Finn

Falling for the nanny isn’t my style...but neither was becoming a single dad overnight.

When my three-year-old niece, Hadley, needs a guardian, I fill the role and need a nanny. Stat. What I get instead is London Ashford—an infuriating redhead who tempts me at every turn.

The harder I push, the more she pushes back. I’m someone used to calling the shots, and her insubordination should irritate me; instead, it turns me on.

My nightclub isn’t going to run itself, so I have to harness my desire for her and let her do her job—so I can do mine.

London

Finnegan Royal is charming, gorgeous, and an insufferable asshole. Not exactly my type...not that it matters. He’s my new boss.

But watching a powerful businessman like Finn be brought to his knees by his toddler niece makes me feel all kinds of things I shouldn’t.

Named one of Chicago’s most eligible bachelors, he owns the hottest club in town and can have any woman he wants, but he has his sights set on me. The nanny.

The beautiful little girl has stolen my heart, but I have no doubt her arrogant uncle would break it if given the chance. So why can’t I stay away?

One word. Perfection.
Wait, no. Two words.
Unputadownable Perfection.

Holy hades. Rebel Shaw brought out the big guns with Royal. From the first page, I was enraptured. By the second page, I was positive I was already half in love with Finn Royal. By the end of the first chapter, I knew there was no coming back because Rebel Shaw blessed me with such a soul sucking - attention seeking plot from the VERY beginning , that I was a goner.

Now y’all I realized that within one chapter I was a lifer of these authors. But after going through the motions with Royal, London, and Hadley, it’s written in the stars that it’s going to be for an eternity.

I am completely in Aw of these authors and the talent showcased throughout Royal. The writing was out of this world. The depth that was showcased not only throughout the storyline, but it’s characters completely slayed me in the best of ways. (More on the characters in a minute.) The flow and the pace was so I tune with the development. I wanted to speed up because I couldn’t get enough, but I also wanted to slow down because I never wanted it to end. Don’t even get my started on the romance aspect. All I’ll say is… It’s a 10. I big fat f’n 10.

These characters OWN me, and I am a complete slave of the alphaness that Royal portrays. His cocksure attitude is what I LOVE about him, and what I could not get enough of, but when his character growth showed up, that made him unstoppable in my book. And Londons heart is everything. She’s light and airy, but is not afraid to give back what she is given. Hadley is the one thing we never knew we needed. She brings life to everything, and makes it easy to forget about the simple things that drives most adults insane.

Royal is an ABSOLUTE MUST READ! It’s that book that will get you out of that funk you’ve been in, even though there is sad times. I can not wait for the next book that these authors release.

First off, I love the opening to this story, haha. This was wonderfully written, you have a very Alpha Man Finn and a sweet but sassy Nanny London and boy do sparks fly. Then you add the sweet young lady Hadley and my heart melts for her. This story brings all kind of emotions. Get ready to sit back and enjoy the ride of London and Finn.

3.5-4 Solid

Ok, so I really liked this a lot but yet it also felt "rushed" and seemed a bit on the unrealistic side sometimes, like all too good to be true if that makes sense. But all in all I really enjoyed it and will definitely continue with the series.....I am interested in Tori and of course, Weston, yum!!!!!!

Finnegan Royal and London Ashford are perfect for each other as long as they can get on the same page.
Finn's world is turned upside down when he becomes the sole guardian to his young niece overnight. He knows nothing about children and he was not ready for the nanny. It wasn't supposed to be her. Now he has to fight to keep his control to stay away from her.
London isn't going to let this gorgeous broody man walk all over her or let this adorable little girl lose the only family she has left.
This has to be one of my favorite stories so far this year. It will definitely go on the re-read list.

Rebel Shaw came out swinging with their first book and it did not disappoint. I binge read in one sitting because Finn Royal is a god and commanded all of my attention.

Just holy hell the chemistry between Finn and London almost set my kindle on fire!!!

This book had the spice, the romance, the angst and the HEA!!!!

I need more of this couple, this world and I'm eagerly awaiting more Club Pivot books!

