every one of us have our own reasons to act in a particular way in a relationship!!!

Author had explained in detail how children feel when their parents get divorced and why it’s important to explain them about the decision in the way they understand!!!

Overall, I loved reading this story and my rating for this book is 4/5.
