This book was repetitive and a bit boring, contained beginner/basic knowledge, was inconsistent and I noticed a few mistakes compared to to other books and information that are out there. It states Thor had 3 children, Thrud, Magni, & Jarnsaxa. If you research anywhere else you will find that Jarnsaxa is the giantess, who was actually Thor’s first wife (before Sif), not his child. From the collective books I have read, Thor & Jarnsaxa had two sons, Magni and Modi. Thor and Sif had two children, Lorride, and the giantess, Thrud. I DNF’d this book around 100 pages in.
The first part of this book didn’t really grab my attention like I was hoping, however it picked up in the middle. I could have lived with out the pop culture references to Viking culture because it is a ver obvious thing. And seemed like the author was just trying to hit a word count in that part. However, this book is very informative and I really enjoyed learning some new things while reading it.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed this book, I have a fascination with Norse mythology so reading something like this, and learning more about their beliefs and practices was really enlightening. The narrator was great as this was an audiobook that I had received. His narration style doesn’t detract from the storytelling, and it was very enjoyable to listen to. If you’re interested in the Norse, I recommend picking up us and giving it a go.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a great idea to put all three books together to create one big book. I loved learning about Vikings and Norse mythology. This is a great source for someone looking to learn more about their culture and how they lived.

These three books merged into this volume answered a handful of questions I still had about the Nine Realms. It's written a bit like a school textbook, but it doesn't make you fall asleep. These are a great resource.
I learned so much about Norse mythology with this book. I find the subject absolutely enthralling and there is a lot of info here. It covered a lot of topics in detail and left me wanting to learn even more about Norsemen and their culture.
Lots of good information but also a bit repetitive between the three books. Some pictures and diagrams would have really improved the book, too. I read the Kindle version and unfortunately, it was very sloppily edited.