This book has a lot of 5 star ratings, but don’t think it is worth it. I enjoyed the majority of the book but I also had some issues.

Finn becomes the guardian of his niece Hadley after his brother and sister-in-law die in a car accident. He needs a nanny asap and that’s London. They have chemistry straight away and this continues until the end of the book.

I loved Hadley. She was the sweetest little girl and one of the best child characters I read. I don’t feel that I got to know Finn and London. Their characters stay superficial and the author didn’t go too deep into them. Finn is a manwhore, always hooking up with random women in the office of his club. He has “reasons” for not wanting to love and connect with someone. I understand his reason if he became the man he is after these several things happened. But basically it’s just because of a high school girlfriend when he was 18. London was a difficult character for me to review. Besides her being great with Hadley and losing her parents when she was young, she isn’t quite developed.

The romance is mainly sexual. They are attracted to each other and jump into sex without really knowing each other. I hated that their first time was in Finn’s office, the same couch/desk/window he fucked several random women. It told me she was just like the others, nothing special and just casual. He was acting hot and cold towards London. He messed up a few times and there was no groveling. I hated that. He did and said some hurtful things, but he didn’t have to do anything for London accepting him back. I like the hero to do the chasing, instead of the other way around.

The storyline certainly had potential. But some storylines, like the deal with Hadley’s grand parents and the reason why Finn was so against a serious relationship, weren’t addressed for the majority of the book. Only in the last chapters the author decided to finish up the loose ends. The ending was thrown together for a HEA.

*** Safety spoilers👇🏻***
I would say safe with exception. Finn was a manwhore (even had threesomes with his best friend Weston 🤮) but nothing on page. He turns 1 woman down after dancing. Another hook-up makes her appearance and even kisses him, but he cuts it off. He said he invited women to his office to try to forget London, but couldn’t do it. That thing happens off page. At the beginning of the book he says being celibate for 2 months. But a month into the book and the hook-up OW makes her appearance he says it’s been a month since he has seen her. Shouldn’t that be 3 months? Or was he with her since he met Londen? Not sure what to make of that. There were also too many references to OW he had sex with to my liking. No sexual history about London. They stop using condoms during the book, both never done it without. No cheating, OM drama or sex with OP. Slight OW drama, but nothing major.

I believe Weston’s book will be next in this series. I hope he won’t be matched with Tori, because since meeting her I counted him hooking up with at least 4 women already. Don’t need to add he’s a manwhore galore 🤢

Oh, my heavens what a great start to this series. Finn is a businessman, forever playboy and alpha male. One night his world and that of a little girl are changed forever when his brother and his wife a killed following a tragic accident. He now finds himself the legal guardian to his 3-year-old niece
Hadley Royal. He is grieving but needs assistance asap. He makes a late-night request to faithful company assistant, and she knows just the woman for the job.
London Ashford is in between jobs, so when the call for a nanny comes in, she knows she can't say no. Once she meets Hadley she is in love and will do anything to protect and care for this beautiful fragile little girl. Although she could do without the ogre, overbearing, stoic uncle she now lives and works for. London soon shows her protective nature with her sass, structure and willing not to back down when it comes to Hadley. She is refreshing, strong and filled with so much heart. This was a heartbreaking, emotional story filled with love, hope, change, obstacles and so much chemistry between London and Finn. Loved it!

HOLY DIRTY TALKING HOTNESS! Royal has the very best of this dynamic writing duo- romantic chemistry, emotional tension, heartfelt sincerity, and epic swoon...but edgier, sexier, and SO much more delicious. I'm hooked on the Rebel Shaw experience, and I can't wait for more from Club Pivot. Heart AND heat- addictive from the first page to the last!

I have been so excited for this new Rebel Shaw collaboration- not only because I really adore both of the pens behind the name, but because of the opportunity to see what two of my favorite go-to swoony, deliciously saccharine story tellers would do in a voice with a bit more edge and a lot more heat. I love the charm of their other names, don’t get me wrong, but for me, the more smut the better- and HOLY SMOKES, this is exactly what I needed. The sincerity, the tenderness, the sugary charm that I love but with a lot more sexy and a lot more angst.

Royal is the perfect alphahole to start the Rebel universe- he’s nothing like the Kaylee or Lacey heroines I’ve loved to date. He’s edgier, a bit broken, grumpy and arrogant. He’s an unapologetic jerk at times, and a total womanizer. But of course, he’s sexy and magnetic as hell, and man has a mouth on him that would melt a polar vortex. But he soon finds his happy little bachelor bumble broken in the wake of tragedy, and his world is rocked by becoming unexpected father to his adorable (and scene stealing) niece…and soon after by the earth shattering push-pull tension he has with the new nanny London. But she’s not delicate flower- she’s all steel and sass, resolve and strength, and she doesn’t cower under the mercurial antics of her grumpy new boss. Cue all the fireworks and fun!

I had so much fun in this story. Finn is a delicious challenge of a leading man, and he certainly delivers on that edgier promise of Rebel Shaw, but he also had the dreamboat qualities that come out over time that have made both of these authors such feel good story tellers. The reward is all the richer though, seeing this brooding, selfish, pompous man bring out his gentler, loving, swoony side is a delight. And London is one of my favorite heroines that they’ve written- she’s smart, thoughtful, generous and loving. But she’s also got a lot of spunk and sass. The chemistry between them is fantastic- lots of sizzle, lots of pull and the right amount of tension. And seeing Finn figure out how to be a super devoted daddy? POP- there go my ovaries. These two take quite a while to get on the same page, but fortunatley we get some dirty talking smutty fun to keep the pages turning and all in all, I’m super delighted by the new Rebel Shaw name and more from this world!

OMG!!! I'm claiming Finnegan Royal!!!! He is the perfect hero!!! I'm happy to say that this book was beautifully written and I can't wait to read the next one!!! Hopefully it's Weston!!

London and Finn are a great couple! She compliments him nicely! Here Finn is broody and silent, London is sweet and out-spoken. She is feisty and handles her own when it comes to Finn. Finn is a hard nut to crack! I love how he loves Hadley and when he allows himself, London too. They makes beautiful family and I'm truly happy that they got a very happily ever after!!! Much love to you both for an amazing story!!!

Hot 🔥! That’s the best way I can describe London and Finn’s connection. They have chemistry from the very beginning and it only gets hotter as you get further in. This story has it all. Family, sweetness, hot sex, great friend connections, and even some emotional scenes (that I may have shed a tear 😢 over!).

Finn is a single sexy bachelor not looking for anything in the relationship world at all. But he is an alpha that naturally wants to protect and take care of those close to him. He is a nightclub owner with his long time best friend.

London is sweet, nurturing yet independent and bold. She is attracted to Finn from the start but tries her hardest to be professional yet doesn’t take crap from Finn when he almost looses his mind.

Rebel Shaw writes this in a way that you are drawn in for the ride and won’t want to put this book down until it’s complete. I loved how they got their happily ever after. And I also look forward to more about Finn’s best friend Weston and London’s best friend Tori. But Hadley will steal your heart in this book and never give it back. So wherever Rebel Shaw goes with this series I pray Hadley keeps having cameo’s in their books. And maybe one day she will get her own story…one day…how fun would it be to watch her grow up throughout this series first!!!

This maybe the first book written as Rebel Shaw but they nailed it and I can’t wait for more!!!

terrible

I usually love both of these author’s books, but this was terrible. I’m mad that I even paid 99 cents for it. There will be some spoilers here..

I couldn’t stand Finn or London. He was an absolute pr!ck and she was just way too self righteous. The whole “sir yes sir” and “Mr. Royal Sir” was so cringy to me. The dialogue between them was cheesy and the sex scenes read like a script from a bad porno. Maybe these authors just aren’t for me anymore. I’m so over reading “my cock twitched” when he looks at her or “my pu$$y clenched” when she sees him. That’s all their internal thoughts were. I also thought it was ridiculous that she kept lusting after him when he treated her like absolute garbage.

—And that first sex scene🤮. He takes her to his office where he f—ks all his hookups. He opens his little drawer of condoms and does her on the couch where he’s f—ked countless women (because he’s also a total manwhore) and all I could think of was “GROSS!!”. I love a good emotional and intense sex scene—but I got the opposite here.

I kept reading on, hoping this book would get better, but every scene between them made me want to gag. I know this sounds extreme. I have never felt this way about one of their books.

I had high hopes for this one. Two authors that I enjoy and a falling for the nanny trope? Sold! However, I didn’t enjoy this one as much as I thought I would. The majority of that has to do with the love interest, Finn.

He was such an asshole so many times here. Yes, I can understand that London did step out of her employee role a few times. However, if it wasn’t for her Finn wouldn’t have done anything with his niece. After he hired London, he went right back to work like everything was fine. He didn’t even check on his niece to see how she was doing.

Did they have chemistry between then? Yeah. However, as soon as feelings came into play he was ready to push her away.

While this did have some cute moments between them and also with the niece, I can’t rate this higher because Finn’s behavior most of the time ruined it.

I absolutely loved London and Finn's story. I thought I've read everything about the nanny and single parent tropes. But their story is different. Finn's brother and sister-in-law died in an accident that left Finn to care for his niece. He never thought of having a family as he's busy with his own business. so he doesn't know the first thing about parenting. So he hired London. What he doesn't know is that she would be his downfall.

I loved how London stands up to Finn and have him more loving to Hadley. She's like the sweetest girl ever. I would read their story again just to read their interaction with Hadley again. I loved their story. I can't wait to read Watson's story next. but I'm not sure if it will top this one.

In an instant Finn Royal goes from alpha bachelor to the guardian of his three year old niece. Needing a nanny to help take care of Hadley, London comes into the story and immediately bonds with the darling little girl and which makes Finn all the more out of his element. But with every interaction and with every argument London and Finn become closer. Is it okay to sleep with the nanny? Or did Finn just lose out not only on his heart but the only person who has faith in him that he can raise little Hadley? With emotions running rampant from the opening pages this was an incredible read. Wonderfully written characters a storyline that hooks the reader from the beginning and a true and honest interpretation of what a family can really be made this deserve more than 5 stars.

3.5 Stars

Finn and London were a lot of fun. The chemistry was fabulous, and how unwilling Finn was to become involved with her (and his new live in niece) was relatable and understandable.

I can't imagine most of us would react perfectly to this situation, so watching him stumble and London be there to set him straight was one of the best parts of this title.

This is a writing due with an author that I really enjoy and one I am less familiar with. Hilariously, I didn't know that going into the book, but it *felt* like a Kaylee Ryan title, so imagine my surprise when it sort of was one.

That said, this book is fun, it's enjoyable, and the authors both write well together, so the story meshes well with each of the characters seeming like while, complete people.

There was some extraneous drama that I thought could have been removed, but it was handled quickly and I think it was more there to show the reader how protective Finn is of his niece, even though he hasn't yet figured that out.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

A brilliant start by both these authors; I can not wait for more books from them.

From the opening paragraph, I was hooked. Finn brings us into this story with his self-confidence and swagger until he gets the phone call.

London comes to his rescue by recommendation of his assistant, Pam. This nanny was nothing like he expected. She immediately takes over and puts him in his place. Finn is entirely out of his element with his sassy nanny and his precious niece. Will his control slip?

You want to get lost in this book! Set aside the time as putting it down is not an option.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

5 SMOOCHES!

I’m a long-time reader of Lacey Black’s, and I’ve really enjoyed her collaborations with Kaylee Ryan so it was a given that I’d be reading their work under the Rebel Shaw pen name. This author duo is wonderfully matched. Their writing is seamless and crisp, full of wit, emotion and humor and their stories are romantic and full of charming, endearing characters.

Finnegan Royal is a successful club owner. He’s charismatic and as alpha as they come, but his world is turned upside when the unthinkable happens. Suddenly thrust in the role of guardian to his three year old niece, he needs help fast, and he finds it in the nanny he hires, London Ashford. London is a natural caregiver, and the perfect fit to help with Finn’s adorable little niece, Hadley. She’s also got an independent streak, and where Finn is the strong, silent type, she’s not afraid to speak her mind.

I love single dad romances, and Rebel Shaw debuted with a wonderful story featuring a twist on that trope. Royal was an unputdownable love story full of heart-tugging emotion and blistering hot chemistry wrapped up in a beautiful romance. Five smooches from me for Royal by Rebel Shaw!

Well color me delighted that Rebel Shaw is a dynamic duo whose books I love so much but now that I know that fact, it's easy to see why I LOVED Royal so hard! See, Finn is a man who isn't interested in finding the one to settle down, but his life is thrown into chaos when he becomes guardian of his scene stealing niece, Hadley (I loved this tiny human so much). Obviously he needs some help, and the nanny he ends up with is the ginger, London, who challenges him at every turn, and yet, he's attracted to her. London isn't a big fan of her new boss at first because he's really not that nice to her LOL, but things take a turn when she watches him become a different man over the adorable tiny human niece of his, and the sparks are flying like crazy. However, while she wants him as he does her, she's worried that he would break her heart. Man, this story seriously pulled on my sweet heartstrings that are buried deep under my dark & twisty self which makes it perfect in the telling in my eyes. You don't want to pass Royal up as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I absolutely LOVED this book! This book piqued my interest from the moment it was announced and it did not disappoint. This is forced proximity, boss/employee, slight age-gap romance full of angst and steam.

Finn really rubs you the wrong way, to begin with, but when forced to take the responsibility for his niece, he slowly starts to melt and it steals a bit of your heart. London is FIERCE. No other word for it. She stands up to Finn and shows him that deep down he can take on this responsibility whether he's ready for it or not. These two together are HOT HOT HOT.

Little Miss Hadley makes you want to melt and totally is the scene-stealer in much of the book.

Bring on Club Pivot #2 I'm ready for some Weston Prince and to have a peak into the future of London and Finn!

I knew this was going to be amazing, but this was so much more than I could have ever imagined! Take two phenomenal writers and have them share a story, you get one insanely hot book!

I love Finn, London, and sweet Hadley. Due to unforeseen circumstances the playboy meets a beautiful woman who becomes the nanny.

The love that is shared is truly beautiful, the moments that I cried also beautiful for different ways. They will absolutely draw you in and make you feel the pain, love, anger, and attraction flawlessly with what we know as Rebel’s word.

First of the Club Pivot Series, I am beyond excited to know we get more! Sexy as hell 5 stars!

So I actually went into this book blind. I always read the synopsis. This time I did not. So imagine my shock in the first chapter and omg. But this story, man! It’s one of my favorites. I adore these authors already and this book was just another magical treat from them. Finn, London, and Hadley are special. So special. I can’t for more to come from Rebel Shaw!

Royal is a Nanny single dad (guardian) romance that was so very good! I am serious taken by this world and need the next book in the series asap!
Royal is HOT HOT HOT! It is a balance of attraction and tension with some the best dirty talking I have read in a very long time.

Page, one has you attention and keeps it the entire length of the book it is never lets go. By the end of the first chapter, I knew that I was not sleeping or doing anything until I finished this book. I needed to know all the things!
This was a wonderfully well thought out story. The movement of the storyline was so well done.

I am slightly obsessed with this story, and I cannot recommend it enough! It was so intense. I have never read any books by either author and I am now digging into their back list. 5/5 stars for Royal.

I want to say this is THE. BEST. BOOK in 2022. It will fr sure be on my top 20 ,
I fell in love with Mr. Finn Royal from page one, let me start by saying he is a very hard man to love, there are walls he has built around his heart. Then one horrible night his entire world gets turned inside out by none other then a 3 yr old niece
That little girl slowly worms her way into his heart. The best part is he doesn't even realize it. Now enter London Ashford. She is what makes this book amazing. She is a spitfire. She's sassy and puts Finn in his place more times then he can count.....This book is a must
